  1. Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Arawak Cay in Nassau? I was there about 20 years ago, when it was just a small village on the edge of the water where locals would make fresh conch salad in their little wooden huts along side the waters edge. Wondering if it's still the same, or has it become commercialized and how far is it from the ship? Is it walkable or cab?

  2. NCL is running a special. We called our travel agent today and our price was reduced by $340 total PLUS they gave us the Ultimate Dining Package at no charge! Now I'm really looking forward to the cruise, but now I'll need to lose a few more pounds than I was intending.

  3. Just to follow up, I've verified that Vibe must be booked once you're onboard. No pre-booking is available. (I'd advise doing it shortly after you get on the ship since there are limited spots.)

Thanks for the additional info! Where onboard do we go to book? Ignore this question, I saw the answer in one of your follow up posts. Thanks.

  4. Vibe, an adults-only sun deck, is $20 per person, per day, or $79 per person for a week. That includes first-come, first-served use of umbrellas but does not include cabana access. A daily cabana rental is $99 ($79 on port days) or $299 for a week for up to two people. As far as I know, you have to reserve spots (limited to 60 people) for Vibe once you're onboard, but I've got an email out to my Norwegian PR contact to verify that you're unable to pre-book them.

Richard, I already posted about the iConcierge app, but I've got a little more info for you. After returning from Getaway, I had a day to repack my stuff, and then I left for another two-night cruise to nowhere on sister ship Breakaway. I downloaded the app for that trip and paid the $7.95 fee. I'd rate it a 2 or 3 out of 5. Half of the time I couldn't get it to work because the Wi-Fi was so poor. I suppose it served its purpose, but it's not at all worth the cost if the other members of your party don't download and activate it.

Thanks for the info Ashley! Much appreciated.

  5. Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows if iConcierge is working on the Getaway yet? We are on the Feb 8th sailing with friends and would like to be able to use the app to message each other while on the cruise. :)

    Thanks!

What does the iConcierge app do? I'm intrigued.

  6. Go to Wilton Manors…..lots of bars, shops, coffee houses, gyms, etc all within a short walk of each other…

Georgie's Alibi is always a fun place to start out….Good mix of people…all ages…good mix of locals and tourists...

This is the best advice. I would have to agree with MiamiSpartan.

  7. Haha Richard, now now don't be jealous. Actually, wait a second you are in a Suite too for your May 5th FOS so what are you talking about mister? You can access that area too. But looking at the photos, I doubt I will. To me it's sort of a horrible area for the suite guests, I'm very disappointed. I would rather sit on deck 12 near the Sky Bar where I usually sit. Have a great cruise!

I agree with you. If it's the area I'm thinking of it's hot, no shade, lots of wind and BORING.

  8. Made it through the thread (well at least 2012-on...). Question for ya'll. If you were to do a night in a specialty restaurant, which of the new menu nights would you skip? I'm thinking the ****ake night...but I'm also not sure which night that would be. What do you think?

I would say any night BUT formal night since there is usually an better menu on the formal nights. But like the previous poster said, you will have to dress up.

  9. I recommend Lattanzi for Italian (Restaurant Row), Del Friscos for steak (Midtown - very close to your hotel), Victor's Cafe for Cuban (Theater District), West Bank Cafe for Continental (Times Square {couple blocks west}), Virgils for BBQ (Times Square), and Bar Americain for a Bobby Flay experience (Midtown - also near your hotel).

Have a great cruise and a great trip to NYC! :D

Thanks so much! Been to Virgils and Bar Americain, will have to try some of the others.

  11. Hey Brian - Thanks for the great review. I'll be on Oasis in November with a couple others who have been following this thread (Hi Olivia and Melissa!),

I have a question for you. Since you eat in NYC so often, any recommended restaurants? I'll be there first weekend in Oct. So far I've been thinking of Centrico and Craft. Hole in the Wall to Fancy, I'm open to anything that is good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be staying at the Hilton over near Radio City.
