  1. Thank you all for the answers and tips!
  2. We are flying to Barcelona from Ft. Lauderdale on October 27th for the October 31st TA on Reflection. Does anyone know if we would be allowed to park at the Port on October 27th so our car is there when we arrive back to Port Everglades on November 13th? Our other option would be parking at one of the airport’s long-term parking garages on the 27th and taking an Uber or taxi from the port to the airport garage when we return. I haven’t been able to find covered parking near the cruise port or airport.
  3. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sincere condolences to you and your family. Count me as one of your husband’s fans here on Cruise Critic. Thank you for letting us know.
  4. Jim — adding my thanks for taking me on Iain’s and your journey. It was like reading a great book!
  5. Stunning photos of your walk! My great-grandmother (a Sutherland) and great-grandfather (McGregor) were from Ayre. They moved to Liverpool after they married.
  6. I was so happy to read your update. And bless that officer who not only listened to your story, but did something about it!
  7. We also have MDVIP because neither of us was able to get timely appointments with our former doctors (or their nurse practitioners, which we would have accepted). As an example, when I got back home after my Dad’s final illness and death, my husband told me he had suddenly lost hearing in one ear the evening before. The soonest his doctor’s office could get him in was a week and a half later. I contacted my MDVIP doctor’s office and they worked him in that same day. I had been with them for several years, and my husband finally agreed to sign up. It’s expensive, but so worth it to have access to our doctor; we even have his cell phone number if something urgent comes up after hours or on the weekend. Our medical system is broken when we have to spend so much for timely access. Sorry to go off-topic. Rant over.
  8. I am interested because I suspect that the advice will not be consistent, just like much of the information on Covid vaccines, tests, etc. I have already said that I will consult my PCP and have never suggested that others should follow hearsay advice. However, some of the comments may lead me to ask him some questions that I would not otherwise have thought of (e.g., whether he has any knowledge whether a new booster that addresses some of the new variants may be coming in the fall).
  9. My husband and I have been fully vaccinated and received our booster (all Moderna) in November 2021. We are booked on the TA from Barcelona to FLL on 10/31/2022, flying to Barcelona a few days prior (arriving 10/28/2022). At the moment, we are thinking about delaying our 2nd booster until early October, so we have greater immunity before we fly to and cruise from Barcelona. We are both over 65, and I had (mild) Omicron the last week of January. My husband (over 75, with pre-existing conditions) did not contract Covid. I am still working in an office, and my husband is retired. We want maximum immunity (as possible) before we leave for Barcelona. Any thoughts?
