  1. THANK YOU FOR THIS! We are cruising in Jan on the Magic with our will be 15 month toddler.

I guess Mommy brain hasn't even thought through to the dinner time ritual yet! We love fruit, so we may have to stop by the lido on the way and pick up some pre-meal munchies.

We brought in a snack to our first dinner. Asked that a fruit plate be on table before we arrived and it was each night

  2. I've never had a problem with having my tee shirts, polos, briefs or sox laundered by Carnival. There is ample opportunity to have them washed and returned before running out of items. Packing 8 tees and briefs and 5 polos is plenty for a 23 day cruise. Fits in my 22" Delsey carry on, along with slax, hat, swim suits, no problem.

Travel docs, meds, binoculars and snorkel fit into a small shoulder bag. No need to check baggage when flying in the morning of the cruise. Easy peasey.

Give classes please. It would be wonderful to have just a carry on.

  3. Unfortunately that is not the case. Just read this on John Heald's page:

    Well my hopes just sank😢

  4. Adult daughter has several food allergies. We learned the hard way to always check in with the assistant maitre'd. Always! FYI. The wait staff does not know all ingredients in each dish. This is how our daughter became ill. They don't know!

Each evening the assistant maitre'd would go over the menu with a list of ingredients in each. She also was there for any dish made on the ship from buffet to steakhouse.

As a nurse I can assure you just because you have a slight reaction to something that does not mean at some point it will not become serious. I have seen this with my daughter and others.

    Better safe than sorry

  5. This may be a bit overboard but my daughter downloads the camera memory stick to her computer every night. Then downloads that to an iPad. Plus saves each day's individual memory stick. These nonreplacement photos are so much more important to her since she lost an entire cruises photos.

  6. I use a PVP. I love that I can call him and just tell him who of our immediate family is going on a cruise. We usually book 3 cabins and he knows who are cabin mates. Never had a problem with cabins or dining. Before we had him we had issues with 3 of us being issued a different number and it was a pain to fix that. He makes it easier

  7. My daughter, a young adult, has several food allergies including multiple spice allergies.

As someone suggested earlier we always check in upon embarkation in the MDR and the head hostess has taken care of her. She does have all ingredients for each plate of food.

Daughter still does this even after over 20 cruises just in case a recipe is changed or she tries a new dish.

Luckily she has not had any reaction since she had coordinated meals with the hostess.
