  1. Looking forward to your review. I have a friend who is taking her first cruise ever and it will be on the Victory in a few months. I will make sure that she sees your review so she has an idea of what to expect. You're off to a great start; she'll be beside herself with excitement.

We are doing our first Pride cruise in Nov. We live in Delaware so we're excited to be able to just drive to the port instead of to BWI !

Being a cruise addict, I love reading reviews even if I am not booked on the ship that the review is about. What can I say ?

  2. Hiya Delta, good to see you are still cruising and whooping it up. IMO, the 1st night in the steakhouse is the most crowded - so is the cheapo wine worth it?

If you can have a more relaxed evening dining in the steakhouse mid cruise you might want to consider any sea day. This way, you can have an easy day out and about on the ship, and then a fantastic dinner. No stress or getting tired from traveling to the port on embarkation or being out on excursions in port.

    Bob

Hi Bob, Glad to see you, too. Yes, if the first night is crowded, that is not worth it. We'll probably take a bottle of wine on board in our carry on and just enjoy it on our balcony at various times of the week. We generally don't even have wine with dinner, so why be enticed by the word; FREE. LOL

The other thing is that I really like meeting our wait staff on that first night in the main dining room. Thanks everyone for the input. Happy to hear from two old cruise buddies; lovemygrandkids, and evandbob.

  3. I'm booked at that hotel for the October 18th sailing... Did you have a good experience there?

We stayed there (BW in Elkridge) and found it to be an excellent choice. Our stay was not cruise related, though so we only used the shuttle to BWI for our flight for a trip to Belize. Our car was there for almost two weeks. Nice stay, nice restaurant a few steps away and I believe they will shuttle you to the nearby mall and stores, including a Walmart.

  4. Hi Jeff, I'm excited about seeing the Breeze though your eyes and Patti's camera. This is the first review of yours that is about a ship we've actually sailed. I feel as though I am boarding all over again. What fun, thanks for the memories.

I can't wait to see if Ryan wins some money to pay for those college books. Best wishes to him on his new adventures.

  5. I take a pop up hamper for dirty clothes. At the end of the cruise, it fits perfectly in one suitcase, ready for me to unpack it in my laundry room. By the way, that's about the only thing I put in that suitcase.

Baggies are always handy, duct tape *yes, we did have a suitcase we had to tape together due to airline handlers. Post It notes or a small notebook.

  6. Hi H, It's taken me a few days to get back on here to read the rest of your fabulous review.

I am SO happy that your Poppi received the transplant. That phone call saying, "We have a match," is the best phone call in the world. I've never seen a pin like you are wearing; that is awesome. We were able to thank my husband's kidney donor family by sending a letter to the transplant center at the hospital to forward to them. I hope your family has the chance to do the same.

I know your family cruise will be a wonderful time to celebrate all of you being together. Maybe I should adopt your family for a week and come along, too. Don't forget to throw those tantrums to get your parents to book the Nov.15, 2015 with you. Tell your Dad that he and I can demand that the Browns game be shown in the Sports Bar so that we can create a Dawg Pound at Sea.

You have brought many smiles and chuckles to my life once again with your review. Keep sailing and reviewing.

Until the next time. Happy Sails To YOU.

  7. Hip Hip Hooray ! Yes ! My favorite reviewer is back again ready to tell me everything I need to know about the Pride.

No WONDER I love you so. Your dad and are kindred spirits; I'm from Cleveland, grew up going to Cleveland Indian's games, am a LOYAL Browns fan and Cavs fan, too.

Show these to your Dad and tell him it was the opening night of the new Browns Stadium. Watch out, though. He may either turn green or start to cry. I hate to have you break this news to him, but I remember the night in 1948 when the Cleveland Indians won the World Series... yes, I am OLD. I don't suppose he is a OSU Buckeye fan, too is he ? That's my Alma Mater, so OHIO is the only place for sports.

OOPS, this is a highjack of your review, but now I KNOW your family HAS to book the Nov. 15 Pride cruise so we can really talk. I'll bring cheese just for you, too. I'm counting on you throwing some tantrums to make it happen.

Keep the review rolling along so I can stay excited about the Pride. Tell your mom and grandmom hello for me. Maybe they can come in November, too you might get tired of your dad and talking about the Browns. Be nice, invite them. They will be ready for a break from cold weather.

  8. Carnival freeze-drying their "cornbread" for the astronauts? Now that's just plain mean, Kim!:p:D

I really enjoyed the Space Centre pictures, too.

    Heather

LOL, I agree, that is mean. That cornbread would cause space program to end.

Kim, you done did it this time !! Between the opening video, the review, the shopping tips and the extra music videos, next review you do I expect we will need special glasses because it will probably be in 3-D.

As always, I laughed out loud, smiled a lot but mostly enjoyed traveling with you. Thanks for the detail, the photos and being your own 'bad,' self.'

(Sorry for the hijack but I know In Charge will be back to read the rest. In Charge, did you receive the answer I sent to your email ? )

Thanks, Kim. Carnival really needs to pay you for your reviews.

  9. You are not only making me jealous that you have already been on the Pride and I have to wait until Nov. 15, BUT you are also making me hungry. I love the salad bar as well. Guy's is high on my list of likes as well.

We have a 8K handicapped room on Deck 7 as well. We're looking forward to the extended balcony. Thanks for the photo.

Enjoying your review so far, thanks for taking the time to post it. I'll be traveling right along with you, except we have the other itinerary.

  10. Perfect timing -- we're sailing the Pride (same itinerary) on Sunday. Thanks for taking the time to do this. You have me so excited already! :D

Awww, I wish we were sailing with you.... Remember, Nov. 15, we'll be boarding. Just tell your mom you HAVE to go have breakfast with Dr. Seuss. Throw a major temper tantrum if you must, but find a way to sail with us.

Have a good time in the meantime. Can't wait for your review when you get back. I hope they have enough orange sherbet for you.

  11. Hi Jane! I loved your review (read part 2 before part 1!) and I just needed to stop by.

I thought the powerpoint thing was SO funny! I do the same thing to my husband any time I plan a trip. He makes fun of me because I do it quite often and he already knows when I've got my plan of attack ready LOL...

We've been married almost 5 years. I can only hope we can be like you and your husband when we get to be your age. That picture of you two is so beautiful and so is your love for each other! :)

    Happy new year! xo

I'm sorry I am just seeing your post.

Glad I'm not the only one who does crazy things. Our husbands enjoy it, even if they think we are nuts.

I hope you have had a Happy New Year.... and a half by now.
