  1. We're on the Nov. 20 - 30th cruise and the only excursions that show on the cruise personalizer are for Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Ft. Lauderdale, and the last ones just showed up recently. I did try the link above and excursions showed for all but Colon and the partial canal transit. Since I have to get through our Alaska cruise later this month before I start wondering about the November one, I didn't investigate too closely. BTW, we toured with Dora the Explorer before and she does a wonderful job. I highly recommend her.
  2. I've always said Ruby has the smallest bathrooms and largest closets I've ever found at sea. The shower curtains are just the usual dreaded wrap-around type, but the showers themselves are smaller than a lot of others so the curtains seem tighter.
  3. Our cruise starts June 25th of this year. Our ports are Sitka, Juneau, and Ketchikan. Are any of these tender ports? Last time we were in Juneau, I think it was a tender port, and we docked in Ketchikan but it was a bit of a hike into town. DH and I both are more orthopedically challenged than we were back then, so it's helpful to know. Thanks, Kathy
  4. Thanks. These must come with our Plus packages. They sound yummy! Kathy
  5. I notice our TA has purchased 2 specialty desserts for each of us on our upcoming cruise. I haven't sailed Princess since 2021 and don't remember seeing them before. What are they? I'm suspecting something extremely high in calories and/or alcoholic. Thanks, Kathy
  6. Thanks to all for your information. That's one less thing to worry about. Kathy
  7. We live in Ohio and are sailing out of Vancouver. We fly from CLE to ORD to YVR. I assume we will need to go through customs in Vancouver. Coming home, we fly from YVR to SFO to CLE. Where do we go through customs on our return? Vancouver and SFO? Thanks, Kathy
  8. I have downloaded the Royal app to my phone, but the phone is so small I hate watching anything on it. Is it possible to watch the Muster Drill Safety Video on the TV in the cabin? The last cruise we were on was on a different line and that's how we did it. Thanks, Kathy
  9. The chicken looks good to me. DH may prefer the spaghetti. Thanks for the information. Kathy
  10. Could someone please post the menu for Mexican night? It's the only one I'm really concerned about because of digestion problems with peppers. I'm hoping they offer something like taco salad without peppers. Thanks, Kathy
  11. Thanks, You are one thoughtful blogger. I'm sure we'll enjoy our iced treats. Kathy
  12. Thanks, Panda Bear. I know we got iced coffee on our Thanksgiving cruise on the Enchanted Princess in 2021, but I seem to recall it being listed separately on the menu. Kathy
  13. Thanks for the coffee menu. Is iced coffee available? DH and I enjoy a casual afternoon break with iced coffee and cookies or other treats from the International Cafe. Kathy
  14. Thanks for doing this blog. We will be on a partial transit Panama Canal cruise on the Ruby in November. We're sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale so our ports will be different but I'm looking forward to reading about the ship and your experiences. Kathy
  15. Wishing you a successful flight and a fun cruise. We've been on Lady G before, loved her, and will be on Brilliance with the grandkids (ages 8, 10, and 12) and our adult daughters and their spouses in June to Alaska. Again, it's a smaller ship, but they've never cruised before so I'm not worried that they'll miss what they've never had. And it's a good way to see if they'll enjoy the experience. Kathy D.
  16. We always get insurance that you can cancel for any reason. If you have this type of policy, there should be no problem. If not, it depends on your carrier. They may or may not be compassionate. I hope your friend's aunt does well. Kathy
  17. There's plenty to see in Hoonah without a tour. The old salmon cannery was very interesting to walk through, with lots of signage to explain the exhibits. This is also a good place to get authentic Alaskan crafts. Kathy
  18. When we were in Endicott Arm in August, temperatures were in the mid-50's. At home that's warm enough for just a sweatshirt. What I didn't take into account was the wind coming from all 5 directions, north, south, east, west, and straight down. I raced back to the cabin for my jacket, hat, and gloves.😀
  19. Thanks for all the information. I will ask my TA to request one. He's real good about details like that. Kathy
  20. As I recall, the last time we sailed Royal we had to request a special medical refrigerator. That was on Grandeur and we had one of the smaller balcony cabins. Next summer we will be on Brilliance in a "spacious balcony" cabin. Do they have refrigerators or will we have to request one? DH and I both have meds that need to be refrigerated. Thanks, Kathy
  21. We have a family trip planned for next summer. The only group activity we plan is dinner together every night. They suggested we select either early or late seating rather than anytime dining, so they would be sure of having a large table set for the 9 of us. Of course, this is a smaller group than the OP has coming, but it would still be easier on the dining room staff if they could plan for a specific time every night. Kathy
