  1. Perhaps not. But if they weren’t trying to compete with RCCL, why did they turn the two top decks of the Sun Princess into an amusement park? I could have done without it…🤮
  2. If you book as Princess Premier, you are paying a higher fare up front in exchange for certain perks. I don’t think it’s accurate to say that someone who already paid for perks is a “non-revenue passenger.” Also, something cannot be “comped” if has already been paid for in advance. Regardless, the changes you describe are disappointing.
  3. It is sad. Prior to the pandemic, Princess’ customer service was generally excellent. Since then, it’s really fallen off a cliff.
  4. @suzyluvs2cruise the Poivre Perfection is amazing. I went to The Catch with my husband and daughter on the Sky in August. They love fish and I don't, so the Poivre Perfection was an excellent choice for me. I liked it so much I couldn't wait to go back to The Catch a second time that week. Your DH would still have good options there!

  6. It is possible that they are already sold out for all the slots that are available prior to boarding. I have already booked our passes for cruises on the Sun in June and September, so I can tell you from experience that some people definitely book well in advance. But don't they keep some slots available for the day of boarding, too? I know it's not ideal because it means rushing to the spa as soon as you board, but we have definitely purchased these after getting on the ship in the past.
  7. Agree that this is a great venue. I had the steak au poivre at The Catch (on the Sky last August) and it was definitely the best steak I’d ever had on a ship. I ate it twice. 😂
  8. That makes sense. Not sure why I didn’t think of this possibility based on how pop-ups have worked in the past. There is only one area where I still see “Coming Soon” on the deck plan. It’s up near the Piazza on Deck 9. Any thoughts on what might go there?
  9. I have been totally unsuccessful with the online chat. First it puts me in a queue and tells me how many people are ahead of me. It seems like I reach the end of the queue and then a message pops up asking me if I am still there. I say yes, and it says "Thanks for waiting!" Then...nothing. It keeps on periodically asking me if I am still there and after I say yes, it just repeats "Thanks for waiting!" It doesn't tell me that there are people ahead of me in the queue either. It just says, "One of our agents will chat with you as soon as possible." But then no one ever does. This has been going on for 25 minutes. If I am actually still in the queue, why doesn't it just say so? Why is there no estimated wait time shown? If I had known I would be dealing with this for over an hour, I probably would have given up sooner and tried some other time.
  10. Why would I pay my final balance if the cruise is likely to be canceled? I would rather keep my money than pay and get stuck waiting for Princess to refund it after they cancel.
  11. I do. But it would be easier if I didn’t pay the final balance in the first place, which I am planning to do in the next couple of weeks. As I learned in 2020, things are easier if I don’t have to file the insurance claim.
  12. Some of us are interested in the details because we have cruises booked on Sun Princess in the next few months and we would like to understand the likelihood of additional cancellations.
  13. We were just on the Joy for NYE, right before its dry dock. We stayed in the Haven so we really enjoyed it. The new thermal suite looks like it will be amazing! I was sad we didn’t get to see it!

  15. There's not a lot of information in the press release regarding the cause of the delay. At this point, they are only cancelling the inaugural cruise, but it seems like they could cancel others depending on the severity of the issue.
