We travel with two 26" suitcases and two 20" carryons.  The carryons go inside the suitcases and both easily fit underneath the bed even with a bundle of extra bedding underneath.  We've never had any problem.

Question for @StrikeEagle did you try adjusting the bag of linens and blankets to accommodate your cases.

On the last cruise, we had four adults in a standard-sized interior cabin. Each person had a check-in luggage around 28-29 inch and a carry-on around 21inch. (4 check-in, 4 carry-ons)  Yes, of course, on every cruise, I tried to push those bags of beddings all the way in, and sometimes the room attendant helped us push them in as well.

Before the last cruise, we had three adults, each with a 28-29 inch checked luggage and a 21-inch carry-on. (3 check-in 3 carry-on)  Still, one checked luggage ended up in the corner of the room.

The original question was meant to ask because I'm just curious when the room attendant put things under the bed, cutting back our storage space. This action is not for us but for the next cruise. That's why I asked if it is standard for them to do this.

No, that is not normal and I would have put the plastic bag out in the hallway if I had gotten that response !  Unfortunate that you received that response.

We ALWAYS remove the duvet that is in the plastic bag and use it on our bed as a comforter during the day (for naps).  With that out of the way, the plastic bag is pretty much empty and the plastic bag is not really a problem anymore.

I completely understand that the "kit" (as they call it) is to prepare them for the next turnaround...but that's not my problem.  It's not as if they don't have access to another duvet !

Thank you,  that happened to us on the last cruises on Harmony and Ovation.

  3. Hello everyone.  On the cruise, when we tried to store our luggage underneath our bed (which was put together), we found many bedding linens/sheets/blankets already stored underneath there, leaving not much room for our luggage. The stateroom attendant told us that he put them there to prepare for the next cruise. This was not on the last night or at the end of the cruise, but on the very first day when we boarded the ship. I asked him to take them away so we could put our luggage underneath, but he wouldn't. Is it normal for the stateroom attendant to do this? Has anyone successfully requested them to take it away?
    Thanks

  4. For those who have been to Money Bar recently, within the last year, is the entrance and usage of umbrellas and chairs free as long as you eat and drink there?

    Thanks

  5. Has anyone noticed recently that when you reserve My Time Dining, it blocks out 5 hours 30 minutes from your cruise calendar and you cannot book anything in between that. For example, if you book MTD at 7:15 pm, it blocks 5 hours 30 minutes from your calendar and you cannot book a show starts at 10:15pm.  And vice versa, when I book a show at 10:15pm I cannot book MTD for that whole evening at all because of the 5 hours 30 minutes it has to reserve for MTD.  This is ridiculous.

  6. Does anyone having log in issues with the Royal App on your cellphone today (not counting if you are already stay login all the time).   I'm able to login into my RCI account using PC and the website,  but on the cell phone app (Android),  it kept on displaying "Sorry, we hit a snag, we're able to complete your request, so please try again later" after I put in my email address and password.
    Thanks

  7. Here are some pictures I took from Silk (MTD) dining room on Ovation few weeks ago.  We have 5 people dining with us and most of the tables were setup for 4 or 2.  They were able to put 4 and 2 tables together for us.   With that said,  looking at these pictures largest table I see is for 8.  May be they can put toghether table for 8 and 2 or other configuration to accomodate your party of 9.

  8. Yes we enjoyed our balcony cabin during Alaska cruise every single day.  It was not that cold as you may think also may be due to the dividers between the cabin to shield the wind.   Best side of the ship for balcony cabins for Alaska cruise is the starboard side IMHO.

We have been watching daily for the opportunity to get reservations on NorthStar for our September Alaska cruise. It showed up the other day and says sold out already. Is this possible, or have they not actually released them? Not sure how close to sailing they release these things.

    CG

yes that is possible NS is sold out.  Our June 9th sailing on Ovation, North Star extended experience was sold out sometimes in March.   Keep in mind that for the NS ride,  there are 2 version the Extended version costs $19 which can be book online in advance and the free version which is available on port days during the cruise.   The extended version go up/down and also sideway left and right the free version only go up and down.   The free version can be book when you are on the ship only and available on port days.

  10. Question about the crystal block.  I myself has 139 points,  my wife on her status showing 139 points dues to me.   Her actual cruising points is 131.   I was on Ovation one week ago and I received a crystal block on my 2nd day, but she does not.  The question here is does RCI give out the crystal block to only one per family/relation?   Or RCI gives out the crystal block to everyone regardless if you are in the same family/relation BUT it is based on the actual cruising points of the individuals.  Can someone clarify this.

    Thanks

@OCSC MikeI have that font style on my first Ovation, from Oct/2022 cruise.
@StrikeEagleI just got my 2nd Ovation today, and it was new style. I personally like it better, because the color pops..LOL

are you on the June 16th sailing?   I was on the June 9th sailing.  May be our June 9th cruise was the last batch of the left over old style ones.  🙂

Can you post a picture of the Ovation with the new style one.  Thank you
