Thank you very much for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it!
NP, good luck with your upgrade.

it may vary by port, but we never needed anything but our sons room key until he was 17. I always carried a copy of his passport with me just in case. Now that he is 17 he will have to carry is drivers license.

I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said about how we feel special, but to be honest i have had that on every cruise i have taken whether it be NCL, RCCL or Celebrity.
I haven't been on RCCL in over 10 years, but i would not have an objection to the embarkation day request in the buffet to move along to another part of the ship to wait for rooms to be ready.
I think that could be made better if they allowed you to drop of your carryon to your stateroom before they are ready. But that would come with its own security problems as they quite often leave all the doors open while cleaning, as well as the the carryons would be in the way of cleaning thoroughly.

Yes, i just did it for our Jade cruise this week. We originally booked oceanview, bid accepted for minisuite and we than upgraded to aft penthouse.
We paid the difference between our total paid and the new rate keeping the original promos

If you are platinum you can send your laundry in for your free bag any day.
I sent my laundry in on the second day of a seven day cruise and had it back
by turndown the next day. This was on the Jade.
The coupon for the $19.95 bag special was mid week and it would be back
by the time we only had one day left of the cruise.
Won't be platinum until the end of our upcoming sailing.

50% off applies to the total bill of the bag - so in a way it would be half of the price on each item
This benefit promo is ONLY for the GOLD status Latitudes members
BEST to wait for the $19.95 bag deal available to all on board
Do you get the 50% off of the $19.95 bag deal?
-
Does the 50% off lattitudes benefit apply to that bag promo, or does that only apply to the individual prices per item.

I haven't seen that in a long time. I have not gotten them on any cruise until changing to suites in over 5 years. Even our current sailing which we switched to a suite last week they said it was too late to get them sent. We don't sail for ten days.

Thanks for the quick reply. May not need the calling feature....
We have to decide what to do ourselves on the Jade in a couple of weeks. We have the 250 promo. We will definitely get 1 unlimited with streaming, but have to device if we want to leave the 250 minute as it is, or upgrade to either social media or the base unlimited. My wife and I can share a single plan, but we like our son to have it so we can keep in touch with messaging.
-
The messenging app should work according to the description. I am not sure but i would guess the audio and video calling would not as that plan does not support streaming.

One thing to be careful of if doing it i. Advance. If yor wife view the reservation and you order ahead of time it appears in your confirmation of booked items

We have had good but also incorrect timing. In all cases the decorations were very nice. The issue we have had was with timing of the cake that comes with it. They were supposed to give us a card for a cake at any restaurant whichever day we chose but the cake was delivered to the room, on one occasion when we arrived for the first time in the stateroom it was there, but the birthday was later in the week, on another it wad their in the morning of the correct day rather than at the restaurant.
I will say when were in the Have on Breakaway they ended up doubling the cake. One of the head waiters asked what day we wanted it but the butler also delivered one.
I am not sure, but you may be able to set it up once on board to try to ensure the correct timing.
Either way you choose, I am sure she will love it.

My understanding is no. The packages are per person.

No problem whatsoever two years ago on the Jewel in using our SE balcony. The only "restriction" is that, because you are under the bridge, you cannot have any lights on your balcony after dark, and you must keep your curtains drawn in your cabin at night so the interior lights don't shine on the balcony. That was no big deal at all. In fact, the lack of light pollution in the bow of the ship made for fabulous stargazing from our SE balcony; this was a huge added bonus. (Not only could we see the Milky Way, but we even saw the Southern Cross in the pre-dawn hours on our approach to the Panama Canal; it's special to see this in the Northern Hemisphere.)
When your cabin steward does the evening turn down service, he/she will close the heavy watertight door to the balcony. But there was no restriction on our opening it at night to use the balcony (just had to make sure we weren't letting any interior light onto the balcony).
Thank you.

Are you allowed on the balcony at night while at see in the forward facing suites. I have heard of not be aloud on some ships.
We are currently in a minisuite but if the prices drop enough may pull the trigger on upgrading to a suite.

You should check with NCL what the cancellation fee would be for the 2 free. If prior to final payment there would be no fee.

Of course it's their business. Any representative that doesn't ask why a customer is cancelling isn't doing their job. I cannot fathom being insulted by a politely phrased "May I ask why you are cancelling?". Rudeness is an entirely different matter.
I'm sure someone would complain "They didn't ask why I was cancelling - they don't care about my business!".
I would agree with this if they were canceling a trip not booking another one. I would also think that when prior cancellations were made they probably did ask. At that point it would have been notated.
If they had that information they could have asked how things were going. This of course would be better if workong with a PCC.
We used to have a great one but she left NCL. Now every other month i get someone different from NCL claiming to be my PCC.

They have items out during the day by the Haven pool. Lemon water, M&Ms. Some small cakes, but those were put away later in the day. I think before dinner if I recall.
That bein said, you can order room service 24 hours. We would quite often order from O'Sheehans. Your butler or the night butler will bring it to you.

We got our offer option about 70 days for our April sailing.

Agree with this. Remembering to log in and out is burdensome and sometimes doesn't work...and then your minutes are gone the first day lol. I always just pay the difference and upgrade to unlimited so as to not have to worry about it.

And a big reason is not having to log in and out every time you wish to use it. Logging in and out is a major pain I think.
I agree. I was hopi g they had switched to MB which would have allowed me to give that to our son. Then purchase 1 unlimited to share between me and my wife. Easier to keep in touch with DS during the trip and he would get some usage. With it being this way we will probably try to get away with messaging via thw norwegian app and all 3 of us shars the unlimited wifi after upgrading the 250 to unlimited.
-
Thank you both. That is what i thought. I was hoping for MB.
-
Is the internet promo on the Jade time based or MB based. Trying to gauge what we will need in addition.

2 sailings in April of this year going out of Brooklyn due to overcrowding in Manhattan. April 18th, and 28th.
Is it possible to purchase "regular" upgrade to higher category after bid accepted?
in Norwegian Cruise Line

That is correct. The only effect the bid had was since that money had been collected it was considered part of the prior payments. The net total did not change due to the bidding system. I just hope it does not effect my chances of future bids being accepted.
