Us too.  We have decided to just stay on the ship this time around on our Feb cruise.  Figure the pool/hot tubs will be pretty empty.  Maybe book a massage.......

In November, I'll suck it up with a clamshell. It shouldn't be that bad, plus being Thanksgiving Day, we probably won't be out there that long. I really do love the water there.

    I'd love to know why.

Over the 18 years or so we've been visiting HMC it has become less of a draw to us.  The ships got bigger making it so much more crowded, the cabanas steadily increased in price to the point of not worth it for us.  We had our last cabana a few months ago.  HMC is just No longer on my radar.  Kinda sad.

Same here, I'm not big on excursions, but always splurged on this. It was a nice treat to look forward to in between our dips in the water. I never bothered with them in Grand Turk or any ports. I realize they are trying to make money again, but one can only wonder, what's next.

I've never had a problem with them getting sticky, but then I love the taste of the lime candy ones, so I eat them so fast they don't have a chance to get sticky.  Usually before I put them in the drink.😂

They taste good in Marguritas. I'm a slow drinker too busy with the slot machine, lol.

Definitely! I take eye meds with me also because I have gotten eye infections in years past before I started bringing my own prescription meds.

Anything that you're prone to getting. I take my bottle of prednisone and print off the daily dosage so I remember the dosage every day if needed. And a bottle of mucinex for cold and cough. Overkill for some, but saved my butt many times.

  5. It can definitely sneak up on you. I thought it was my lung problem with just coughing only. Doctor gives me a pack of prednisone and I'm good to go. That was my only symptom. Went to a concert and was unknowingly spreading it. When the prednisone wasn't working, I took the test, and I was positive. I always travel prepared for the situations of cold/allergies/covid. The ships are usually barely stocked or crazy high prices. That's about all we can do.

To prevent someone from accidentally walking off with your suitcases put something on the handle that would make it impossible to mistake. Some crazy bag tag or ribbon or something like that like we do with our bags. Its no different than someone accidentally walking off with the wrong bag at the airport since many bags look alike.

Now someone intentionally taking your bag is a completely different ball of wax.

My husband put multi colored pattern tape on his so it stands out.

The reason everything was delayed.   Police were also late getting to the ship

This is just ridiculous, bunch of animals. They need to be banned from all lines. People were saying glass bottle being used on other posts. That looks like a regular water bottle that the female was hurling. But I see there are drinks in glass on the tables, so who knows. Wonder what started this one, than again, it usually don't take much when you see these gang fights.

I think they should ban the people who wear over bearing amounts of strong perfume more than the vaping   Pewwwww

I realize they can't do that, but love to daydream about it. I've had to leave my fair share of slot machines over it. A few vapors will nail me, but they are over the top with the plume so the whole room can appreciate it. But some of the colognes, you can still smell after you leave the area. It feels like it's stuck in your nose, lol. Several scents trip the major coughing attack that my inhaler will not fix. If someone asks if you are okay, you can't even get the words out.

  9. Just when you thought is was safe, lol. As an x-smoker/vaper, not a good idea at all. Vaping started as a means to end the cigarette habit. But it's started a whole new habit and hobby balled into one. See who can make the biggest most fragrant plume of vapor (looks like smoke).

Kids run off... it gets hectic, crowded and sometimes a kid wonders away. Of course grandmom is going to do her best to keep an eye on the kids, but sometimes kids get slippery and walk away.

My son started that at the age of 2.5 or so. Actually much younger. He would try and escape the carriage before he could walk, that was a challenge too. I used a handholder leash. We each had it on a wrist and it had a spiral cord attached between the two. He was a smarty, he'd wait until I had to pick up his infant sister and bolt. Always when you least expected it. People bashed you for using these items, people accuse you of not paying attention. I say poop on them. My kid was safer and lived to tell it.

Two different departments. Yes, they could take the time to do that but probably figure they wouldn't gain back enough customers to justify it.

I'm constantly getting offers from NCL and I'm probably banned. I did a chargeback for March 2020 cruise. I had no choice, they weren't playing nice at all. But I thought it through knowing the risks. I don't care if I don't get to cruise with them. At that time, Carnival seemed to be the most generous with the refunds. Not a lot of complaints except for being slow.

That might be an option, especially since we are driving to port rather than flying. I had thought about it but didn't know if it was allowed or practical to schlep 🙂 I'm considering it now!

I'm thinking of doing that too. I have a Nov 20 cruise and April 27, both have HMC. I was going to get a cabana when they were 500 (begrudgingly). Than I'd just rent one float and we'd be set.

  13. Once you make that turn by the Tesla building it's slow but moving. But to make that turn is not fun. The gridlock is from people knowingly pulling in the middle of that intersection. We were waiting our turn to make that turn. Apparently other people don't like to play nice. Hope that one blowing her horn and cussing us got karma on the buffet, lol.

I havent noticed any different behavior onboard recently as opposed to a decade ago.

Except some adults seem to want to walk 3-4 wide in common areas...expecting me to turn sideways to avoid them.

Nah gunna do it (as dana carvey says).

Yeah, I thought I was in the mall a couple times, lol.

I was mistaken.  There is a small hallway that leads to another,  much smaller and weird additional casino.  Overall I estimate Venezia casino a little bigger than Pride's

That's not bad. The little annex was shown on John's page. Of course the usual bickering began, so off I went, lol.

Oh yes.I had the Momma raccoon at my back door this morning demanding to be fed before the cats.same raccoon 4 years now. No idea how. We live in Michigan! I know she has babies so she wins.I get her away from the door and drop some dry food. Go back out an hour later and feed Momma.

They are all over just like the cats. Google racoon eating hot dogs. There's some older guy in I think Canada. It's hysterical.

You also got me at cats. I’ve had a feral colony since 2006……I’m down to 2 left from 18. Momma is 18 and Padraig is 17.5. When I started this I had no idea that I would be feeding 18 years later. Like you we are lucky to have fabulous neighbors who feed while we are gone. Enjoy your trip. I’m happy to be following along.

The gift that keeps on giving, lol. We also get the raccoons and possums, inviting themselves to dinner.

Counting the ferals (not that many) I think my better half has a few dozen. I have one (1). That's not counting the pole cats and possum cats that help themselves to some of the outdoor food. 🙂

After the cruise, we really have to make an effort to capture and have fixed the two ferals we have been feeding, and their recent litter with maybe another one on the way. But they are onto us.

One of the cats we boarded needs steroids and actually the other one really does, but has heart issues and steroids sends him into heart failure. Poor fella.

My one that crossed over last month was on steroids, he had a mass pressing into intestinal area. Poor thing wanted to eat, but it just wasn't happening, so we ended up taking him to vet. It's never easy, they are like children and can't tell us whats wrong. This crew now will be a bloodbath now for 2 of them trying to put them in a carrier. The other 2 easy once caught.

    What is TNR?

Trap, Neuter, Release. We have animal rescues or you can do it on your own. They have animal cages set with a spring door when they take the food. Completely harmless. They get taken to a vet and checked out, neutered & possibly rabies shots. They are than released back to where they came from if they are too old to be tamed down. If they show signs of friendliness, they get fostered and homes found for them.
