  1. I totally agree, and I do have a spreadsheet, but sadly I still get a little creep. Some cruises are easier than others to prep for, a full Caribbean during the summer is harder than a winter coming from the PNW ( We do not like to freeze on the way home) is I was a flying crewmember so most of the time it was how many green bags to take. Good thing my DW is understanding, but I still get to bag drag her stuff. But there have been some ideas that I will use. Thanks to all
  2. I used to do this for military deployments and past cruises, but for some reason I always experience something called "clothes creep". If I do this too soon before I actually leave, I always seem to think "what if....." and add something. Could be an OCD thing, but don't think so. Oh, just thought of something I might need on my next cruise.............
  3. Pool desk starboard side just in front of the slide. Plus the starboard side of the casino. Also one small area at the starboard front of the Haven sundeck. ( I get the feeling it is a Starboard thingy) These are the only areas I know of.
  4. We use them from time to time for our longer cruises. I like the fact that they can keep clothes organized, semi wrinkle free and they are easy to pack. On the other hand, they can make it very easy to over pack and mess with airline weight limits. I say this especially for guys as it seems our clothes weigh more. Rolling clothes and packing the cube to the max are pretty easy at time. We use a hand held scale to ensure there is not a 55 lb elephant in our realm. Bottom line for me is, as a chronic overpacker, my DW helps me utilize a reasonable combination of cubes and a side with gently packed items for weight control. Hope this helps some from that has a love/hate relation with them. >grins< Jay
  5. It is always good to ask your TA or NCL contact. We have friends that use walking sticks and cannot walk far in one go. They always ask for an accessible cabin if available, and request wheelchair assistance embarking and disembarking. It is a long walk for those that need some help. As far as I know, they have never been challenged and the room is a little/lot more open for them. All they can do is say "no", and I doubt that would happen if there are accessible cabins open.
  6. @GOARMY do they take the guests to the ship in any particular order? Suites, concierge, etc? Or is it first come blah blah blah....? Not that I am worried, I figure if they are transporting us, then they will wait for us. thanks Jay
  7. Is this the way stateside also? We will be in the herd of cats at the Biltmore. Thanks Jay (go Air Force.... hehehe)
  8. Congrats on your advancing tier status! I learned the hard way that you have to go to the Latitudes desk on embarkation day and sign up for this tour. I missed our first couple chances by waiting for them to let us know and then they were full. They will tell you when the tour is - most typically a sea day. It usually entails a trip to the main galley, the laundry, and along I-95(as they call it). We found it very interesting, but once or perhaps on different ships, a couple times. Ours did entail some stair climbing longer walks. To see the engine room or perhaps the bridge you need to pay for that tour which was a good use of my non-refundable OBC from world points. So they are a little different. Hope this helps a little. Jay
  9. Donna, We love the Encore Haven! Please tell Genina and Paul that Jay and Nina (pronounced nine-ah) say hello. We sailed with them on a back to back Seattle-Alaska - Seattle to Miami last year. They are both great. Take care Jay
  10. Not sure about Tournaments, but from the Regent website they have virtual tours of the casinos most if not all look like they have Blackjack and poker. Along with Roulette and craps. Hope this helps some.
  11. Question, we will be on the Mariner in Nov 2024. The last room review was from 2021. If we do a review from our cruise, will that replace or augment the existing one? thanks Jay
  12. I am getting Periodic website unavailable when I try to access. But I was able to initially get in and see my information from the "My Account Home" tab. I was able to click on my "Manage this booking" from there. Perhaps the website issue is hindering you. If you are working with a Regent cruise consultant, I might suggest reaching out to them vs the generic (if you will) online staff.
  13. @Kwaj girl - thanks so much! I appreciate the information.
  14. HI, just to reawaken this string. Does the Mariner have comp classes? Spin? yoga? Whatever? I am curious, looking for 2024 cruisers that may have noticed or participated. This old guy needs to "earn" his evening "imbibe-acation" (I made up that word, I think). Thanks Jay
  15. I hear you, so many nuances across the NCLH brandings. Kind of like when I was in the USAF, "consistently inconsistent" is the motto.
