1. Congratulations. :D

    Thanks Sarah.......... :D

Yay Shiona......yep, only taken us nearly ten years:eek::p

    Chez

Thanks Chez, hey we joined at the same time back in the good old days haven't things changed since then....... !!!!!!!:eek:

I only just realized i could have bumped up my post count quicker if i had done like others do and not replied to more than one post on one post....... does that make sense..... bahahahahaha

  2. Out of interest without the link would you be able to share with us the pricing and also SF-Sydney if possible.

Did I read the add correctly?

You may have :) have seen pricing - inside from AU$1608 pp, outside from $1940 pp for SF - Syd not sure about obc, I have a hold on another sector and have £100 each obc was only expecting £50 maybe extra as we are past pax ....who knows....cheers Shiona

  3. have you any more details tried the web page price was for one person not 2 regards Irene and Stan

Hi Irene and Stan in case you come back here before checking your email I have just emailed you a link to some keen pricing;);) on this and the SFO to BNE sector........... hope you are both well.... cheers Shiona and John :D

  4. I have just looked closely at the 2016-17 cruises of the Star and I think they are going to be heavily booked very quickly. We will be making some decisions very soon about visiting lots of new places.

At last some slightly cheaper air fares!! :)

    Mike & Pauline

Poms by Birth; Kiwis by Choice

We are going to look at booking the Star's return to Venice from Singapore March 2017....fantastic ports some we have been to some we haven't ;)... it means changing a few things like cancelling a cruise and making our Xmas visit to our sons in Edinburgh an Easter "ish" one....... but nothing too difficult..

Haven't cruise with NCL before...plenty with Princess, PO UK and RCCL so a change will be nice..... :D:D bring on the itineraries please Mr NCL :):D.

    cheers Shiona

Lololol just saw your post about a release around 24 Aug.... just our luck we will be on Sun Princess.... guess the free internet will come in handy checking out the NCL deals..............lolololololol

  5. Celebrity have repos going this way too. This is the Celebrity itinerary

But not nearly as good as the proposed itinerary for NCL. Well that's what I think. I never really considered NCL before. But looking up their itineraries, they have some quite interesting ones.

Thanks for sharing Sarah, the itinerary is good but the NCL one is much much better...not even having Captains Club Elite status with Celebrity will sway the decision... this cruise will be all about the ports for us ........ haven't cruised NCL before either so it will be a new experience ... will let John have a lookie-see but think he will agree with my call........:D:D

    cheers Shiona

  6. That is what I am like. Nothing is set in stone until I make final payment on the cruise. Everything prior to that is movable. I like this cruise or cruises as its got a lot of stops

Like your style Sarah.... I showed John your post to prove it's not just me :D Waiting patiently now for the release... bet it happens when we are on the Sun Princess later this month....... guess my freebie allowance of internet will be handy for keeping abreast on things in the NCL world..... :)

  7. Yeap. Its a nice itinerary. Question is how much I might have to do some tweaking of plans.

:D:D tweaking is what it's all about ;) .....my poor John is never quite sure exactly what we are doing and where we are going until final payment time..:D:D as for price, so many of the ports we want to visit and revisit and all at one time..... looks like 2016 will be our "travel diet year........

  8. Love love love Portugal full stop :)

We docked in Lisbon December last year there was a public transport strike on traffic was gridlock..... total bedlam thankgoodness we were heading out of town on our ships tour to Fatima.....fantastic day ... stunning sailaway at dusk... :)

Same cruise we had a half day in Gibraltar just enough time to head upwards on the cable car .... a must do if calling by :)

  9. Just recalled that I first saw Johnny Devlin as a support act for the Beatles, at the Festival Hall, in Brisbane, in 1964!

My John worked with him around 1976 in a Brisbane club called Blinkers.... just down the road from DB's....my Johns second home....... Johnny Devlin just like my John whether they smoked or not would have been smoking for Australia in clubs such as there were back then.....no extractors or smoking bans in those days ....... no wonder they both require/required bypass grafts :eek:

  10. Great value on Inside gty.......

Sun Princess ex Bne 20 August 15.... 10 nights South Pacific - insides from $880 pp.....using an FCC as our deposit, finally found an agency that accepts them, we ended up with $275 obc between the two of us...:D:D She's not our favourite class of ship but for the price paid and extra's on offer we will have a wonderful time...... ;):D:D

an added bonus for us was Saturday night John scored 3rd division in lotto which paid for 3/4 of the cruise.....:D

  11.
Just a guess eh?
Hahahahahahahah..... cannot tell a lie i have been following the deployment schedule on the RCL board..........if i'm wrong it's their fault :D:D
Thanks for the heads up.... I guess that means I need to stay up late that night as 0900 your time is 0200 here in Istanbul. The things I do to fulfill my obsession...
:D:D love your commitment to the obsession... i would be the same Debbie ;):D

I am on RCL email list and registered for the Ovations info but they never send me anything.....guess we're not special enough... lol
  12. We didn't know any different back then in 2007, when we paid a premium, did we, Shiona? And yes, it was definitely well worth it. A ship full of Aussies, with a token Kiwi couple - WOW, what wonderful memories!

I couldn't even book through a recommended TA, as bookings had to be through a Cruiseco TA, at list price.

Considering the product we had here back then, which i might add at the time wasn't exactly cheap !!! we thought the price for such a stunningly beautiful and modern ship cruising from Honolulu back to Sydney via Tahiti was reasonable ...... lol..... and a bottle of wine was thrown in to boot.....totally agree about it being well worth it.....fantastic memories :D

I was on the Voyager when it first came to Australia (Freemantle to Sydney via NZ)

As I am on the Ovation from Barcelona to Singapore I would love to complete the Journey by doing the Singapore to Sydney section but at those prices I think that I might save my money for the Sydney to Singapore leg.

We too were on Voyagers first Australian run, once again fantastic cruise .... and around $1000 pp less than we paid for Rhapsody... we got wise :D

Have a great time on Ovations Barcelona to Singapore run.... we did the Mariner of the Seas repo from Barcelona to Dubai.... wonderful cruise....loved the Suez canal transit and our ships tour to Petra, Jordan.... very long day but well worth the money we paid......... :D

We will wait and see what she is doing in late 2017 hoping for Singapore to Sydney run.... :)

  13. We paid the premium

when we booked onboard Rhapsodys first cruise to Australia via Cruisco in 2007 so why should Ovation's first cruise via Cruiseco be any different... you are purchasing a novelty, a first ... so of course the pricing will be high ... this time we will wait till the novelty is over before booking :) ... welcome Ovation :)

  14. I haven't had that one yet. It would not be of any interest anyway , as I am very busy since receiving another which has invited me to be the US Ambassador to Nigeria.

    :D:D do you need a secretary David !!!!! ......

so many of these scams about, and not just travel one's, it is so disappointing and worrying that still so many people are being sucked in ... identity theft DOES and CAN happen ...wake up, guard your online presence and check out the link making sure it is real before you give your life away...another thing that stuns me is the number of folk who put all of their details, short of actual street address, in their profiles.....even their real birth dates ........:eek: not me I made one up.....make the thieving b**t*rds work harder if they want to steal me.. I say... :D:D....

  15. Explorer of the Sea's April 23 2016
    24 nights Sydney to Seattle
Lots of sea days, includes 2 days Fiji and 2 days Lahaina
Keenly priced for an inside at $1668pp including tips or $1342pp without !!!!!

Bargain for anyone thinking of heading that way.... we have a hold on a cabin just need to build a holiday around it.......... as you do......... :)
  16. I cruised on the inaugural Aussie charter from Hawaii to Sydney in 2007. It was a memorable fun cruise in every way, from adapting breakfast by getting rid of the unpopular grits, reduction in sweet food, and running out of real tea and having to restock in Tahiti and Fiji. Great crowd and great itinerary!

We did too Marion😄 i was devastated when they removed the "grits" love them ... lots of fabulous memories .... guess what i am posting this from the Rhapsody only fitting seeing we did the first one in that we do her last.... showing her age now but still a lovely girl .... cheers Shiona

  17. 5 days only ..... We ended up with 10 days in a row on the 90 dayer..... Lol

More the merrier for us :D ...we had 8 in a row on Arcadia's LA to Melb last year......loved them .... agree the Ocean Princess is top of the list for this cruise itinerary...... country club atmosphere is wonderful ...what she lacks in size she makes up for with her great big heart :D..... going to miss her :(
