So I heard about wow bands but didn’t see it on the website.  Is it basically like the Disney magic bands?  Keeps the sea pass card?  Drink package?

gets you in your room?  Does it carry your on board credits?

    is it water proof?

have not seen them being used since before covid….

My head is spinning trying to decide details on this trip.  I'm used to just driving to Galveston for a cruise, but DS and DIL chose a cruise out of Florida. (Graduation trip).  Sooooo

We will arrive late Saturday night into MCO.  The cruise leaves Monday, we get back Friday am, flight home is Saturday late afternoon...

I can't decide if we want to stay in Orlando until we leave for the cruise (one way car rental to the port, which I read on here took HOURS to return and get the shuttle to the port) -OR- get to a hotel near the port and find things to do until the cruise (uber to hotel from the airport as well as morning of the cruise to the port)

Then I have to figure out what to do when we get off the cruise and have Friday and Saturday to see things before we go home.

    What do

Just wanted to share. We recently sailed from Port Canaveral and was asked for our marriage license. In 15 cruises we've never been asked for it. The CSR said it was something new they were requiring which I don't believe. She said she wasn't going to be able to check us in. When a supervisor looked over our documents she noticed my wife of 40 years maiden name was on her license as her middle name so we were cleared. I can't imagine paying for the cruise, planning everything, getting excited, driving 10 hours to port, paying for motel the night before, only to have to miss the ship. Even if you've never been asked for your marriage license, it may be worth adding it to your document package.

Were you sailing with only a birth certificate and drivers license instead of a passport?

Even though they don’t t always enforce it they have always required a “bridging” document to show the connection from the maiden name to married name.

Sounds like now they may be getting stricter and making them ask for it.

    Hello-

Is it ok to do this now? The cruise isn't until the 27th.

    TY

If you do it early it will not show complete on the day you sail.  Just because it lets you view it doesn’t mean it is counted…

You will get a notification on your phone when it’s time to view the safety video and also to answer your health questions

that list is very helpful. Thank you.

Any recommendations for a decent hotel near Port Canaveral that offers a shuttle to the ship?

Plan on flying in the day before so we need transportation from airport to hotel, and then hotel to port on cruise day.

Because you are are need of a hotel and transportation I suggest taking a look at GoPort.  They have packages to take care of your hotel and all transportation to/from airport to hotel to port…

We have never sailed out of Port Canaveral.

Would Orlando be the closest major airport I would want to fly into?

Keep in mind the airport is about 45-60min from the port so you will need transportation.  A taxi will cost you $$$$.  Most people will use Uber, one-way car rental or pre-booked shuttle.

Here is a list of some of the most popular shuttles…..

I was on Wonder for NYE in 2022 and there were a lot of kids on the cruise, which is similar to previous NYE cruises I have been on. My guess is there would be fewer kids on shorter NYE cruises (3-5 days), but I have never done one of those.

The one we did was a 7 day on the Harmony and yes there were some kids but not a ton. It was a very nice enjoyable cruise…

I have done several NYE cruises. In my view the main appeal of them is you don’t have to worry about driving with the possibility of a lot of drunk drivers being on the road.

and it seems to be less children……not that I have anything against kids, but it’s not the same “ Santa excitement” as you would have on a Christmas cruise…

  9. We have not sailed on the Adventure, but have been on her sister ships several times.

I keep seeing people griping and complaining about her casino and other things, which I try to take with a “grain of salt”.

For those of you who have sailed the Adventure I would love to hear some positive feedback as we sail on 1/27….😎😎

    Thank you!!!

I am divorced with sole legal and physical custody of my children. Do I only need their birth certificates?  I wouldn’t think I would have to get permission from their father!? They are 4 and 6 years old.

You may or may not be asked for a notarized letter, but do you want to take that chance?

we have taken our grandchildren on several cruises and on one their mother was with us.  We were still asked for the letter once on Disney and twice on Royal Caribbean.

if at all possible I would try and get the letter….

I am curious about Florida's Brightline train, and wanted to know if it has had any issues with breakdowns, being on time, etc..  For those in the know, enlighten me.

    Thanks!

Just had a friend that took the train from Orlando to Miami and she said it was great!!  Absolutely on time and everything was clean and in perfect working order.

she cannot wait to do it again!

Yes, my husband also has a Medtronic device (got it in Nov) and the info from them is what you said, it's ok to walk through the scanners (just don't stop halfway).

My question is if anyone has taken their bedside scanner with them. Were you able to connect to the ship's wi-fi to transmit dara if needed? We will be on Princess in February, still need to find out if "Comminicator" has to be taken along.

I have a Medtronic device and I was given the option to have the bedside scanner or be monitored through an app.  I selected the app so as long as I have my phone I am being monitored.   When I cruise I get the ship’s WiFi and I am covered  for the entire cruise.  So much easier and so convenient!!

solo, 1 carry on and 1 backpack

    FLL To New Orleans:

10:16am flgiht from Jetblue out of FLL. ($154)

Next one out is 5pm on Southwest from Miami ($156).

Then 6:42pm on American Airlines (Miami) $94

Think I can make the 10am if i'm one of the first off the ship then uber to the airport?

Which ship???   The larger Oasis class ships tend to get people off much quicker than the smaller ships

Cruising from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale is a breeze when it comes to transportation!! We're a group of 25 people that will be cruising out of Port Canaveral in June/2025. We're planning on flying in the day before the cruise, staying at a hotel and would prefer to get a private shuttle bus that can take us from the Orlando hotel to the port. Would appreciate any recommendations on a company that offers private shuttles for larger groups.

    Yes...I'm a planning freak! 🙂

and just FYI……GoPort can give you a package where they arranged your hotel and all transportation to and from the port…
