  1. ....

And I have a late flight back can you take note of what is the last time to leave the ship, sorry to mention that when you have just started.

    Many thanks

they have you covered. Just let them know. I received the disembarking instructions today.

    And, because I'm doing a b2b, I got a letter for that too. 6786298505926a84e817703e75fb9d42.jpgb4befa644b52a3abc51e1d4aa3dbf747.jpg

  2. lots of dress up theme nights :D is there quite a party atmosphere on board? is it mainly Spanish or many English speakers too ?
there aren't many venues... really just four --- the casino lounge, the rendezvous lounge, the disco, and the coffee bar. But yes, very lively.

If an English speaking cruiser gets involved with the activity, they'll do English. Likewise French, German. They're there to please. If you stay in background and assume they know you're there, they won't.

  3. Hello thanks for the menus , can I ask what time the dinner sittings are? I think we asked for the early sitting (knowing that might be late enough) are the menus the main dining room ? Also the Gala menu did they also have a Vegetarian menu?

    We are so excited :D

one question do you have to put your toilet paper in a bin instead of flushing? we are on Deck 5 outside room

what are you in and where are you ?

Have fun and thanks again for posting the info on Pullmanur is sparse

Dinner seating is 7:30 and either 9:30 or 10.

They do have a vegetarian menu readily available on gala night.

I am in room 4120 and have no problems with toilet paper in toilet. I do have a problem with being above a repair shop. (Hammering, metal clanking) and one night the captain was doing something for at least a half hour that made the ship shake as if docking. Like trying to sleep on a noisy train! But that was just once. Of course when docking there's no sleeping either.

  4. Now im confused about the toilet because on 1 of the daily planners it says to NOT put toilet paper in the toilet but in the trash bin however on another daily planner it says you can put toilet paper in the toilet !!!!!!!! so can you or cant you??? or does it depend on the day ????
I had read that a cruiser on Horizon had to discard toilet paper in bin. But my steward said it's ok to discard in toilet. Lots of normal signage to ONLY discard the provided toilet paper in toilet.

So I am thinking that either that cruiser's vacuum system was malfunctioning temporarily or it just depends on where your cabin is. I'm in 4120.

All the public bathrooms have same signage of discarding only toilet paper in toilet.

  5. Thanks very much, Tiger 91 - I'm thinking about the same cruise soon, so this is really useful. Where are you, and how is the weather?

today we're in La Palma. Weather has been overcast in some cities sunny in others. Depends on the winds. Most people are wearing jackets where not sunny.

  6. Or bring a bottle on board and pay the corkage fee. It beats trying to sneak booze around like you are in jail.
Who's sneaking like they're in jail? The wine is free to enjoy.

I only said hide the glass because stewards like to clean up. But heck, use the glass from the sink. Whatever.

  7. I recommend you pack an empty beverage container and funnel. EVERY time you go to your cabin, even after breakfast, bring along a glass of wine and store up for a nice, long afternoon on the balcony without having to leave for the bar.

Obviously, consider bringing a container for each wine brand/variety as necessary.

And for chilled wine, consider the mini fridge constraints.

Finally, make sure you hide an empty glass or two so the steward doesn't clean it away.

  8. As a follow-up, I have been on several cruises since my query in January. I have been denied using the voucher for two solo meals. You have to give the certificate you get in your cabin to the hostess with the first meal.

But I often smile and try to charm the wait staff by innocently querying if I could "Please get two appetizers. They look so delicious." I'm saving them money by not ordering a second entree (if i had company). They usually smile and say something like, "that's ok. I'll take care of it." But my last meal the waiter said it wasn't ok, but he'd take care of it.

I watched as he gathered the bill. He had to take it to someone out of view before returning to the computer to do a final print. Maybe I should talk to the maitre'd so the wait staff doesn't have to make the decision.

As far as laundry goes, you get a voucher for that too on the first day that should be placed in the laundry bag. I once didn't bother filling out the quantity of clothing on the laundry slip because it was all Zero cost, but I got it sent back to fill out. Must be a protocol thing. I also write PLATINUM FREE BAG on slip and PLATINUM on bag.

And on this last transatlantic, 14 days, they gave us an extra free bag of laundry, but not a second voucher. They said to just write Platinum on the laundry slip.

  9. So I finally made it back to the room to clean up for the evening events...

There aren't any baskets under my bed- just my suitcase and what looks to be a large plastic bag filled with extra linens.

    What is a hassock?

Don't worry. there are no baskets or lidded stools on Escape. They are in the Epic studios though.

Strangely, the stools in the studio lounge do have removable lids.

Your review isn't mentioning the solo club. Are you not attending the gatherings?

  10. Are EMPTY bottles allowed? I'm a bit of a Crystal Lite peach iced tea junkie. Usually bring empty 2 liter bottle to hotels with me and mix with tap water (started when travels took me to places with horrible tap water and I could barely afford bottled water). I suppose I could ask room service for a pitcher but bottle fits better in cabin fridge.

If not will manage... somehow! [emoji2]

Empty bottles are even cool in airplane carryons. Yes you can bring them.

  11. There are no bumper cars on the Bliss. Just race cars. The Joy has both.

I would be shocked if there isn't a charge. My guess is it will be $5 pp, based on the cost on Joy. Can you imagine the line there would be with 4000 passengers onboard?? They charge for the arcade, bowling (on ships that have it).

I just read on RCCL board that they do not charge for bumper cars so I am hoping that NCL will do the same or my cruise bill will be crazy or I will have mad kids for saying no I am not paying.;p
