same here... I was already thinking of retiring once reach forties... and what could be better way to start other than cruising for 3 years.... but property market at NZ was bad so thought of seeing how this one goes and join the next cruise line bringing the similar thing... hopefully Princess.

well... curise plan already had option to pay only 1 or upto 3 months in advance... hope most were smarter to pay as they go and have only small amount stuck in there... people who sold houses, i hope they did to invest those monies someplace else and pay for cruise from profits.... excellent idea of 3 years cruise.... I hope some stable cruise company actually make it happen by relaunching with ship ready to sail.

I was almost one of them, lucky me that local property market was bad so hold off on letting go property and decided to book the next one....

next year.... we will be just back from 3 months tour doing Europe so sadly will miss it in May. How is desire resorts? planning to book some adult resorts, but couldn't find much reliable reviews or listings.

That was our first and last HAL.... never ever... service, entertainment, and everything was below acceptable level. cruise director pointed out that endless cost cutting measures... to the point, director walked off ship alongside us to go for something better. once again, happiness and satisfaction are perception different for everyone.

@slhal, did you do the one around Christmas? we did westerdam Auckland to Singapore we might be one of those at borderline where you want to be irritated of, but too good to be irritated of.

well put @pdmlynek. We did HAL recently for the first time and I can confirm that... we were feeling like underage couple among rest of the crowd. one day we were feeling little romantic in private hydro spa area, but were worried that other might get heart attack - lol.
