We were on this cruise.  The next day we were told by the crew these were false positives.  No more announcements after the initial announcement

The “crew”??? I’d be a little more sure of the info if the source wasn’t referred to as “the crew”. If “The Captain” made an announcement that they were false positives, then I believe it. And I truly believe that if they were false positives, the Captain would be making that announcement the minute the medical staff informed him of it. But “the crew” saying it means squat in my mind…..

  2. And at this point, everybody's attitudes are more likely than not being driven by the knowledge surrounding the transmissibility, seriousness of infection, efficacies of current vaccines, etc. of the currently know variants. So what happens when during the course of someone's cruise, a much more devastating variant is identified and somehow has made its way onboard. Do you still want silence on your ship? Do you still want to rely on whether you think you feel sick enough or have had contact with someone who is infectious? I believe this transparency now is a smart risk assessment on the cruise lines part, and I for one would appreciate it continuing to be able to act on my own, and my fellow passengers best behalf. Remember, when you are on a ship of 500 to 500 passengers, you are part of a new community, and really the best way to deal with this pandemic is to think in the best interest of your community. At least, that's what we used to do....

I can’t imagine that anyone knows at this point, especially with the new variant starting to spread.

Maybe I should ask this a different way....is Azamara currently sailing at full capacity where they are sailing?

The Ontario QR code (which is now a Canadian QR code; see the Canada logo on the top) is a Smart QR code, and should be verifiable anywhere in Canada (almost; not every province is there yet) and in many US states. The document itself also has all the information to prove your vaccination status; it will get you into the US, and it should be enough to get you an EU QR code, although you may have to jump through some hoops to get it. It should also be accepted anywhere that a US CDC card is accepted.

Again, as explained above...the EU Digital COVID certificate, HAS TO BE WITH EU approved vaccine and issued by the EU, not a digital or smart app from the US, or Canada, or Singapore, but ONLY FROM the EU (as I understand it at 10:00 CDT today...subject to correction or change)

  5. We have a cruise scheduled to Norway, and then a back to back that does Scotland on Azamara this coming July. As others have said, it is a long ways off, but not really that much... We traditionally like to book our flights about 7 months out at the latest, and we are not that far from that. In looking at Norway protocols today, even fully vaccinated US citizens can't enter, because we wouldn't have the Digital COVID vaccine documents that the EU has. It explicitly says "no paper COVID vaccine confirmations". And, with the onset of seasonal flu impacts, and most likely COVID spikes comparable to last winter, it is going to take quite a turn around, in my opinion, for Norway to decide to ease restriction.

Still having trouble here. Does anyone have a phone number? Emails don't seem to be jarring the door open.

Me too....I just emailed them again, and posted a Tweet to them at their Twitter account. No response yet, but it is in the last few minutes. My concern is, that with a trip coming up this next summer, and with COVID protocols in place restricting US passengers who are not in possession of a Digital COVID vaccine confirmation, which the US doesn't use yet, I would like to be on top of what we are looking at. I'm at a point...8 months out...where I would routinely be looking and booking flights. But not under these conditions.

I have been trying to use Choice Air to check on flights for my Amazara Quest cruise, June 11- 19, 2022 (Barcelona to Lisbon) and it states "temporarily unavailable" as well.  Does anyone have a phone number to contact Choice Air?  Thanks

That message has been posted on their search site for a couple of weeks. Kind of frustrating, as I like to compare prices between multiple engines and locations, as I have 3 available easy airports within a couple of hours, 1 being in Thunder Bay Canada, and I have found that Choice Air from Canada for international Business Class for me has been hundreds, if not more, cheaper than flying from my US options.

  8. About 5 months ago, I informed Azamara that I was getting zero correspondence from them. Some of you may see this is a massive positive, but I want to know that I am NOT supposed to be receiving anything regarding 2 cruises I have booked with them. I received an email at that time, that they would follow up "with their vendors". I heard absolutely zero in the ensuing 5 months and decided to email the Loyalty department again a week ago, and as of today, haven't even heard back from them. I use a generic gmail account, so I highly highly doubt they are being blocked from getting to me because of that. This has happened to us before from another cruise line, AND a large cruise consolidator that we use. I'm totally befuddled by what is going on?

  9. We are thinking of booking on the Edge for Australia in winter 2024. We sailed her a couple of years ago and absolutely love the ship. We are traveling with some very good friends of ours and we love to play cards. We have done aft facing verandas before and they were huge on RC. We are debating an E category with Infinite Veranda, which we had before and appear to be in the minority who very much liked the concept, or doing a Sunset Veranda even though it is a traditional sliding doored veranda. Part of the debate is centered around being on the aft as we are sailing in and out of the Sounds of New Zealand, and probably having to scope out a spot on a deck instead of using the rooms we have paid for (in the case of a SV), along with the larger SV veranda assumedly providing us enough room to play 4 chairs of cards there. Any feedback is appreciated.

I know.  It is shown in the “recommended excursions” at the top of the shore excursions page and it is confusing, isn’t it?  They need to edit.  The recommended excursions are full of Labadee offers!  At least Labadee is no longer listed as a port of call.

It's possible the situation in Haiti is developing a little quicker than the cruise line is able to respond to. I guess if it was me, in dealing with any ports of call that are originally expected to happen in an area of political strife, I'd probably be contacting the cruise line as opposed to a message board, and then sharing the cruise lines info.

It's been that way at least 2 days

Not to nit pick, but I checked the site 2 days ago when I started my most recent search, and while the site wasn't working, which it sounds like it hasn't been for a week or more, it DIDN'T have this more ominous disclaimer on it.

  12. So, this message is on the Choice Air site this morning...

ChoiceAir is currently unavailable. We are working to resolve the issue quickly and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

It might also be that the cruise air contracts aren't finalised and loaded even if the flight schedule shows on the reservation system.

Except, that about 2 weeks ago, it was showing flights that I searched for earlier this week...

Same problem for me. Others have also reported the site glitchy. My favorite search site is https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ which I believe is now owned by Google. I just learned that it is also prudent when you ae doing your return trip from a different country to do the search as 2 one-way trips as well as a multiple stop trip. Some choices came up for me that were more economical as a separate one-way to the cruise and one for the return home .

I've used Choice Air the past couple of trips for Business fares from either the US or Canada ( we live close to the border and have found fares extremely competitive compared to our extremely NOT competitive local 2 line international airport). The deal breaker for me with using Choice Air occured when we were in Sri Lanka on a Celebrity cruise when all hell broke loose with COVID and I was able to get through to CA minutes after getting the announcement of our turning back to Dubai on board the ship. I had my changes made in minutes while MANY people were relying on the ship for days to get their flights changed.

  15. Anyone else having issues searching flights with Choice Air this today? I'm trying to search flights from multiple airports near me for a cruise next July that will round trip through Dublin, that is well within the 330 day perimeter and I'm getting nothing back?? I don't want to call and spend hours searching multiple combinations with phone support yet, so for my circumstance its easier to do legwork myself and then include them when I have the final info.

  16. In April of this year, we booked the 14 day to Norway next July. We also booked the cruise after as a back to back, but had to take cabins next door to each other as the same cabin wasn't available where we wanted on both cruises. I just checked Azamara's site to see if by any chance the same cabin anywhere in our category was available on each cruise, and it is almost sold out. Not only that, but I believe the prices are about $5000 US more than when we booked?? Has anyone else noticed some crazy price increases?

The OP asked about marketing emails.  I do get the emails from Azamara that pertain to changes to my  bookings. If I need other info I check the website or here on CC.

I probably should have specified "marketing info or other non-marketing, but pertinent emails" as I had received absolutely zero emails from Azamara, even after trying to sign up to receive them multiple times AND having booked a B2B cruise with them that was ultimately transferred to my TA. I would have suspected their email system could handle 1 or 2 more interested customers....

I haven't gotten any and am quite happy about it.  I get about 20-30 various marketing emails daily, in addition to the spam that goes to my junk file.

I'm glad that not receiving any updates from the cruise lines about impacts from current events is fine with you. Myself, I would prefer to know that they are keeping their customers informed and that we have value to them.

  19. Is anyone else having issues with not getting ANY marketing info or emails from Azamara? We have 24 days booked as a B2B on the quest next summer and it will be our first cruise since Feb 2020. I have signed up for their materials multiple times, and still don't get any info from them? And yes, I have checked my spam..
