Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. You know, I don't know if the steward was new. I mentioned several times to his supervisor and then again to Guest Services and was never answered. I expect he might have been since his supervisor was helping him clean my cabin on day 1 an hour after the "all cabins ready" announcement was made. No apologies from anyone. Guest Services had a small vase of flowers sent the next day, but that's all they did. I only saw the steward one time after the incident and that was a brief passing in the hallway. Things did improve, but there were still issues--frustrating, but I planned my days to be mostly out of my cabin. A definite GRRRR experience.
  2. My uneducated cruise experience in this situation suggestion is to (take that for what it's worth) post a brief summary on their Facebook or Instagram pages. You might get a response when it's more public.
  3. The poster stated their issue. I responded with my experience which was not incorrect.
  4. Your reply is incorrect. I live in California, always have a package, and have not paid for Medallion shipping...ever.
  5. I was on this cruise and while anyone who asks me if I had a great cruise, I will say yes (plainly because of sunny sea days and gorgeous port days and adventures), but after four cruises on Discovery I will not actively cruise her again. 1. WORST cabin steward. As an example, I threw my used bathroom towels in a pile on the shower floor. He pushed my hanging clothes aside in the closet and hung them up on hangars to ostensibly dry. There were other issues as well. So much so that I spoke with Guest Services. 2. While waiting at various bars and the International Cafe I was ignored. Couples would walk up and be greeted immediately. 3. I saw the "service dog" late in the cruise, but in no way did I think it was service, 4. I was central balcony on the Caribe level and taking stairs every time and I saw dishes outside cabins once or twice but more in the actual stairways. 5. I paid for dining at The Catch and when I arrived the "restaurant" (really an area--old Le Mer) was not full and requested a table by the window. Was told not possible as they were reserved for larger parties. Think "Jugdish" if you know or want to Google the movie Animal House. Three solo travelers were banished to this area. 6. When I asked for a table by the window at the SDG I was met with pushback but in the end at this particular place I did get the table I wanted (BTW it's not a pub so I hope they change it to O'Malley's). 7. Not a Princess issue, but large man in a large scooter ran over one of my feet and it became an issue. His response when I confronted him was that I "could at least walk." *****? Not acceptable at all. There's more, but meh too much negative is too much. My experience was obviously different than most, but it was my experience.
  6. If you don't have a package you will have to pick them up at the port. Since it appears you're in CA that would seem to be the issue. Is your cruise really soon?
  7. I had the same issue, but went to guest services once on board and they "printed" a replacement for me. No sticker.
  8. Recently off the Discovery. Initially crew reminding people entering the buffet to wash their hands. Noticed not many doing so and then crew were no longer posted. Days later I saw someone washing their face and blowing their nose directly into the sink. Shudders. I told the manager on duty and was told it’s a cultural thing and they can’t monitor everyone. Excuse me? Since when is that an acceptable reason?
  9. That’s what I was hoping for, but it didn’t happen. I won’t lay all blame on others, I just had a higher expectations. Great to hear and thank you.
  10. Thank you for sharing. Great advice... thank you so much!
  11. Thank you! Will put my toe in the pond again for a future cruise, so to speak.
  12. The meet and greet was scheduled for the following day, but since we had responded via the roll call I didn't think anything of approaching them. Maybe to your suggestions, but I was just so put off that I didn't go to the M&G scheduled for the next day. No, it didn't affect my cruise, but I was taken aback. Thank you for your kind response.
  13. Recently back from a 2-week Discovery Princess Hawaiian cruise. Loved joining a roll call for the first time and felt lucky that it was an active one. Come cruise time the same message board camaraderie didn't carry over IMO (I approached someone I recognized from their CC profile picture on embarkation day and feel I was reprimanded by being told essentially that profile and actual names would be done the next day). Anomaly? The usual? Just wondering. And no, I'm not sensitive...just felt like it was an imposition made on my part that I didn't expect.
  14. Somewhat? I read your comments. Ha, ha, I appreciate your feedback.
