  1. I agree that their app and website are awful. If you call customer service 3 times, you will get 6 different answers. 😕
  2. We just returned from a 10-day cruise. The shows in the main theater were pretty awful. We enjoyed the comedians and the Rock Opera. The rest (8 other shows) were terrible. The talent was lacking. Many of them were like a High School performances or talent shows. What we did enjoy were the game shows and trivia nights in Princess Live!, hosted by the assistant cruise directors.

  4. RocknRoll was being sarcastic. If it is specialty pizza, it should be advertised as such. I believe that is what took him/her by surprise considering pizza is available for everybody on the ship.
  5. It will not come with a charge for the Plus or Premium package. It is included.

Thank you for this comment, it prompted me to think. 😛 This is the first cruise we will be taking where we have a different MDR each night and the servers do not rotate/follow you to the MDR (like Disney). Over 10 days we will rotate between 3 dining rooms and not have the same servers each night. For our room steward and servers, we have always given extra gratuities for taking such great care of us.
  8. Yes, that is true about the gratuities. Having somebody locate you on the ship is a nice service they offer and different than going to the coffee bar, etc to get it yourself. We feel if we are blessed enough to go, a few dollars is not going to hurt us. 🙂
  9. We will purchase the Plus package when we board here in a week. Ocean Now looks convenient. With Princess Plus, tips are included in the package price. If I use Ocean Now, I would think it is customary to tip additional for somebody bringing me a drink. For those who have used this service, did you add an additional tip into the app or did you hand them a few dollars in cash? I do not recall which one, but years ago a cruise line we took strongly urged not paying cash for tips. Maybe that was because it is not easily shared with other crew members?
  10. I see it in the app store. I have an iPhone. The rep I spoke to about the Spa services not being available told me to book them on the new app and use the old app for everything else. There are no spa services in the new app. Seems none of them are aware of what they offer, what works, etc.
  11. As of today, I am still on it and I was told by a rep at Princess to use it for my trip. We sail at the end of this month.
  12. As I mentioned earlier, drop the new app, go back to the "old" app and you are back in the green lane without providing a cc for Shoreside. I spoke with an American at Princess, after about 6 transfers, who confirmed they know there is a glitch with it. That is what they told me to do. They said the new app has bugs that still need to be worked out.
  13. Live chat is horrible, but they do eventually have somebody respond. When you get somebody, they are usually slow in their responses and do not seem to know much. I would call.
  14. Not if you do not like Coke products or drink much alcohol.
  15. I uninstalled the new app and am sticking with the old app until my cruise is done. I do not have to enter that information. You should go back to the old app if you can.
  16. Are there any tips or tricks I should know about boarding in Ft Lauderdale? Anything in particular about the port, anything to make things easier on us, etc. We have Green Lane boarding.
  17. I have never reached anybody but people in Manila or Puerto Rico. I was told there is no state-side support unless I worked with a specialist that I book through. As a whole, the customer service is wretched. Both online and on the phone. Most likely a combination or high turnover and also a communication barrier. I do not think Princess/Carnival cares. As long as people continue to book, they can offer crappy service.

  19. I have constant issues with their website, regardless of the browser. Safari, Chrome, Firefox, DuckDuck, Bing or Edge. All awful. Many services never load. You cannot change your password. Their live chat is even worse. You get kicked out of queue and have to start over. The person you get seems to not know accurate information, etc. Phone calls are not much better. Many of them are hard to understand with all of the background noise and they all talk either very soft or like the microphone is in Darth Vader's mouth.

  21. I have a few questions I was trying to get a solid answer on, being that things change often. Princess Cay appears to have many beach chairs. Are those for a fee? I checked the excursions for our cruise and it does not look like I can pre-book. Are we able to use our Princess Plus package on Princess Cay? I have read both yes and no. If yes, what is included?

  23. Do I need to go to somebody on board or can I just do it on the app the morning that we sail? I would think at that point, the morning we sail, the TA is out of the picture?

  25. If you contact Princess support, so few of them seem to be able to give an answer, beyond what they copy and paste into chat. I need some guidance, please. We are sailing in 18 days. This was booked by my in-laws through a TA. It is obviously fully paid for. They are treating the family. My husband and I want to add the Plus package. It looks like I can do it on the app or website. I contacted Princess Support to ask if the amount of onboard credit could be used for it. They said no and also said I cannot add the package, I have to go through the TA. Not my TA and my in-laws will have a fit if we "bug" them to have it added, although we are paying for it. (very long story) **Side note - the TA they used is horrible. They tried some scamming along the way. So, is my only option to avoid the TA is to pay for it after we have boarded the ship? My only concern is that I have read many times it takes 24-36 hours to become available. We were hoping to go on the app before setting sail and just charging it to our shipboard account.
