Ha ha, this has to be a joke right?

Back in December Carnival announced no smoking in the casinos as a COVID related protocol.

So you mean to tell me that now that there is a no smoking policy in the casino, it doesn't smell like smoke anymore 🤣

    Keep the bar ban smoking.

  3. In Mexico all of my Shore Excursions includes alcohol. I drink off land. Now that was not the reason for selecting the tour but it was an added benefit.

In Puerto Vallarta my morning tour is to a Hacienda with cooking class, tequilla pairing, wine and beer.

In the evening the Rhythms Of The Night includes drinks on boat and at the dinner.

In Mazatlan they serve beer with lunch.

In Cabo the All Inclusive Luxury Yacht includes Domedtic Open Bar.

So for $400 on tours I get drinks. I also booked the Chefs Table with Wine and booked the Steakhouse with wine too.

On the cruise on Sea Days I may get some mixed drinks but I prefer getting it off ship in port.

So Cheers would be around $400 I would much rather drink the local drinks ,take a tour and enjoy a sailboat excursion.

But your deck 15 Serenity on the Panorama does not have a pool and has chair hogs.  If you think Havana is not for you, you're fully entitled to your opinion.  It will just allow those that fully appreciate and comprehend the benefits of the Havana area to invest in the area and enjoy it. Of course this is applicable to the 3 Vista Class ships.  It's not worth it on the Excel Class.

Each to his own I have  tactful ways of dealing with chair hogs.

You're looking for a 100% certainty type of answer, and I've got bad news.

It "might" work, but I'd give it a less than 25% chance. In my experience speeds are at the less than 3Mbps speed and the real problem is ping or latency which can be a lag time of 800mS to over 1000mS.

If a VPN is involved (and why wouldn't a VPN be involved for a legal proceeding), I would put it down to less than 10% chance of working.

The court can pay for a WiFi package and lose out the $$_ if it fails. Not your wife's problem that the cruise was booked long ago.

I wont be buying the internet as speeds are slow

To put it simply/bluntly, the guy is vindictive, destructive and delusional. He has a "if I can't have it, then I will nuke the town so no one can" mentality.  I've thought people like this only existed in TV shows, like Criminal Minds and SVU.

His attorney is know to be a bad ass lawyer, I actually know her.  She is also a judge. She usually does high profile criminal cases, so I have no idea why she is representing this guy.  He knew when we were going on the cruise, so she prob said she needed until Feb 4th to be ready knowing that there were lots of slots the following week and some day (any day) next week would be selected and would cause our side issues.

My wife thought about trying to do something to see if she could have it postponed, but her friend is not doing well with all of this mentally, and is afraid she might have a breakdown if it's postponed again.

I would ask them to compensate her. She is not obligated to be deposed on vacation . She requestec time off from work . See about countersuing for having her postpone tne cruise, compensating her work for extra vacation time in addition to this one

REALLY long story short, my wife was subpoenaed in a case where this guy is stalking her good friend.  He purposely had his lawyer select a time when my wife would be on vacation and refused to allow her to be deposed ahead of time.

The court says that she can appear virtually using WebEx.  The premium internet option says that it can be used for Teams and Zoom, but can't be used for streaming video or IP calls.  Technically speaking Zoom and Teams are streaming video with IP calling for the audio, and so is WebEx.  While I know they can't realistically list every technology that can connect, I find it odd that they call out Teams and Zoom without something like, "works with productivity apps LIKE Zoom and Teams".

Really my question is two fold.  First off, is WebEx allowed/supported without having to do anything fancy like set up a VPN to ensure access?

Secondly, she needs to attend on a sea day, so we will be at sea the entire time she needs to be on.  How is the connection?  We will buy the premium option for that day, and I certainly don't expect cable speeds, but she can't do it if she is disconnected every few minutes, or the audio/video is just useless and freezes up nonstop.

    Thanks!

Have your wife e-mail the lawyer that this is her personal time and that Carnival has very spotty service. If they are still forcing her to be deposed they can pay her for a new cruise for the entire family in a Suite with First Class  airfare, luxury Hotel for any day after the cruise and for all damages . Or she could say that she is not feeling well on day of deposal.

  8. As they flipp flopped the itinerary I still see Rhythyms Of The Night on Mazatlan Day and not on Puerto Vallarta Day. I have the Local Traditions at a Hacienda booked for the morning and ROT for the evening.

I have an independent tour in Mazatlan and my Luxury Yacht Cruise has been updated for Cabo at 8;45 AM  -12:45 PM. I like these times as then I can go back onboard and enjoy  some more good food.

We've had this discussion before about your dislike of the ship within a ship concept, but you have to deal with the reality that it is on all of the mass market cruise lines.

Carnival, Royal, Celebrity, NCL, MSC and Princess all have a variation of it on some of the ships in their respective fleets. It's not going anywhere.  If you don't like it, there are multiple ships on every line I mentioned that do not have the concept.  Of course all of these ships are the older smaller ships in the fleets and this is the sacrifice you will have to make if this concept is so distasteful to you.

Otherwise you have to deal with the reality that every new build on all of the mass market lines will have some sort of ship within a ship area or upgrade for those who wish to pay for access to the special area.

Remember Deck 15  Serenity? That is where I will be . Its free. Honestly I considered Havana on my Panorama cruise but it just was not wort it. I am fine with Deck 15 and the Havana Bar. And yes I have the means to pay for a Havana Cabin but I decided to do Shore Excursions instead.

You will also have a secondary issue with this plan.  You book one cabin for say, yourself and your son, and the second cabin is then registered under your husband's name alone.  That second cabin, no matter where it is located, will still cost the double occupancy rate.  Why not just book the coveted Havana and stop trying to get around the requirements?

I stand by my earlier assertion that you get what you pay for.  If someone doesn't like the upcharge, or if they "pay more" for somewhere else, that isn't the point.  If one wants Havana access, pay for the cabin.

An airline lounge will refuse entry to teens flying in Coach if Mommy and Daddy are in First Class.

Fair not fair those are the rules . If  the teens want First Class its a earned privilege .

Trust me I was in Paid First Class for work and I wanted to bring in my Parents and they said no. I understood..

I'm daydreaming of a future cruise as I am getting a lot of awesome offers.

I know you can only access the Havana Pool during the day if you have a Havana Room.

I have heard of families booking multiple rooms and assigning people in rooms to save money, then re issuing room keys at Guest Services.

How would that work for the Havana Pool?

I want to book a non Havana Balcony with my offer and put my husband in a Havana room with his offer. We'd be travelling with our son, who could go in either room.

Would they allow us to get room keys so we can all access the Havana Pool? (my son is over 12 so no issue there).

I am daydreaming of flying in the First Class Suites on Emeriates but I sure as heck wont poach the seat. I will find a Sponsorship or Friend who can assist me. If not I will fork over the $$$.

Technically, no. Only the folks actually assigned to the Havana cabin should have the wrist bands that allow access to the Havana pool area.

Would not be fair to those in Havana Cabins. Please consider upgrading everyone to Havana if this is what you want. It would be quite tacky to sneak people into an exclusive area and you may even be debarked for allowing people into access controlled areas

Jus think if I paid $$$ only to learn that a Havana Guest brought in non Havana Guests I would immediately complain to the Havana Concierge/Pool Greeter and Hotel Director. The Pool Greeter could get fired for allowing non Havana Guests in. Especially rowdy kids and teens.

At the very least ask the Staff before you even try. Everykne has a Key Card carded for access and perhaps a wristband.

Do you try this at Airline Lounges too try to bring in non status Economy Fliers on a $ 5- 10,000 Ticket?

  13. I moved up to Deck 8 and then to Deck 9 forward balcony. You want cabins above you and below you as well as to the side of you for peace and quiet. I also like being forward or aft of all elevators and not above the pool.

Also Deck 9 has a outdoor deck at the front a few cabins up with stairs going up to the Lido deck. This will be my primary way of getting Breakfast at Blue Iguanas,Burgers and 24 hour pizza and ice cream.

I am a seasoned cruiser with over 90 nights with Royal,14 nights Princess,14 nights Cunard and now 7 nights Carnival. All since April 2012.! I have had everything from an Interior to a Balcony . I need my Balcony!

What if I do not have a passport?

Then you will have to line up for manual verification of residency I suppose. Three  words get a passport and keep it in your safe. What if you got injured in Mexico and have to fly home?

Yeah, it's your Immigration check.  In many ports the computer simply recognizes you from their Passport records and you're on your way.  No agent.  Yes, you want to participate.  Makes disembarkation a breeze.

SFO has this for artivals. I am Global Entry registered and you bet I wil be frowning and smiling   to get off the ship quicker!
