  1. Hi all😉, just contacted MSC because payment is due this month for my TA. Seems😚 MSC is running behind with approvals and status matching, was told that thats true about 2 months behind according to the very nice young man. I was assured that my

5% would be given as on board credit if payment date has passed. 😂 Any comments?

Just as a follow-up I checked.  (Note my wife will never use one, but I was confused how Disney can tell a disabled person they can't take their cane into the park).  Mobility canes/seats are not banned at Disney, just fold up camping chairs.  The difference is one is a cane, the other does not have a cane.  Although I agree that they are not the best item to use but the are not banned.

I used my cane at Disney last week. As long as I used it in the cane position no problem. I did open it for one of the parades and was asked to please not use it as a seat. Seats are not allowed. I will not bring it to Europe, will stick with my walker.

It seems you have some walking problems, why not also make a reservation with your airline for wheelchair transportation at the airport. That way you skip some walking and get priorty boarding etc.

Thanks I intend to do that! My worry is booking air in January than ship arrives late. So I am going to book a flight late in the afternoon to relieve the stress factor.

I'm Gold on Carnival and matched to Silver on MSC. Cheers to a free drink!

Hi "family" I am also "gold" on Carnival 39 points. I sent my paperwork in October and have not heard from MSC.

How long did it take for your approval? Sent picture of Carnival page with name and id# with list of cruises.

  5. Hello off MSC Meraviglia in Kiel May 2, 2020. I am elderly traveling solo and use a mobility walker.  Plan a flight on Air France  Hamburg to CDG.

Would I be able to book a 2:00 flight? Do I really need to be at CDG 2 hours before flight? If I am off

ship at 9AM take train directly to Hamburg airport, am I taking a risk?

    Thanks for any info.

  6. Hi Select,  I did read October financials that Norwegian seems to be sound for 2020. I am waiting until January to

purchase, dont know if I would be comfortable holding off until February for a May 10? flight. However, Norwegian is back on my list  because of price and convenience.

Yes,  TPA (Tampa)  and MCO (Orlando) are closest to me other than my home airport RSW (Fort Myers)

  7. Thanks again for the excellent info. Dont have enough points with Delta, used them over the summer.

From the feedback received,  better to purchase with Delta / Air France from CDG to MIA and book return to CDG about 70 days out.

  8. Hi, I use and travel with a  rollator . My sister has suggested that I also bring my cane-chair on MSC Meraviglia TA to use in some ports. Have any of you ever used this type of cane?

Would I be allowed to open it and sit? Tried it at Disney and not allowed to sit. Would it be considered a regular cane on airlines? Thanks for any info😊

  9. I have posted a similar question before so please dont rat me out.🙄 Need to purchase airfare from either Paris or London back to Florida. The dates

are probably May 10-12. I am on MSC Meraviglia TA and will be making final plans in January. Question If I buy Norwegian Air flights is there still a chance of failure 4 months out?

Believe they received money to last until Spring. Is May still Spring? Would really like to fly🧓 Virgin or Delta and not use return to Europe portion, but I use Delta

USA to visit family and dont want a mark against me.😆

  10. Have a question on status matching.  I have spread my cruising around different lines but I am "Gold" ( 38 points) on Carnival.

When filling out application for MSC it states photo of card with status is required. Dont believe I ever received a card from

Carnival. I took photo of sign in to with my member#  VIFP page showing points and status and sent that. Do you think it will be enough?

  11. Hi Jaymmz, I am sure there many more of us than you think. Of course I go "solo" but I am an old lady.

Why dont you visit the "Solo" board. You will find it below the Roll call boards.😀

  12. Selectsys, I am a Norwegian advocate. Happy to hear 2020 news on finances look good.  Next January I plan to book one way from either CDG or LGW. Hopefully the

rate for traveling next May will still be better than flying on other carriers. I live in FL so I have the luxury of being close to

3 airports that Norwegian is using at the present time. Westjet does fly from my home airport (RSW) and they offer one way.

Dont like the fact of getting a decent rate with BA or Air France I would need to purchase round trip and not use return portion.

  13. Almost the same issue but with a TA. My friend booked a MSC cruise for next summer. It only required a small deposit and the TA would pay the rest. She never read the fine print. If you cancel the cruise your credit card will be charge $100 even if cruise is 200 days out. She needs to cancel for health reasons.  I told her to cancel the credit card used. Probably not kosher but TA did received some money for booking upfront.
