Does that mean that if two people book the Master Suite they only pay for the two of them, but get two bedrooms? Not a bad idea if you think you might fall out with your spouse/partner during the cruise!!!

I have the Master Suite booked for a Tokyo to Tokyo cruise next year. The second bedroom was being locked off when it was just my husband and myself, I have since added our best friends to the second room, paid more to unlock the second bedroom though.

We did not utilize a Regent car; we asked the Concierge to arrange for a taxi.  That is what he did.  Very reasonable cost.

    -------

Customs clearance is(was) face-to-face. First passengers called were those with scheduled same-morning tours. Then--Deck by Deck, starting with Deck 6 and moving upwards.  Last Deck(s) called got that call around 1100H, as I recall.

Orderly procedure.  You will have already been provided with a Japanese Customs Card to complete prior to meeting with Local Officials.  Then, with Passport and Customs Clearance Form in hand--line up to complete the process in the Theater.

Clearance includes being fingerprinted.  No ink; don't worry.  Everything automated.  Facial photo recognition taken.  Regent will then put a small stamp on your Passport to confirm clearing the process.

Time from lineup to process completion for us was about 35 minutes.

Go Army, your response is really appreciated. Thank you

  3. We are booked for the Tokyo to Tokyo cruise, next March and have an early flight home at 8:50am out of Haneda airport. What’s the earliest we can get off the ship, or should we leave the night before and stay at the airport hotel? The ship docks in Tokyo the day before?  Any advice from past passengers, that have experienced an early departure? Also are taxis available at the port, at the time we will need to leave? Thank you.

I was disappointed when CD Handre brought this idea from Regent to Seabourn when he joined. I have tried it a few times but maybe because we are from Australia I find the chatter mainly about places in the USA people where people live and visit, forced conversation. So we avoid it and will do so on Regent. Luckily we dine late so are occupied getting ready in our suite when it occurs.

I’m also from Australia and find the Block Parties fun. It’s always lovely to chat with new people, no matter where they’re from in the world. The parties don’t go for long and “small chat” is very appropriate, when talking to someone new.

Like swansong, I am also glad to hear this.  The InterContinental Miami is where Regent has booked us also for the day before our cruise on Mariner in November.

That’s interesting as we are also sailing on the Mariner in November and Regent have booked us into the Mandarin Oriental in Miami.

If you were in corner away from where band is set up, I guess that is good. We were right above band area in Horizon lounge and there was no sleeping until they were done.  We were in 782.

That’s odd as we’ve stayed in 781 & our friends in 783 and noise from the band or lounge, was never an issue for either of us. Also the stage where the band is located is more centered back below 784. , If 782 could hear it, so should all the aft level 7 cabins but it was fine from our two cabins. I’d happily stay there again.

  7. I have to laugh at everyone complaining about the new time. Set your alarms and get up for ONE time to make your holiday restaurant booking.  I’m in Australia and we usually cop everything at weird times, we just get on with it. When we go to Disneyland, I have to get up at 1am every day for the length of my what my trip will be, to make the dining bookings. After a week of doing that I’m zonked but happy I’m going on a wonderful holiday.
Making restaurant bookings with Regent is a one time thing for the cruise, so I can easily handle that without making an issue of it.
We are very privileged to be able to enjoy this wonderful cruise line………so throw any booking time at me and l’ll happily take it.

  8. We’ve also done this and the train journey is spectacular. The Anchorage Hilton however, was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Our room was next to the elevator shaft and the ice machine, no sleep was had. It’s amazing how many people get ice at 2am in the morning 😳
It’s an easy walk from the hotel to the station, with your luggage and then from the station to the ship.

  9. I’m from Australia, so I can’t comment on the Regent flights, however I have done the Alaskan cruise twice. I highly recommend arriving the day or 2 prior to Anchorage, then taking the amazing train to Seward. There is a hotel in Seward right near the docks. They also run a fantastic tour by boat, where we saw whales, otters, a glacier etc. and the scenery was stunning. There is also a Sea Life Centre, which you can easily spend a few hours. We were so glad we did this first.

Although we were repeatedly advised that we needed to complete ArriveCan before boarding the ship as well as before entering the country, no one asked for our ArriveCan QR code when we boarded the ship.

That is because the details get attached to your passport electronically and will be seen by Immigration when you disembark entering Canada.

To answer your hypothetical as best I can, if we had a cruise sailing roundtip Miami on September 8th, and the cruise did not go to any countries that required testing, guests that are vaccinated would not require any testing.

As November 6th is the first cruise we operate roundtrip Miami, the above is purely hpyothetical, and quite possibly would change between now and 30 days prior to sailing, as requirements for Caribbean countries seem to be changing regularly.

    Further down in the Additional Pre Embarkations section, it states the following;

    1. For cruises sailing from ports in the United States all guests are required to complete a COVID-19 PCR or Antigen test from a lab or pharmacy within 48 hours of arriving to the terminal.

So sailing from Miami or Alaska will require testing.
