  1. Sorry, but what is “elite crowd” you speak of? We have elite loyalty status, but the bartenders don’t treat us any differently than anyone else, nor would we want them to. I doubt if they’re superior because they’re used to us super important people, but because they are simply good at their job. Some of us are elite status, but apparently some of us are elitists.
  2. We live 2+ hours north west, about 15 minutes from Blue Mountain. We have broken all recorded snow fall events in history. Our sons live in Toronto and we FaceTimed with them today and they couldn’t believe their eyes! We now have accumulated almost 4 feet of snow. All highways in and out are closed. It is brutal!
  3. I’m in! Problem is we just got four feet of snow where I live and all roads are closed in and out. I’ll take a rain check!
  4. Oh, you are so fancy! I just used the bottled stuff, put some celery and a lemon wedge in the glass and call it a Caesar! I’m coming to your house! lol
  5. They just buy Clamato juice, bottled by Mott’s. Readily available in all grocery stores in Canada, and I would assume, the US. Just the right mix of tomato juice and clam juice.
  6. Delicious! The Bloody Caesar is a Canadian concoction from years ago, based on the American version of the Bloody Mary. Both are great, especially if well endowed with veggies and shrimp!
  7. Just to add that all adults occupying the same stateroom must both purchase the drink package, if purchased separately. If you choose the cruise fare that includes Plus, all adults in the cabin are covered. Children will be allowed non alcoholic beverages instead of alcoholic beverages in the package. As mentioned, the Plus Package will only cost $50.00 per person per day and includes wifi, gratuities, alcoholic beverages, water, specialty coffees and fountain sodas.
  8. He was on Emerald Princess June 2019, but no idea where he is performing now.
  9. No crystal ball here, but USUALLY there is something offered. A new and improved promo (which usually reflects a higher cruise fare), decreased deposits, and sometimes a real sale with somewhat reduced fares. We won’t know til we know.
  10. You don’t have to make reservations on the app. Just show up at the MDR when you’re ready to eat. Traditional dining per se is gone, but lots of folks have been able to secure the same table at the same time each night once onboard.
  11. We’ve sailed on both lines and, to be honest, you get what you pay for. I don’t find Princess at all “stuffy”, but apparently you’d like a more Carnival atmosphere. You won’t find that on Princess. Good fun? Yes. Rowdy fun? No. Relaxing pool area with decent music? Yes. Hairy chest, stuff fruit in your swimsuit contests, conga lines, extremely inebriated guests in the pool and hot tubs? No. Good food in the MDR served on linen tablecloths? Yes. Good service? Yes. Elegant decor? Yes. On Carnival ships, this would be a definite No. Our last Carnival cruise was in 2010, when we decided to give them another try. The first day, we realized that this just was not for us, anymore. We’ve been offered numerous free cruises through their Player’s Club and never accepted their offer. Even free is too much. I cannot even imagine spending our 40th anniversary on a Carnival ship. I want to make it very clear this is our own personal opinion and many people will disagree, and that’s perfectly fine. Choice is what makes life interesting. I’m sure a few CC members will chime in with their experiences with both lines. Whichever line you choose, have a wonderful time and have a Happy Anniversary!
  12. Thanks for correcting me. I really had no idea and I’ve not received anything from Princess regarding our upcoming cruise on Regal.
  13. Jimmy…..just wow! Probably the best cruise review I’ve ever read on CC and we’re not even close to the finish line. Are you, by any chance, a professional writer? If not, you should be. Cannot wait to read about the rest of your adventure!
  14. Of course they know the date of my birthday! However, unless I make a big deal about it and request recognition in the form of a cake, etc., then absolutely nobody could care less.
  15. Honestly, if my DH and I are on a cruise during either a birthday or anniversary, we keep it to ourselves. We have zero interest in singing waiters or run of the mill birthday cake. We prefer to celebrate together with a good bottle of wine on our balcony with some nice cheese and crackers that we grab at the buffet. Now, that’s a celebration!
  16. I’ve sailed on many Princess ships since the ‘90s and I honestly do not remember ever experiencing this. Which ship and when did you see this? I wouldn’t bother calling Princess, their current employees have very little knowledge in this area. Sorry, I just saw this was recently advertised on the ship hosting the Real Loveboat tv reality show. This is not something you will find fleetwide.
  17. Yup, when it works it’s great! Unfortunately, for us this time, it just didn’t. I just figure you win some, you lose some and I’m still going on a British Isles cruise!
  18. Thank you! As always, great advice. I cannot believe that price you paid…….good on you! I will definitely keep watching EZAir just for curiosity sake. Next time we won’t have a voucher, so more flexible with flight options. Happy travels to you!
  19. We were surprised that Air Canada online booking is less expensive than EZAir. We absolutely need to choose our seats when booking (Air Canada will not allow seat selection without being ticketed) and if we do a ticketed fare with EZAir, flexible perks will disappear. Also, we just confirmed that our Air Canada voucher, which is substantial, can only be applied booking directly with AC. So, we have booked directly with AC and chosen our desired seats.
  20. We’re booked on Regal Princess British Isles in September 2023. Flights with Princess just became available this morning….Toronto to London return. Checked prices first with the airline (Air Canada) and assumed that Princess would be less than AC. In fact, EZAir was just over $300.00 more! Yes, I know that we don’t need to pay for flights until final payment, but we like to be ticketed immediately so that we can choose our seats right away. With Air Canada you cannot do otherwise. As the price of flights can increase in a matter of hours, I’m inclined to think we should snag the lower fares offered on Air Canada. @Steelers36You usually have good advice on flights out of Canada, so I thought perhaps you have some ideas. We also have a substantial AC voucher with no expiry date, which I’m sure cannot be used on flights booked with EZAir. My only advice is to check the airline prices before booking EZAir. I completely assumed incorrectly.
  21. I read your entire thread and I hope the communication that you sent to Princess was a more condensed and thoughtful version. To be honest, you haven’t heard from them because nobody has the time to read it through it’s entirety. Try again and just do the bullet version, leaving out your personal opinions. Be concise and to the point. As to your complaint, I do understand that having your vacation interrupted by illness is extremely frustrating. However, I don’t understand what you’re hoping to get from Princess now that you’ve disembarked and are at home. “A comprehensive package of relevant information”. What more do you want to know? I’m also sure that every single cruise line is handling guests who contract Covid exactly the same as Princess. Please don’t bother to threaten Princess with “never cruising with Princess again!” Your letter will never see the light of day. Good luck and I hope you receive some satisfaction if and when Princess replies to you.
  22. They either take it and return it the night before disembarkation or you may be able to take it onboard without declaring it (good luck with that). They will not take it and not return it, so no worries about that.
  23. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your dear husband. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
  24. My senior brain needs a tuneup! Thanks for the correct information. You learn something new everyday here on CC.
