As a backup to your backup - try Uber as a last resort.   Just out of curiosity I priced the Uber cost before we boarded our train and it was about $155 euros.   Even less than the Carnival transfer.

I'm not sure it would have actually filled the request (although Uber has never failed me) as I didn't go through with the booking but something to consider in a worst case scenario.

I booked Twelve Transfers for my Parents and I from our Hotel on High Street Kensington to Dover and then back t o Gatwick for our Paris flight. It ended up being  around $200 for a MPV van and if we took the Carnival Transfer it would cost more with a taxi to Victoria Station. We have a 8:15 AM transfer and a 11:00-11:30 checkin time.

How would cruise lines determine which 18 yrs are making the big bucks and which are dependent on parents' income?  Our local judge who oversees tenant/landlord cases tells property owners they are fools when they don't require lease co-signers for anyone under 22.

Its not cool that others ruin it for those who are mature. You cannot lump everyone into one category.

It has been clarified above that the rep on the phone was wrong, and Carnival's age policy is 21 and older can sail solo.

But drinking age and enlistment age are societal constructs enacted through law.  Company policy on age restrictions is their business to set as they see fit.  And no business wants to turn away otherwise-legal customers.  Yeah, that one 18 year old with big bucks might be OK.  Or they might be a self-entitled twit who thinks their money buys them the right to do anything.

I was very mature at 18 and could go on a cruise alone doing better than most adults!

i just got off the phone with carnival and they told me that not even my 22 year old daughter can cruise alone , that someone 25 and older have to be there.

At Age 18 you can go to the Army, be tried as an Adult. At age 21 you can drink and stay at most hotels alone..Age 25 is a bit too old to be able to cruise alone.

Lets say one cannot marry or is a mature adult at age 18? Not everyone fights or drinks excessively.

At Age 18 lets say you are making big bucks and want to cruise without Mom or Dad?

I would call Carnival directly with this. I am pretty sure that you will not be able to board.

Who pays for nonretundable airfare? I would ask someone to go with you or see if your Friend can pay for another type of All Inclusive vacation. Your plans should not be ruined due to thism

My husband and I are booked on an Alaska cruise leaving on July 27th. We were really looking forward to it but have been in a car wreck. We were t-boned in an intersection, totalled our car and have some injuries. We will be ok with time but can't travel.

Carnival customer service is closed until Monday so I can't call until then. We do have Carnival's travel insurance. Do you know if we can just move to another sail date, or do we need to cancel and re-book? We booked the trip with one of those amazing rates with onboard credit. I know we would lose the rate but do we get to keep the credit? I would appreciate any info you have.

This was a retirement trip for my husband and we had everything ready to go, excursions booked, airline tickets, pre-cruise hotel, everything. We are so very disappointed but happy to be alive.

The person who T boned you can pay you as part of the settlement for a better cruise on Princess. Glad you are doing well. I would ask to be compensated by the party who T bones you for a new trip as part of the settlement

I like the darkness of the inside as well and being a little higher up personally. But keep in mind, if you have the chance to upgrade later from the upgrade fairy, the cost to do so from the ov will be cheaper.

We book the lowest grade we are hapy with Oceanview. Then we got upselled to a Mid ship extended Balcony on our 9 day British Isles Cruise. Deck 7 opened up midship with $400 price reduction and we got it as OBC for a shore excursion or two.

  8. I booked my Parents and I from our London Hotel in Kensington to Dover for $297 and the same to Gatwick for our flight to Paris with Twelve Transfers. Over all they have a good price and its less expensive than paying $99 and taking the ship Transfer from Victoira as you need a taxi to get there.

Twelve Transfers over all got very good reviews on Trip Advisor. If anyone has used them please let me know.

We are leaving our Hotel at 9:00 AM and hope to be in Dover by 11:00 AM depending on traffic. What time can we check in for our Pride Cruise?

    Thanks

  9. Booked an Oceanview on Deck 1, payed the Upsell to 8J Extended Balcony for $140. Called today after hearing about price drops. We are moved to an 8K Deck 7 midship Extended Balcony and are getting $396 OBC plus I have an additional $50.

Not a shabby deal for 3 on a 9 day Carnival British Isles cruise! How did we do?

    Go look at your ressies!

We went back to the front desk at 1:30 and asked the guy manning the desk if our room was ready yet. He rudely said “check-in time is 3:00pm!” When I explained to him that we had requested early check-in, and that we were told to come back at 1:30, he became even ruder. “Check-in time is 3:00pm Sir”. Okay, so we took a seat in the lobby to wait. There were quite a few people there in the same situation as us.

What made it even more frustrating was watching people getting off the shuttle, walking up to the desk, and getting their rooms. I even saw a guy with no reservation walk up to the desk and get a room. KrusinKris and Ken had gotten their room. What’s going on?

Then I noticed that those people that were waiting with us still had their luggage on luggage carts. We were told we had to take our luggage off our cart and store them in a room behind the front desk when we went to lunch. So now, when we finally do get a room, there will be no luggage carts available!

Magically at 3:00pm all rooms were ready. Of course there was now a huge line of people waiting to check-in, but fortunately we were up front. Their check-in process was extremely slow, taking a good 10 to 15 minutes for each room. Finally with room keys in hand, it took another 10 minutes for someone to get our luggage out of the back room.

Since there were no luggage carts available, we had to drag our luggage around the corner to the elevators. We got on an empty elevator and pushed the button for the 6th floor. These elevators were real slow. It seemed to take forever for us to reach our destination. We reached the 6th floor, the doors “dinged”, but did not open. Patti pushed the “open door” button several times, nothing. She pushed the “6” button several times, nothing. It seems like we are stuck in the elevator! Patti thought we should try to go back down, so she pushed the “5” button. The doors opened. Needless to say, this elevator would be out of service for the next day and a half. Not good, since now there was only one elevator to service the entire hotel!

We were in Room 607 on the City Side. The room was functional, but outdated. I understand that they are currently updating rooms, but ours was not…..

The drain in our bathroom sink would back up if you ran the water for more than 5 seconds. Several calls to the Front Desk resulted in nothing being done for the three days that we stayed there. Hey, send up a bottle of Drano and I’ll pour it in myself!

We were very tired since we were up at 2:30 this morning, so we napped until it was time to go to dinner. We decided to just go to the Beach Bar & Grill again. We went outside just in time to catch this beautiful sunset over the Bay…..

    To be continued……

The Westin Tampa Bay or the Sailport Suites are nicer without the rude staff. Gingerma will take note😁

  11. My Parents and I are on the 9 Day Carnival Pride and were booked in an Oceanview on Deck 1 and just today when I logged into  Manage My Booking we were offered a Balcony for $230 and an Extended Balcony for $260. So  I took the Extended Balcony.  So worth it for us three! I enjoyed my Balcony on the Panorama so of course these Extended Balconies are even better!
