  1. I just called about my welcome amenity (diamond plus),.

We also went over the complimentary room upgrade perk. I had apparently set restrictions like no deck lower than what I have booked, etc. I removed all restrictions. He said that upgrades are sent via email. All as if they still occur. Mike probably doesn't know any better. My point is that not only is the perk still on the website, but also in the computer system.

With ships sailing at low capacity the upgrade fairy should be out there. I'm going to go to Guest Services to see if they have "Ship at full capacity. No cabin upgrades available." still on display. or maybe a new version! But I'll definitely ask!

  2. I read that Royal will provide Covid testing onboard for those that need it for travel at disembarkation. I think the test is conducted the day before disembarkation. I wonder if they would do that in my case. I have a RCL cruise booked which leaves Port Canaveral the Sunday after the Saturday I disembark in Miami on another RCL ship.

I am pretty sure that B2Bers on the same ship get on-board testing. But what about cases like mine? Would they give me the onboard test Friday (or Thursday) and thus be within the three day rule that they've imposed? Otherwise I'll have to rush to get a test done the Saturday I'm driving North.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Hopefully someone out there has done the same. I know it's early in the cruising season.

And I know I can ask onboard or call. I would ask onboard regardless. This just helps with planning.

  3. I too don't understand why your hubby couldn't go home with you? like, what if you needed his help at home to recuperate? surely, you needed groceries and what not. couldn't you leave two of your luggage behind for someone else to put in your car? Or is it really because your spouse didn't test positive that they wouldn't "pay" to fly him home with you?

  4. I just asked this in another thread....for experience this year.

Because the FAQ says yes, but my eDocs say no.

    This is from my eDocs:

    Alcohol Policy

Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines (vermouth, sherry, sake, and port wines) or nonalcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests may bring personal wine or champagne onboard only on embarkation day, limited to two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750 ml each per stateroom. Wine should be brought onboard via carry on if possible.

  5. This thread went downhill quickly. Why are people so up in arms about water!

So has anyone recently taken on board nonalcoholic beverages? I'm interested in taking Mountain Dew.  The FAQ says ok, but the eDocs for my August Symphony cruise says no. I guess I'll try regardless. But really does anyone have any experience? Seen it done? THIS year? Thank you.

RCL website has a May 13 update but nothing about cancelling July cruises.  https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/itinerary-updates

I'm trying to figure out what the May 13 update actually would have been. Was Adventure always slated to sail out of Nassau through October (vs just September)?

The only change is a deletion of this paragraph under the Lift & Shift option:

    • If your sailing was cancelled on:

    - April 8th, 2021, please contact your Travel Advisor or call us by April 22nd, 2021 to move to a new sailing.

I see that Freedom of the Seas is shown as still having complimentary facilities. Didn't those get removed when she was "amplified"? It's not 100% clear from the current deck plans, but I thought there were some pretty major changes in the fitness center area, and it looks like there are new cabins where at least some of what was once locker room was located.

maybe a "latest update" date column needs to be added to take into account these renovations. or rather the age of the presented information?

Question here regarding the spreadsheet - I can’t access rows76-146 approx. Any suggestions?

Somebody had set up to filter out blanks or missing information. I noticed the question column titles were missing and some Comments were misplaced.

So I restored the spreadsheet back to when it looked right, from January 2021.

All the rows are showing now.

I'm recently divorced and have only traveled with my ex-husband.  What does everyone do with their valuables when they are on a beach?  Is it better to be on a private beach?  I have a plastic thing that goes around your neck with enough room for my phone and some cash.  Any other ideas?

Do the same thing you did when you were married? Unless, of course, only one of you went for a swim at a time.

I take the bare minimum valuables. I hide my wallet and phone wrapped up in something so it is rather difficult to just walk by and grab. Folding the chair over to cover everything helps.

Rarely do I bother a neighbor to watch stuff, but I will if they're friendly or if there are many beach vendors.   I think it's silly looking to wear it around your neck but not outrageous. I even see people do it on the ship!!

(and most of the people on the beach ARE from the ship(s))

we are looking at some crown loft suites for mid july on symphony and the prices on cruiseplum are 8k where as the prices on royal website are 14k.  Any idea why I'm seeing such a differential in pricing?

Cruiseplum downloads a few times a day from some central database....I'm told...but maybe just a bit out of date in your particular instance.Cruise prices do fluctuate hourly if not daily. If it continued throughout the day, there must be a glitch.

Please keep in mind we are not allowed to name or discuss travel agents on this site.

maybe you're concerned about future posts, and I'm not sure why you're moderating, but in case it's about the OP....

You should try the site out before commenting. That site is a wonderful search engine site. It is not a travel agency and does not book cruises. Links within take you only to the cruiseline's website. I spoke with the owner who created the site because they love to cruise and wanted to share their programming that they created as a hobby.
