I went back to your boarding day posts. Were they allowing priority people (plat., diam., suites and FTTF) to drop off bags in their cabins upon boarding?

Have my first ever suite (ocean) booked for next spring. Can't wait. Because of price, even with casino offer, it may be my last.

If weather is good, you can eat outside near the water.

My group always used Alchemy for our predinner meet up, we had early seating. It was always packed.

Cash tips are welcomed gladly! When I don't have cash with me, I'll write in a tip on receipt.

Go to the nightclub after 11pm, you will not have to wait long.
If I'm able to be up late on a cruise, you'll find me in the casino.

When I cruised on Glory last February, I wore nice shorts most nights to MDR, even elegant night. Think I wore jeans one night. Nothing ratty or torn.

I didn't see an opening time for casino bar when you posted Funtimes. I never shut it down at night, but think it didn't open until 8 or 9am on sea days. People mention bad drink service, but except for early in the day, I would have several servers coming by all the time. I do tip at least a dollar a drink.

FTTF gets to check-in at 16-days? I never heard that before, but makes sense. I just checked my Planner and it says 14-days with FTTF. Arrival time really doesn't matter for D/P/Suites and FTTF. They get sent right to the priority line, at least from the ports I have been to.
I have FTTF for my 4/16/23 cruise, my check in date is 4/2/23. So, no, FTTF doesn't get check in 16 days out.

Just based on the ships themselves, I have been on and enjoyed both. They are almost identical in layout with a different decor, but not so different as to be a factor to me.
The main point on favor of the Valor, as noted above, is that it has the Red Frog Pub inside on Deck 5. We really like this venue as a place to dring and they also have fun games that we enjoy. If it just my wife and I we would usually choose the Valor.
The Glory is a great ship too and it has a much bigger water park and splash zone, so it's the choice if we have the kids.
Itinerary would be a big factor too and we have had great experiences on both.
Just curious if RFP on Valor has any food options or just drinks? Doing Valor next spring.

This story about money being used in casino sounds rather fishy. Casinos don't open for several hours after boarding and the card would have been discovered missing long before that and replaced. Also your picture comes up at the register when you go to make any purchase, so unless the person who stole it is the aunt's evil doppelganger it seems unlikely.
I agree. If tried using someone else's card in a slot machine they would need to know their birth date I believe.

We had aft wrap 8465 on Horizon and our sons were in 8461, which is not a Havana cabin but which is one of the "L"-shaped cabins with a large balcony. We were able to open balcony partition between the two cabins. The crew stairwell was between the two cabins, which wrapped around it. The only time I saw the stairwell in use was during the boat drill (this was pre-Covid) and neither we nor our sons ever heard any noise from the stairwell.
The stairwell Eli_6 is talking about is on the port side and is for passengers' use in going down to the Havana bar area. It was very convenient.
We had same set up in cabins on Glory, never heard any noise from stairwell deck 7.

I don't go to them, but believe you can get a glass of champagne at art auctions. Also, I don't think it counts against your 15 if you get a bottle of wine in MDR. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know about CA, but FL and LA you will be charged tax on the price of the drinks until out in international waters
taxes out of NOLA too
-
Elsewhere someone mentioned you pay taxes on the bottle if you would normally be paying state taxes until out of certain ports. Example Galveston, NOLA and NY.

Hide ducks around the house, then have them take the ducks on cruise to rehide.

I get casino offers. There are some who keep up with schedule, but I would just go on CCL site and pull up offered dates for them to get your answer.
-
You can also preorder up to 2 alcoholic beverages to your cabin, such as 4 beers and bottle of whiskey. Can order unlimited non-alcoholic mixers.
-
It also shows under categories' drop menu.

You have to prepay when making a reservation and I believe you need to give them at least 24 hours notification of a cancellation.
thanks, was just wondering about time table for cancellation.
-
A bit off topic, but if you make reservation and of course prepay, can you cancel day of reservation? Say in the am, because of whatever reason?
-
It's wonky sometimes. I was looking at cruise prices today, message showed that the offer I'd picked was expired. Offer shows Feb. 28th expiration.
