  1. I don't think that Carnival even goes to Bermuda. I do hope that they change up from Freeport and Nassau. Add Grand Turk or Half Moon Cay or Little Stirrup Cay. Something new at least. They can do it out of Baltimore so they should be able to do it from here too.

  2. We have put our daughter in Circle C twice and she had a great time. She is also a pretty responsible kid. We set up basic ground rules for her to follow. No hanging out in others cabins or ours basic times to check in. We kept post it notes in our cabin for checking in at certain times and to let each other know where we were at to meet up. I really never stay in one spot for to long anyway and would see her lots of times that she did not even know about without even looking for her. If you'd see one of her new friends you would see her nearby.

Usually when they sign out it is with their new friends because they don't want to do the planned activity. Then go back later for the next one.

The one thing that you should make sure to do is to get her there the first night as that is when they kind of make their friends. They will get into a group the second day but it is easier the first night.

  3. Thank you for posting this sunshine3214! We have the same itinerary in May. I'd love to hear about your experience.

We are leaning toward dead man's reef. Do we need to make reservations?

    Thanks!!

Just E-Mail them and Barry (the owner) will get right back to you. Just tell him your dates and what ship and he"ll get you set up.

You don't pay til you get there so no hassles with the credit card reimbursement if the ship does not make it into port for some reason.

  4. I second that for Dead Mans Reef. They are really friendly and the snorkeling was great saw lots of fish and coral. Have to swim a ways out to see the best stuff but well worth it.

35$ and they provided transportation to and from the ship and all the snorkel gear.

  5. I would be happy with any ship besides The Spirit of Norfolk or the inflatable raft from the Elizabeth River Crossing commercial :D

    I can't wait!!!

    I agree with you there.

The first time we took our daughter (12) down to see the Glory leave, we were on the next sailing. I was coming down Waterside drive and said there it is. She goes I see it dad right there and she was pointing at the Spirit. Laughed and said what about this big one up here. Still joke her about that.

That ended up being the Hurricane Sandy cruise and when we got back to port the Spirit went by us it looked so small from on the lido. She said she was happier on the Glory in the storm!!

  6. Really personal preference as to pay before or after. You will get billed for it at the end of the cruise if not pre paid. We generally pre pay so our S-S bill is not as high and to know that part is taken acre of by adding it to the price of the cruise when booking.

  7. We have been to Junkanoo beach a couple of times. We have never been to any of the others there. It is a safe and easy walk maybe 1/2 to 3/4 mile from the pier. More than half of it is on the main road past the Straw Market and Senor Frogs Alot of crew from the ships go here also. You can see it by going to Google Earth. Search Junkanoo beach and it will go right to it. There are vendors there to get drinks and food. Good view of the ships in port also.

  8. I don't think they have any casino's in Mexico. I think they said that the ship casino would be closed while in port.

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

I was talking about the ships casino in Nassau. It was open while we were in port during the evening.

Can't see them losing all of the gambling revenue to try and get people to go to a concert.

  9. I ordered a bottle of rum for our last cruise 10-13 from BV on the web site and there was a box you had to check to complete the purchase. Also no tax or gratuity. Was in the room when I got there Also got the bottomless bubbles for mixers. They will never check your glass to see what you are consuming as you walk around the ship. I had a small flask and never had anyone say anything. Just be discrete and mix your own as you walk around the ship. Don't whip it out right at the bar.

  10. We have been on the Glory 3 times and have had plenty to do every time. Even one time when we could not go to all of our ports because of hurricane Sandy.

There is always Club O2 for the older 2 and Camp Carnival for the younger one. They have activities everyday there.

Beings you are booking so far out check into the Scenic Ocean View rooms. These go fast but you are booking way early so may have a chance. 9200 or 9201 being the largest. They are not much more than a regular OV rooms. Really huge. There is a pullout couch and they can configure the bed as 2 singles or push them together for 1 big one.

We had 9200 and had 4 people plenty of room. Beautiful views too!!

There are pictures posted if you search my previous posts October 2013.

  11. I'm glad that we will have them back again here in Norfolk. So nice to just get dropped off at the port rather than fly which costs more than the cruise in some cases.

Carnival is currently doing a 7 day out of Baltimore to Grand Turk; Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas; and Freeport. So they could very easily do the same itinerary out of here also. With the time that it takes to get from Baltimore to here they could be sailing along to a farther port than just Nassau and Freeport in 7 days.
