Thanks for taking the time to answer my question Redtravel. My questions were relevant to me/my wife and our travelling companions. I for one appreciate and respect that everyone is different - different interests, different needs etc. All I was looking for was some positive and relevant feedback from other CC members to the questions I raised.

 

My circumstances are different to yours - running my own business is all encompassing. I rarely get time to watch TV & movies. So when I get the chance to do so, I find it a relaxing pass time. We have 10 sea days on our next cruise so I'm sure I'll have plenty of time for and joy most if not all of the activities you mentioned as well as watching some relaxing TV/movies. If you choose not to watch TV on a cruise then good for you - but guess what, doing so gives me enjoyment & is relaxing.

 

As for travelling with our friends, again our circumstances/relationships are different to yours. Because of distance and business pressures we rarely get to spend any time with such good friends. It has been our mutual experience that travelling together has enhanced the experience ten fold. Again I respect that others may not want to travel in the manner that we do - I was simply asking a question relevant to how we travel & what we enjoy

 

Your response was all about how you care to travel rather than providing an answer to the 2 simple questions I asked. If you're going to respond to CC threads, then I suggest you do so in the context of the questions raised by the OP Rather than foisting your opinions on how others should travel/enjoy their well earned holiday time.

Well put, Team Alpha. It annoys the heck out of me when people reply to inquiries by telling the inquirer what they should and should not do on a cruise or vacation. I am not sure I would have been as civil with my reply.

I will be buying a SIM card in Venice to use to call home to the little ones...which card would be best not really interested in data but will use if needed?? I will be in Venice then on to cruise to visit Croatia, Greece, and Turkey. I know I will be incurring roaming in the other countries but just want to be able to call home for a few minutes a day (10days) total. Any suggestions welcomed I have Iphone 5s from Sprint unlocked already.

iPhone 5 will work on both CDMA and GSM networks. CDMA- only phones do not have a SIM card slot......as you know, iPhone 5 has a SIM slot
