Freedom for the ports, The ABC islands are so beautiful

3 times on 12 cruises and all 3 times they were swimming in the port in Miami while passengers were getting on,
Orca's once and a huge turtle swam alongside us when leaving Port Canaveral

Hubby and I just turned 50, daughter just turned 22, we are all diamond.
If we turn up to the port and we get an exclusive line or a perk, we see it as a bonus, not an entitlement, you only get these things because RC give you them, just the same as RC can take them away...you sail the ships because you like them, or the itinerary not for what you can get.

Maybe that's because we have lived longer and are entitled to more because of our c&a status.
Seriously ?

Brilliant video, Thank you for sharing x

Really depends on the Captain, we have had them opened on several ships including Mariner, but refused on others, really no way of knowing till you ask onboard

I always remember my very first time in Florida from the UK about 18 years ago , never heard of these things but boy, were we covered in them walking round the Disney parks, I had to keep taking my daughter out her stroller to empty them out of it LOL, they were in their thousands and everywhere, that was an interesting trip I can tell you

Even though I am not able to walk the stairs myself, I would still stand back and let a scooter/walker on before me, and wait on the next one if I had to, it's called manners, which a lot of people seem to lack nowadays

And then there is the question of rude people in scooters as well, I am only 53 but have had 2 heart attacks and since found out I have heart disease and asthma, I can and will if able walk ''down'' the stairs, but I can't walk up, the amount of rude comments from people in scooters when I have gotten in an elevator while they were waiting (behind me) is shameful, I've lots count of the times my toes have been run over or my ankles bashed, and the nasty comments about how I should walk
It works both ways, we all pay our cruise fare, so we are all entitled to use the amenities which includes elevators

There is a notice on the Cruise Critic web page saying it's not working and you have to go old school and actually do a manual search for your ship and date....it's not been working since the CC upgrade, you will find your roll calls here... https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/rollcalls/

Our last 12 cruises, we have worn shorts everywhere except the dining rooms, we've worn shorts in the Windjammer and Johnny Rockets, Park Café,

No, they don't even work on a B2B
-
Only ever used dollars at the markets, they are independent sellers and only vetted by RCL so no sea pass cards
-
From the UK, we get nothing from our travel agents, maybe a very minimal discount as they book you as part of a group, can honestly say we have never had OBC or even a bottle of wine from ours..

I got this a few years ago when in Labadee, we usually sit near trees for the shade and I remember I noticed it getting itchy and blisters coming up once we were back on board, once the blisters burst they left tiny white scars which looked odd with a suntan...I still have those tiny white scars 8 years later, which never tan now, When I got home I went to the doctor and they said it sounds like sand fleas

The saying goes...you don't miss what you never had, being a lowly Diamond member, I have never had these perks....
What does make it hard to swallow is the fact that you HAD it and it has now been taken away, is this to force passengers to pay extra for some kind of boarding perk, RCL seems to be money grabbing at every opportunity.
-
Each person should have their own C&A number to gain their own points...my daughter has just turned 21 and is now a Diamond member in her own right gain all her points travelling with us

This is such tragic news, thoughts are with the family....I wish the media wouldn't report he ''fell'' from a cruise ship, I'm sorry but you don't just fall, those railings etc.. are pretty high, you would have to climb.

I bring my prescription meds in original boxes/bottles with my name on, OTC meds for motion sickness, colds/flu, allergies, upset tummy, painkillers.
I also lug all my toiletries shampoo/conditioner, hand soap etc... all the way from the UK in my suitcase as it costs a fortune onboard and it means I can dispose at the end of my vacation leaving me room/weight for gifts.
I also bring a travel first aid kit with me for anything minor.

When I booked the cabin I insisted that I be able to add a 3rd person at a later date
Sorry but how can you insist on adding a 3rd person at a later date
You don't know how full the ship will be when sail date comes, it could be there is no room at your muster station for another person, You probably should have added them when you booked, then cancelled them before final payment.
I do agree however you should not have to wait for a price, call them back , no doubt you will get a different person and a different answer

This will be a great loss

Oh Explorer 2014, We were on this cruise also, I couldn't sleep that night/morning and got up and decided to go for a walk around the inner decks, I was in the elevator when the wave hit and came out at the casino just as the crew were about trying to seal the doors to the outer deck where the lifeboat came down, scary times
