Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I can promise you the guests are not hanging out at night sipping lattes. I’m pretty sure they do close before dinner.
  2. Just got off Vista. There are no food options between 5:30-6:30 except room service. If in concierge class, thru do have bite size sandwiches and cookies in the lounge on 9 forward. We would bring snacks back to the room after lunch. Tender operation definitely needs improvement. For all those that enjoy a casino on board, the casino on Vista is very well run. The manager is always around and will but you drinks if you play. There are $10 and $25 black Jack tables, 3card poker and roulette and craps rables. The slots seemed very fair. My wife played on the same machine the entire trip and basically broke even. On sea days there is a black Jack tournament and hold ‘em poker tournament. You will enjoy the casino and the rest of the ship. I prefer a cabin near the aft elevators as they are more frequently used for dining venues. Bon Voyage
  3. I am reading many of your posts about Ember. Until you all realize that Ember has been substituted for Jacques, you’ll never be satisfied with Ember. I’ve read that there enough casual restaurants. Like what? Terrace Cafe? Waves?. Aquamar?. Accept Ember for what it is. High quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. Steaks, Lobster Rolls, Fried Shrimp, Lobster Mac and cheese with chunks of lobster and according to a guest that I spoke to, one of the best pork chops he’s ever had.
  4. Pam fried shrimp, Chilean Sea Bass, Branzino,Sole Meunière, Nordic Salmon Rillettes. At the end, they give you the recipes.
  5. I’m in a concierge cabin. The vanity in the bathroom does have doors and there is a lighted mirror in the main cabin.
  6. I’m on Vista. We had a culinary class today with called Old Man and the Sea concentrating on fish preparation. It was excellent. Highly recommended.
  7. I’m on Vista. The Internet is excellent. No problem at all. If you’re still with O Life, it’s an extra $25 or so for the second connection. They charge a flat fee for the entire cruise.
  8. I’m on Vista. I had a very good meal on ember. The Rib Eye was excellent as was the Fried Shrimp appetizer and the pork ribs. Nosier and not the ambience of the other specialty restaurants.
