  1. Hi, we just returned from Tampa today and we used Capitol Parking. We drove into the gate and was directed to a parking spot. The van came over and helped unload our luggage and reloaded it into the van and off we went with no wait. On the return as we exited the terminal, I called them to let them know we were headed to the pickup spot. We waited just a couple of minutes and the van pulled up and got us loaded and we were off. I found this company to be very organized, friendly and courteous. I feel that you can't go wrong with this company. I felt very safe leaving our car there. I hope this helps you in your decision making.

  2. The Fascination docks at The Westin Hotel (pier B) which is an easy walk off directly to Front St.

You will have no trouble finding City View as you can see their first stop is across the street from where you will walk between The Westin Hotel and the Customs House.

    Have a great visit!

Hi Mike, just wanted to come back and say thank you for the directions and the map. We had such a wonderful time. I wish we were docked there longer. Maybe next time. The City View Tour was so nice and the driver was so funny. I booked on line and it was only $18 per person and your directions on how to find them were spot on. Thanks again.

  3. I will be coming in on the Carnival Fascination on 9/26/12. I have booked with City View, does anyone know where the Fascination will dock and how do I find the City View Trolley? Also, when I booked I couldn't find their route. Can someone help me with this. My ship leaves on Monday the 24th of Sept. Thanks everybody.

  4. Plenty of taxis at the port all day. 15$US per person round trip in shared taxi/minivan from port to Bayahibe. Pay driver on return journey. Driver will meet you at a designated time and place. Btw Breezes is now Dreams La Romana.

Thank you so much for that information. We will be catching a taxi/van and headed toward town and the beach.

  5. The motorway under construction is called the Coral Highway. It will eventually link Santo Domingo to Punta Cana (in the East). The first phase running between Punta Cana and Bayahibe should be open August/Sept 2012. It will reduce the trip from 90 to 45 minutes! However, it will be a toll road and the taxi fares are not expected to be reduced :-(

The Bayahibe to La Romana section may or may not be open at the same time. If it does open it will reduce the journey time from La Romana Port to Bayahibe by between 5 to 8 minutes. Again, the taxi fares are not expected to be reduced. But the drive will be a smoother and probably less stressful one :-)

Thank you for all your information. I may have missed it, but I just want to go to Bayahibe and stroll around then go to the beach next to Breezes. Will I be able to catch a cab or van easily for a round trip to and from port? Some have said cabs are not very plentiful and hard to get one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

  6. Could someone that has been there recently tell me if Carnival is assigning the Cabanas or can we still pick the one we want when we board? I have one booked and want to get further down the beach. Since booking on line is new maybe someone has already done this and can help us out on how its handled now.

    Thanks

  7. Thanks for the great review and for the video. It helped me out alot. I do have a question. Do you have to hire a butler in order to get a drink brought to you? Or are there waiters like on other beaches that will bring drinks to you. I was hoping we could order buckets of beer like on the ship. Thanks and I am really enjoying this board.

  8. Thanks Typhoon1 for the quick response. I may try to get #10. Does someone pick you up and take you to your cabana or do you have to walk? Just one more question, do the waiters come around for bar orders? Or do we have to go to the bar for our drinks. I was thinking about just buying a bucket of beer since they have a fridge. Thanks again.

  9. Well I think I have read all the post but I still have a couple of questions. I may have read the answers but I get a case of old timers sometimes so I will ask anyway.

What is included in the Oasis. I think I read that it is $1200. Second question is, are there more than one restroom area. I am thinking of trying to get a cabin toward the end like 14 or 15. Being beer drinkers we don't want to get to far for the restrooms. Is it correct that if you have a cabana that far away, they will take you to it? I love this board and have learned alot. Thank You.

  10. Carnival Dream cabin 2400 cove balcony was pretty loud around 12 midnight to 1:30 AM. Sounded like they were throwing bowling balls. Friends in 2414 said theirs was terrible and made many complaints to guest services. It is under the galley and I have stayed under the galley on the Glory with no problems but this room is noisy for a few hrs. at night.

  12. I bought a pair of Cameo Earrings for $110.00. I was told they were 14 k gold. I don't think they are. I haven't been to a jewelry store to get and apraisel but I think they are plated. Still beautiful. You can watch them carve. We didn't have much time left to browse but I am going back in May and will check them out again.
