  1. Very confused by this

    1) There shouldn’t be any new sailings being released this time of year

    2) Royal has Cococay filled with two ships practically every day.

Could Celebrity be developing an area on the northern under utilized section of the island or nearby? I think that’s already under development for Royal.

I don’t see a huge capital expenditure over a private island when they have halted even refurbishing ships.

Supply chain issues affect us on land and sea.  Have been on cruises where there was no Coke Zero for days.  Don’t even get me started on the nasty canned water!  Creamer for the coffee maker in the suites has come in many different forms in the past year.  I now bring hazelnut and French vanilla flavored creamers with me just in case.  If there’s cream in the suite, great.  If not I get a treat!  I also still bring splenda packages with me, even though the ships have had it onboard for years now.  Because it’s something I don’t want to be without.

At the end of the day, Royal is doing the best they can to keep the entire fleet stocked as it travels around the world.

Supply chain argument is worn out.

And no they aren’t- Royal is doing the best they can to keep their costs as low as possible and is willing to compromise customer experience and quality to get there.

  3. It’s a good offer for that card but it is not a good card overall. Very limited benefits exclusive to RC and Celebrity and low point earning ratio per dollar spent.

There are tremendously better travel rewards cards you can use with any brand and that have a much higher return.

Yes, and not meaning to prolong all of this agony, but, it says "lunch" on the top of this screen shot........

That’s like saying this isn’t food, it’s wine, because the wine menu is beside it to the right 🫠 . Celebrity Select is clearly bolded and colored therefore selected.

This is exactly what keeps happening. Somebody doesn’t understand what they’re looking at and it derails the topic and confuses everybody.

Understood, but it was definitely on the lunch menu on the app when I checked today (for the 24 June departure on Equinox). Yes, I agree that the app isn’t error free. I can also attest to the fact that - post pandemic anyway - dishes on the paper menus for the MDR weren’t always available (and not because they ran out). I guess we’re back to someone onboard taking the time to dine in the MDR on the night the paper menu includes a burger.

Not to split hairs but the lunch is a cheeseburger not the cheeseburger posted on the dinner menu LOL.

I am sooooo hoping that when the Equinox goes into drydock they take care of the remaining cabins that got missed when it was being "revolutionized"   and fix the rust etc in the other areas.  We are booked for November 2024.  If reports are still bad may have to let our deposit go.

It’s nothing I would cancel over, but yea it was tired. A lot of the double pane windows in the Sky Lounge are clouded from cracking and moisture so you can’t see out of them and the cabins and just worn and outdated. I’d go again if the price was right.

I just don’t appreciate them saying it was revolutionized when in reality they didn’t do anything other than the concierge and up staterooms and suite amenities. I think it is very misleading to those in balconies and below because nothing they see was revolutionized or updated except the Craft Social.

Oh wow!  Did anyone post the actual paper menu, a copy of it?  I would personally love to see the actual paper menu, a photo of course, "in the flesh" so to speak......very interesting indeed.  We were on the Eclipse for two full months, got off at the end of May, but I understand this was effective June 1......thank you so much!

You may be able to find it with a little digging. I know several of the paper menus from last week were posted but there have been so many posts and threads this week about Equinox.

Thanks for starting this thread, seriously, though everyone else is joking - because it's causing a big kerfuffle on FB also......to my knowledge, the only spotting of a burger on the MDR menu at all was on the lunch menu on the app - but people were mistaking it for the dinner menu.  And furthermore, we all know that the app is notoriously wrong when it comes to menus and dates of said menus.  To my knowledge, there is no confirmation whatsoever that it is actually on the dinner menu in the MDR, but people are using this as one more reason to bash the brand, a favorite pass time for many.  But if it really is on the MDR DINNER menu, if someone can actually prove it - then ya, that's actually pretty bad.

It was the dinner menu. Somebody misread the title and it spiraled.

It has been confirmed by CC members onboard it was indeed on the paper dinner menu.

For all the good it will do, I just emailed Celebrity. Thanks for the email address.

Did any of you get responses?

I emailed Celebrity Executive Offices today.  I just received a reply from them that they would like to talk to me  about the dining room changes.  I am to respond to them with a phone number and best time for a call.  I am impressed, it was not a canned response.  I will respond and await a call!

What email did you use? I never got a response!

  11. Plenty of shorts recently.

We did a couple on the Equinox last month. As OP said, yeah the ship has aged lately it seems and it is PACKED. We had very long lines for bars and by 9am there is not an empty chair in sight.

Had nice sailings but yes it was a wake up call that the crowds are indeed back.

    Hello,

I think the confusion is over the understanding of 'reciprocity'.

The 'Status' will be reciprocated between the two schemes but the points will not.

If you have 'reciprocal' status (from Royal) on a cruise, you can ignore whatever status your X points would suggest.

Your Captain's Club points will only become important when/if you achieve Diamond Plus on Royal and you want to become Zenith on Celebrity as there is no reciprocity after that (D+) and you have to 'earn' your Zenith status.

If you don't correct it before you sail you should see the Captain's Club Concierge as soon as you board.

    Regards,

    Cublet

    Reciprocity ends at Diamond/Elite.

Diamond plus and elite plus are matched down to elite and diamond, respectively.

Wait, are you suggesting that most people who cruise are overweight?  Seems like a broad generalization but I honestly hadn’t noticed. I’m not overweight but that isn’t to say I don’t put on a pound or two when I cruise. When I get back home and into my routine, I take the cruise weight off again until the next one.

I wasn’t trying to make a generalization but yes as a matter of observation, I would firmly say at least half of the passengers on my sailings the past five years have been overweight. Not being judgmental, just a matter of the current society and an observation.

I would think you would react to the post I was commenting to instead of mine!
