Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Reserve Dining is a separate section of the MDR with it's own entrance that is a perk of having a full suite or a Reserve Mini Suite. Only passengers in those cabins have access to this section of the MDR (it's usually just one of the dining rooms that they have sectioned off, but not sure how they have it on the Sun).
  2. Princess allows you to access Medallion features by logging on via their website - there is a link for those without mobile devices. When the app was giving me crap last week, I was able to access it via the web and book dinner rez for specialty dining.
  3. Cruiseplum.com is a great resource! Thanks for sharing.
  4. Club Class is now called Reserve and is available for all full suite guests and specifically the mini suite with the reserve upgrade guests. Can you upgrade to either of these suite types? If there are any of those to class of cabins still available, probably so!
  5. I would have to agree with reedprincess in that the Thermal Suite looks like a let down compared to the Enclave. I was on the Royal last Thanksgiving out of SF and enjoyed both the sanctuary and enclave. I am on the crown this December and watched a ship tour - saw the thermal suite and decided to take a pass. Not sure where your cruise is headed but if you’re going south, you may have a day or two that’s worth the sanctuary. We splurged for a cabana last year instead of going into Ensenada and that was a lot of fun. The only thing I would mention is that the sanctuary on the crown princess is not adjacent to the adults only pool. You’d need to go to the Lotus Pool and I think that’s on the deck below. That might not be a big deal for you if all you’re looking for is a place to lounge and relative peace and quiet, considering a Thanksgiving cruise will have the munchkins running around. Have fun.
  6. Great! Packing our ugly Christmas sweaters.
  7. Thanks everyone! I’m on the Crown 12/12-22 and sounds like there will be some holdiay spirit 🎄. Cheers 🥂
  8. Can anyone share what can be expected holiday decoration and festivity-wise cruising between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Thanks.
  9. Found this view on the Medallion app. they actually marked the club class entrance on the deck 6 map for the crown princess. Doesn’t look like they did this for all ships.
  10. I had that suite, too, Thanksgiving 2022 out of SF to Ensenada. Loved it.
  11. I will probably think twice about the type of cabin I'm getting on different class ships. I had my eye on Reserve Minis on this cruise for myself and travel buddy, but wanted them close by and that didn't come up because I'm such a last minute planner. We opted to share a suite, the space is nice but outside of the Reserve dining there really isn't enough draw for me to pony up for a suite on this class ship having learned the difference! Were you in R609 on the Royal? I would totally choose a location near the lounge again!
  12. Hi All - a few posts have referred to a priority embarkation lounge for certain categories of guests, including suites. Anyone know if there is such a lounge at the San Francisco port? I cruised last year out of SF in a suite and no one pointed me to a priority embarkation lounge. Maybe there wasn’t one but things were very chaotic and no one on the staff seemed to know what was going on, so we just queued up and waited in line.
  13. I was directly across from the lounge on the Royal last year and thought it would be an annoyance, but never heard noise and we enjoyed having the nibbles, cocktails, help, and a quiet space to hang when we wanted to socialize but didn't want the crowds. I think, though, I was mostly impressed with the one- touch cappuccino machine. That really made my day and had to buy one when I got home 😂
