  1. I immediately thought of this. Not helpful to OP.
  2. On the Meravigilia this past week, there were numerous kids of varying ages in the YC. I would say most if not all were well behaved. There were one or two toddlers, and maybe heard one or two cries and the parents either removed them from the dining room or immediately settled them down.
  3. Hilton garden inn in staten island has a park and cruise. However, not much savings vs parking when you consider an uber for both ways.
  4. Not in a position to spends lots of time with a deep dive on the trip. Perhaps when we get back to land. Many of the items previous folks have recommended have been useful (magnetic hooks, puck lights, etc). Bring a sweater or sweatshirt for the first couple of days. It was cold on deck. This is our first trip on MSC and I can only speak to our experience in YC, but it has been fantastic. Having experienced it, we feel it is worth every penny to do it and we have no intentions on traveling any other way with them. We have another trip with MSC that we previously booked for this October and cannot wait for that one as well.
  5. Embark was fine. Had to wait a bit for zero count. Our scheduled time was 930, and we got there about 15 mins early. No parking issues, plenty of spots. We sailed YC so we waiting for maybe up to 30 minutes while in YC lounge.
  6. Our 7 night ran $315 (this AM). Got here early figuring we could just have a few drinks while waiting for boarding.
  7. @MisterBill99 if you are outside, you are hardier stock than I. I'm sticking to a window at the top sail.
  8. See you there. I’ll be wearing my cold weather uniform of blue pants, long shirt and sweater jacket. T minus 1d.
  9. See you in YC. Looking forward to it myself this weekend.
  10. Thanks for that info. We have a duplex stay in October and was interested on your take.
  11. How was it being outside of the majority of the yacht club footprint? We were wondering about that aspect of the room location.
  12. Thanks for posting the daily! We are on in YC in 20 days (but whose counting) and those dailies are great to figure out what the dress and events are. I've been told by SWMBO that we are getting dressed for dinners ;)
  13. Wow, did I have a brain fart. First trip is in March. The second one is October. Too cold outside to think straight.
  14. The temperatures keep dropping and I find myself thinking about tropical weather. I keep saying to be patient til October. It will be our first trip with MSC and trying out the YC. I found myself thinking about what might be a nice gesture for the butler, maître d', etc and I thought about my wood working hobby. So I’ll be bringing these on board to give select folks that make our trip enjoyable.
  15. I have not. We bid on an upgrade and won it, so we are doing one of the YC Deluxe rooms. I had some concerns about storage for my wife’s planned luggage assortment. No longer assigned to that room.
  16. This 100%. My coworker opted for the FCC.
  17. I am cautiously optimistic with the TA we used for booking two upcoming trips in YC. He was great and patient with a few changes we had (started with a aurea suite, later changed to a YC duplex). Price was identical to that on the MSC site. Was able to use the voyager discount and got a decent (in my eyes) OBC. The only reason I’m still withholding final judgment is that we won’t see the OBC until the cruise. For the YC interior, it was $350 in OBC and for the duplex it is $925 iirc.
  18. Meh, 40 knot winds and seas to 15 feet. Who doesn’t love chumming the waters.
