    Hi all,

I've searched a bit and cannot find an answer.  Please pardon me if this is a repeat question.  We haven't cruised with the new Diamond drink deal of 4 drinks a day up to a $14 value for each.  That's easy enough to figure out, but my question is what if my wife wants to get a frozen drink?  Those can be over $14, so can she apply the voucher to get $14 off the total price or are you not allowed to use the voucher that way (like a coupon in a store)?

    Thanks!

we order frozen drinks all the time and have never been charged anything extra….so they must all be $14 or less

I am a first time Royal cruiser. I booked a last minute cruise for next Saturday.  The only check-in time I could get is 2:00 pm.  How strict are they about showing up early?  If we got there at 1:00 would they make us wait?

If you get there at 1pm you will have no problem.  By then boarding will have already started and there should be no crowds for you to deal with.

Plus the rooms should be ready when you get onboard…..

Agree. Also sad for those waiting to board who are unable to apply deductive reasoning (i.e. Ship docking Friday would be difficult to board on Thursday).

saw another post where a person called Royal late last night and was told the ship was on schedule and sailing today!!   Given that information they are going to head to the port based on what they were told.

it seems the only ones getting enough information to use “deductive reasoning” are the people ONBOARD getting their information from their Captain because it is not coming from Royal…

Folks on Serenade say they won’t dock until Friday, a day late.  Claim this is being communicated on ship.

Passengers expecting to depart tomorrow haven’t heard squat since last night (stay tuned).  So is the person on the ship a troll or is the company woefully inadequate when it comes to customer service.

the Port of Tampa is closed.   It is sad that this has not been communicated to those waiting to board ..

  5. We usually stay in balcony rooms, but we spend very little time in the room, especially on this class of ship with all the great views in other areas.

Can someone (who has stayed in them) give me their honest opinion on the oceanview rooms and also on the promenade rooms??  Is there a problem with noise on either one?

    Thank you!!

I haven't cruised in a few years but we used to always get to ship around 11 am.  This time it says my check in is 1 pm.  Will they let us board early?  We are crusing out of Port Canaveral?

    Thanks!

We sail out of Canaveral quite often.  On our last few cruises they allowed people to line up in their marked off areas up until the 11:00-11:30 assigned times.  All others were moved to the side and told to wait.

we had a 10:30 check in so I am not sure exactly how it was handled after that but once they started letting people inside and they were processed they probably started letting others line up….but again I wasn’t there so I don’t know…

Actually things are statistically safer, it’s the 24/7 media that skews our perception. I’ve lived in the same town my entire life, my kids attended the same schools we did, and were raised as we were (except they didn’t walk to school until 2nd grade).

We too have lived in the same town all our life but I have to disagree with you about how safe things are now.

Yes the media does skews things but my husband is retired law enforcement and I can assure you things are NOT safer today and sadly are progressively getting worse.

But maybe not where you live…..and if not you are truly lucky….

Well, never had an issue and my kids rode bikes all over town at 10. I don’t know how many children you’ve raised, but I’ve gotten 5 into their 20’s and they’re fantastic traveler’s, and learned independence and situational awareness at a young age. The term helicopter parent wasn’t around when I was growing up.

The world is not the same as it was when your 20yr olds were young.  Social media has changed a lot of things for the good and a tremendous amount of things for the bad.

We will have a full day in Cocoa beach but the hotels are very pricey. Is it worth it or would we be better of staying in Titusville since we will have a car.

    Thanks for any tips!

For the price of hotels it would not be worth it to me…..

  10. First time to Bermuda so probably a dumb question….

I have some slight mobility issues so I need to know how far it is to the museum and fort?

And if far is there a tram or shuttle we can take?  Thanks in advance…..

Anyone know what the cruise lines require to change my name? I have a court order showing the name change, but do I have to send that in or can I just call the cruise line? Hoping it would just take a phone call. Thanks in advance all!!!

what type of ID will you be using to check in?  If it’s a passport which name is it in?

You know this particular kid? Did you watch kid whole day long?

Also, what age? I took bus and subway from the age of 9 and walked everywhere. I hope strangers were not concerned. Why? Unless child is doing something inappropriate why are you concerned? Wandering is not breaking any rules. Riding elevators too!

Do you watch adults wandering aimlessly? 🙂

Kids are overprotected till teen years and then parents are surprised teens who suddenly got freedom (and often a car as parents are tired to drive them everywhere) do stupid things.

These children were 5-7yrs old!!!  Much too young to have the run of a ship with 6,000 strangers!!

My husband is retired law enforcement who has seen a lot so we are not so naive about what can happen!!!

We will just have to agree to disagree!  Have a good day!!

Well, maybe she is with her parents (kids grandparents) and they are taking care of her daughter. Why assume?

I didn’t “assume” anything because we saw these children ALL day, EVERY day, all over the ship!!  Eating by themselves, riding the elevators by themselves and wandering aimlessly in the Promenade by themselves!

There was NEVER one single day where there was EVER an adult in sight so you are the one who doesn’t need to assume it didn’t happen….because it did and the parents/grandparents of these kids needs to be ashamed!!

    Hello all,

hoping for some good advice and guidance from you!

My 16-year old son and I will be arriving at MCO Friday Oct 27, probably late (10-11 pm).

On Sunday Oct 29 we will cruise with MSC Seaside from Port Canaveral, embarkation 11:30 am.

We'll need transportation from airport to hotel on arrival, then from hotel to terminal Sunday morning, then on the following Sunday Nov 5 from MSC terminal back to the airport.

    1) Would you recommend getting a hotel close to the airport, or close to Port Canaveral? Pros and cons?

    2) I've read about complete packages, including all needed transportation and hotel accomodation. Does anyone have experience of that?

    many thanks in advance  /Tommy
