We sailed out of Long Beach a couple of weeks ago on the Panorama. We are Platinum so we were able to check in at 16 days out instead of 14. We got the 10:00-10:30 arrival time slot which is the earliest. We arrived at 10:00 am and at 11:00 am sharp they started the boarding process. We were in Cucina Del Capitano by 11:15. The ship sets sail at 4:00 pm so there’s no way boarding wouldn’t start until 1:30 pm. If you’re doing the Panorama I think there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding of some sort because there’s no way they would board that late. In fact, all of my cruises have started boarding at 11:00 and the ship sets sail at 4:00. It’s Carnival’s standard operating procedure.

Wonder if agent was thinking of cabin availability?

I have it for our cruise in two weeks, but I ended up with the earliest boarding time, so I cannot test arriving early. Seems like a waste of money at this point, but my wife would like to keep it to be able to put carryon luggage in the room right away.

Maybe I will make up a reason to need to speak to guest services when the line is longest so I can just walk by them all and get assistance.

The short line at guest services is one of my favorite things about FTTF.  You don't plan on going to guest services, but end up going there for unexpected reasons.

Carnival has cut service, cut amenities, cut food quality, cut staffing levels, and asked us all to pay more gratuities. Their ships look run down, even the ones that have been drydocked since COVID. This is the first time since COVID that I don't have a Carnival cruise booked, and I'm like 3 days away from Platinum. I love Carnival and I am waiting for them to bring the experience back up to pre-COVID levels before I return.

"I'm just happy to be cruising again" isn't good enough for me and my money anymore.

Not trying to be snarky or anything, but don't CCL points transfer over to Princess?  I've never done Princess, just thought you might want to look into that.

  4. I had to rebooked a casino offered cruise last week due to schedule conflict. Original offer was no longer available, but they transferred non-refundable deposit as well as drink and internet packages to new cruise.  Only getting charged around $5 difference when done.  Guessing it all depends on offer and a little bit of luck.  I had purchased Cheers and internet packages before price bump, so I was pleasantly surprised!

I'm curious - if you have (basically) a CHEERS package for yourself - would your spouse be able to purchase CHEERS (for just 1 of the 2 in the cabin)?

Going by what my SIL told me, my brother gets drinks anywhere, but they wouldn't let her use OBC to pre-purchase Cheers. She has to wait until onboard.

You're being over dramatic.   My wife and I's S&S card are linked to the same account.   It's nowhere close "finding" one on the floor!!   And I've never had an issue using her card to get her a drink at the same time as I get mine (whether it's coffee in the morning, or wine at night)

I'm traveling with my sister(different last name), are they able to see we're sharing cabin?  Thinking mostly for coffees, I'm an early riser.

We used facial recognition boarding and as we exited the cruise terminal on the return in New Orleans.

Are they still giving Sign and Sail cards in port building or left at cabin door now?  Going on Glory in a week.

We did the Fulton Place rooftop parking on our last cruise. I found the employees helpful and don't have any complaints. The rooftop parking price was excellent.

For our hotel we stayed at the Hilton Riverside. We were only there one night pre-cruise. It was fine. It is very close to the cruise terminal - you could walk to it.

I use their roof top parking too. Less expensive and my car sits outside at home.
