  1. Thank you! So far it has been pretty smooth. I'm hoping ours will be a little smoother. 54 minutes to go.
  2. Greetings from the San Diego airport. It is our turn to wait for our flights. We should start boarding in about 20 minutes. Hopefully it will be a smooth flight. Wishing you all a wonderful day!
  3. Greetings from the Hampton Inn Downtown in San Diego. We are staying over a night because the difference in airfare paid for the hotel and then some. Not sure if it is enough to cover the shopping in Sesport Village or not. We hit up Crazy Shirts as we love their pants. Sue got a pair of cinnamon dyed pants and mine are pine dyed. Tomorrow is a long travel day. We don’t get home till 10:50 pm. I hope the rest of my Koningsdam Dailyites make it home safely. Hope all of you had a wonderful day!
  4. As @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda reported, The Daily Four got together this afternoon in the Ocean Bar and tried the Chocolate Chicken. It wasn’t as strong as I was expecting. We had 4 straws and all tasted at once.
  5. I am so sorry. I had that same dish when we were there and it was great. Do note this in your evaluation. I’m glad someone got a good one! Three of us at our table got chewies. You win some, you lose some!
  6. Greetings from the Koningsdam somewhere in the Pacific. @Crazy For Cats I wouldn’t mourn the loss of Bar Harbor after last year. The town was totally overrun as was Acadia NP. It was not an enjoyable time and we always loved Bar Harbor. Dressy night was last night and I had the tenderloin. It was awful-tough and rubbery. Otherwise, all is well and we are savoring our last few days. Our room stewards have been excellent as has our dining room steward. There have been some interesting enrichment talks and Sue has really gotten into the ukulele lessons.
  7. Greetings from the Koningsdam somewhere in the Pacific. You can definitely tell we are on the move. We enjoyed the geology and geography talk this morning. Sue is going back to ukulele class today. I’ll check out the Super Bowl parties. Dinner in Tamarind tonight. @ger_77. So sorry to hear of your losses. Sending hugs.
  8. The whales put on quite the show for us on the way there. We did not see the dolphins. You’re most welcome.
  9. Greetings from the Koningsdam! @bennybear yes, our excursion was by boat. We snorkeled near the Captain Cook monument. Today’s excursion was excellent. We were in small groups of 12. We started off with a visit to Rainbow Falls where I ran into @summer slope Dixie. We need another Happy Hour. We continued on to Big Island Candies for a quick cup of coffee. Then we headed up to the Kilauea crater. That was amazing by itself, but so was the lava tube cave! Then we went to a winery for lunch followed by the Mauna Loa macadamia factory. It is nice to be back onboard relaxing with a cup of coffee.
  10. Greetings from Hilo, Hawaii. @Haljo1935 Happy Birthday! @JazzyV Happy Anniversary on doing the Cares and Celebrations list. You are certainly worth a celebration! @ottahand7 We are sailing full this cruise. I think longer cruises allow people to settle into patterns and help keep the vibe a bit calmer. Hopefully others will chime in on the demographics. I’ve noticed a large range of ages. We’re doing fixed dining this cruise and enjoying it. Our table is diverse and pleasant.
  11. Thanks, @bennybear! I’m not sure where we went to snorkel, but it was really neat. I’m just mad that I could get a good picture of the sea urchins. They were incredible!
  12. greetings from Koningsdam. We were trying to get on the tender at the time of the earthquake. Made for a bit of difficulty. We had a snorkeling adventure today. I bought a waterproof pouch for my phone to take pictures, but it was darn near impossible. I got a couple shots.
  13. Greetings from Kahului! @1ANGELCAT My condolences on the loss of your friend. @Quartzsite Cruiser We missed you on Haleakala. We saw the birds you were talking about. Could we have had a nicer day for it?
  14. Greetings from Honolulu. This morning we went up to Foster Botanical Gardens and enjoyed walking around and seeing all the plants. They have a whole conservatory full of orchids. @Crazy For Cats my condolences to Juan on the loss of his uncle.
  15. @smitty34877 I hope you get some help soon. Holding you close! @JazzyV Dear me! I don’t think I could have done that in such pain. @aliaschief hold on! I hope you get through the storm safely. @marshhawk Annie, you need to get well. Don’t drag yourself down to where you can’t get well. I am worried.
  16. Greetings from Honolulu. We had a busy day today. We did the Pali Coast tour and saw some beautiful beaches. The waves are amazing. Our guide told us that the last time they were like this was 7 years ago. After the tour we returned to the ship for lunch. Then we caught the shuttle to Hilo Hattie’s. We bought a few items there and then hit up the post office to mail Ellamary’s postcard. Then we had to get home. The shuttle was no longer running so we set out to find the bus stop. We walked what seemed to be miles through a parking deck looking for a way to get out. Once we accomplished that we walked and walked to the bus stop. But we made it!! First , the Pali Coast. And the reward.
  17. Greetings from Honolulu! We’re having coffee on the balcony. How much better can it get?
  18. You wouldn’t be able to work from home on the Koningsdam right now. Internet has been dismal at best. Even Navigator goes down regularly.
  19. We are scenic cruising now. We’ve seen a couple of whales spout and breach. We had lunch on our balcony and I am enjoying a cold glass of Chardonnay.
  20. Greetings, everyone. As Lenda reported, Nawiliwili has been cancelled today and we are scenic cruising. Sue and I are enjoying our balcony and the views. Last night we had dinner at Sel de Mer with @Sharon in AZ Sharon and her DH, Craig. Food was good and company better. We had some great laughs especially when the waiter wanted to help get pictures of Craig’s soup. He decided he needed to be in the picture and so did the rest of the staff, @Denise T Your oven escapade sounds downright scary. I wouldn’t have slept. @smitty34877 Keeping you and Tana in my thoughts.
  21. Here’s a couple shots of Sue and the ukulele class. She is second row far left, red shirt, long gray hair and glasses. @grapau27 My condolences on the loss of a member of your church family. I’m sure church members will rally around Paul.
