  1. Just renewed mine. Got the form at my local post office. Yes, I did have to send in my old passport. Had to go get the proper photo taken. (Got mine done at AAA for just a few dollars, but I think Walgreens Drugs, and probably lots of other "photo shops" could do it.) Renewal was relatively quick. Got my new one back in about two weeks, with no problems. Your first stop should be the post office to get the proper forms, and instructions. Your old passport will be returned to you, either with the new one, or as mine was, just a week or so later. Good luck, and "Git-R-Done". ;)

    "SKY"

You can also find the forms online. You can type in all your info and print it off along with the instructions.

  2. So, let's say they find something of concern in my checked bag. It could be a power strip, fan, vodka or an iron.

On NCL you receive a notice instead of your bag directing you to a location. Your bag is opened/searched while you are present.

    What's the procedure on CCL?

If your luggage is unlocked they will open it. They will leave a note advising that a search was done. If they confiscated anything the note will advise you where to pick up the item at the end of the cruise. Any opened liquor will be dumped and not returned.

If your luggage is locked you will receive a note to report to a specific room and they will open it in front of you. This happened to us when the thought a metal coffee cup was an iron.

  3. I don't understand all the hype about these burgers - they're burgers! Not prime rib! They were just okay, not out of this world... sorry, but that's my opinion..

I agree. I would be just as happy with the regular burgers with the expanded condiment bar that Guy's has.

  4. Take a look at the ports of call boards for ideas. There is information on various independent tours/shore activities.

Also check for a roll call for your specific cruise as people often organize group shore excursions.

  5. There was no mayo on the ones we got on the Breeze - either time we sailed. They were serving the plain cheeseburger on the toasted bun - everything else was on the condiment bar.

The wait was if you wanted one of the specialty burgers with the pig patty - for instance.

We were also on the Breeze and they do put mayo on the buns before they toast them.It wasn't alot but it was there. I would request a plain cheeseburger with no mayo and they would have to go back in the kitchen to get the bun. People with allergies could be affected.

  6. We are cruising from Miami 3/29/14 and are planning to take the shuttle from our hotel. Should we anticipate any problems getting to the port? I am reading about road closures etc.. I am also considering going back to the airport and taking the cruise line shuttle. Any advice from those familiar with this festival would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  7. Island Hopper58, thank you for letting us know how you do it!! the tip envelopes they give you do they have who they are suppose to go to or are they just blank envelopes??

I haven't seen tip envelopes in the cabins for several years. I usually get envelopes from guest services.

  8. How did you do it? My cruise price keeps dropping and I want to get the money back. Since we have 14 people and the price drops 60 for each person.

If you are not past final payment contact whomever you booked with. If you are past final payment but booked ES there is a form on the CCL website to send in.

  9. My family cruises the end of March. I am looking for hotel suggestions, keeping in mind my family (three kids under 11), easy transportation to and from airport and port and ease to restaurants and last minute cruise packing trips (wine/forgotten items).

    Thanks in advance!!

P.S. - I know I am totally procrastinating on this!

We are cruising 3/29/14 out of Miami. It seems the downtown hotels are totally booked due to some music festival. I ended up booking near the airport.

  10. My son is bringing his best friend on our next cruise this summer. My son will have just turned 18 but his friend will still be 17. Can my son still go to the Club O2 with his friend?

He's enjoyed the Club O2 for the past 2 years and met many people in there that he still keeps up with.

I have read that they sometimes make an exception if the teen is still in school. Have him bring his high school id with him. It might just work out.

  11. We allowed our children the signing out privilege because otherwise they could not participate in group activities like a scavenger hunt. They were instructed to return to the camp and always wait for us to pick them up at our predetermined time.
