  1. I booked a return flight via EZAir from SFO and the earliest time allowed was 12:00pm. (I know because there was an 11:45am flight it wouldn't let me book).  That is for a Sunday disembark.  I don't know if EZAir takes the day of the week into it or not.  I doubt it.

  2. And I just got an email from Princess (via my TA) that says this.  Which is what I thought were the requirements.

    - Guests ages 5 and above who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 do not
require pre-cruise COVID-19 testing for this voyage. To be considered fully vaccinated a guest must have completed their final dose of an
approved vaccine at least 14 days prior to embarkation.
    - Guests ages 5 and above who have not been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 are
required to take a viral COVID-19 test within 3 days of embarkation and attest to a negative result. Self tests are accepted.

We have B2B cruises scheduled leaving Oct 1.  A 7 day California and 15 day Hawaii leaving from SF on Ruby.  When I logged into Cruise Personalizer for the California cruise this morning I got this pop-up.  Between the sentence telling me we need to be vaccinated and a sentence stating the need for a negative covid test there is a hyphen.  Not an AND.  Not an OR.  A hyphen.  My hope is this means you only need the test if you're not vaccinated.   I guess I'll try to contact Princess to see if they can shed any light on this....

If you get stuck checking in at pier 35, that’s the only thing I could see that really slows you down in terms of check in.  It’s not set up for that anymore so, they have mass chaos in that terminal when it is set up for embarkation.  Also, the Embarcadero is a tangled mess with so much traffic and such.
They would be smart to put the Zuiderdam as well as the smaller ship down at pier 35 as this would probably be a port of call for both of them.  I watched the local news of us boarding back in April … what a disaster.  We were there for 4 hours waiting in the bitter damp cold just to get into the terminal and another 1.5 hours to get through check in and board.  I was ready to turn around and go back home … just take the FCCs.  I saw a picture of me on the news while waiting on the sidewalk.  😂  I can laugh at it now … it wasn’t funny back then.

We're at Pier 27 do hopefully it won't be too bad.  Thanks for the reply.

We’ve boarded several times in San Francisco since the restart.  We’ve had three or four fairly easy boarding experiences, one that was bad, one that was just awful.  The one that was awful boarded at Pier 35 as the Majestic took the berth at Pier 27 coupled with the Ruby’s previous disembarkation being delayed.
Most of the delays earlier this year were caused by something related to CoVid … since they now won’t be requiring testing for many of the cruises on the Ruby, there shouldn’t be any long delays getting onboard going forward unless they reimplement testing again (outside of Canada).  I believe the Ruby isn’t doing any cruises longer than 15 days until at least December, so you should be ok as long as there is not another ship in port at the same time you are there or if some reason, they stick you down at pier 35 … I don’t see it happening, though.

I'm on a cruise Oct 1.  I looked earlier and there are TWO other ships in port that day.  Zuiderdam and a smaller ship.   Other than more crowds around, less taxis/Uber, etc. how does that slow things down?  Not enough workers?

Dinner in MDR Botticelli was excellent last night.   We have a permanent table now with a happy group of waiters.  The MDR wasn’t even half full.  Maybe because it’s a little hard to get to being at the back of the ship and cut off from the rest of deck 6.

Did you request the same table before/after the first night or did they just assign you the same table.  We're on Ruby in 3 weeks and also have Botticelli.  I chose it mainly because our cabin is only 2 decks up towards the aft.

Just to clarify, you have the correct information from @skynight.  If your two bookings are properly linked by the reservation agent, or your TA, in POLAR system, then you won't even be offered or able to book a return flight in the Cruise Personalizer for the first voyage segment.  When you go into the second voyage segment, you will not be able to book a flight TO the port - only the return flight home.

That's interesting.  We have our first B2B cruises coming up Oct 1 and while it shows up in the Medallion app as one cruise (i.e book dining for both cruises once, etc.) I had the option to book R/T EZAir tickets.  I booked one way since the price was the same.  I guess my TA didn't link them properly.

  8. Back to back requirements seem to have changed.

Will I be able to book multiple cruises, back to back?

Yes, we offer back-to-back bookings, subject to availability. Guests ages 5 and above on these sailings may be required to take a complimentary rapid antigen test before the second voyage – shipboard medical staff will notify guests of any testing requirements. Guests who test positive for COVID-19 may be required to disembark, and if so - will be entitled to a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC). We will closely monitor guidance from government and health authorities and will adapt and evolve this policy accordingly.

  9. If you have the right phone (pretty sure Samsung works-I have a Pixel) and the right cell plan (we have Verizon) you can use wi-fi calling.  If seamlessly uses Wi-Fi for calls and SMS texts.  We have poor cell service at our house and use it all the time.  Works great.  Should work on a cruise ship as well.

On the ship turn on airplane mode and then turn Wi-Fi back on.  This will turn off cell service.  If you don't do that it would try to use the ship's cell service.

  10. Under the CruiseHealth FAQ /Before you sail

Will I be able to book multiple cruises, back to back?

Yes, we will offer back-to-back bookings, subject to availability. Guests ages 5 and above on such sailings will need to take a complimentary rapid antigen test within two days of the second cruise if the that sailing includes a trans-ocean voyage or full Panama Canal transit and the itinerary is 10 days or more.

Guests who test positive for COVID-19 will not be able to sail on the next voyage, nor will their family members and close contacts who are not fully vaccinated. If you, your family members, travel companions or other close contacts are suspected of having COVID-19, you are entitled to a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC).
