  1. I’m booking my first cruise with Celebrity in 7 years and I agree completely. I watch my pricing constantly. Same promotion, same cabin availability, but prices fluctuate often, often multiple times a day. Package pricing is way over the top. Single rates are more than 2 times the fare for per person couples. Singles are cut out of guarantee rates. The issue OP shows is especially egregious. It is confusing and, yes, illogical.
  2. I guess I expect people to read the OP and respond to its content.
  3. So this topic sure got highjacked.
  4. I haven’t looked at any deck plans for S. On M forward viewing is only in Sky Lounge. Outdoor deck taken over by The Retreat. I guess they do helipad sail away by invitation only. Seems only to be Retreat thru Con class.
  5. Exterior deck forward to view and photograph port approach. Especially missed entering San Juan, on M class. But I understand, we must segregate the masses from the wealthy few.
  6. I suspect its less an attack on younger cruisers (most of us were younger when we started) and more a complaint about changing times and generally the higher costs associated with everything else affecting the cost of delivering what is expected at a price that is no longer affordable. No company can assure its future success by ignoring its future demographic. That said I fear Celebrity is going at it too quickly and on too many fronts at once.
  7. My first solo coming up on Celebrity Summit, Nov 13, 23. We are heading to familiar waters; Nassau and Cozumel.
  8. Doesn't look all that legendary.
  9. Just found this video from around the time you were on board. It’s the first time I’ve seen Bob Hope serve as a spokes person for the brand. I did not know she couldn’t get into Hamilton but love that they ran their own tender into the city. Cruise culture was so much different then. Enjoy!
  10. FYI, there are videos out there that walk through the process. It looks like an industry best for keeping things moving. The safety drill now is amazingly easy and really more thorough. I’m looking forward to the experience soon.
  11. Originally built in 1963, this was the first ship to cruise under the Celebrity name. Few folks today know what it was like to be on these narrow, deep draught steam ships. I miss them dearly. Edit on
  12. He did a donut, or a 180 to put the other side of the ship on the pier?
  13. This is an amazing shot. I can feel her cutting through the night.
  14. What an amazing heritage. I’d love to hear the stories at family dinner. Enjoy the prescription and keep her neat for the rest of us. I’d raise a Dark and Stormy to you but I’m out of Ginger Beer.
  15. Yes, Except for the class system now in place. HAL is very traditional as well.
  16. I’d go to the airport hotel, check my bag with bellman and enjoy the bar and restaurant. Another alternative would be to rent a car for the day and check out the beach.
  17. Arrive at 7:30 am, on board whenever they get me there. Current transfer has a pick up at 11am. I was thinking along the same line about a relaxing breakfast at an airport hotel. Thanks.
  18. Hi I'm booked on Celebrity Summit out of Miami but flight is half the price into Lauderdale. I have booked transfers with the CL but wonder about other options. Any recommendations are welcome. Also, my wait at the airport is over 3 hours so any tips on breakfast and waiting spots also welcome. Thanks
  19. Fantastic feedback none-the-less, so thanks from another future Summit cruiser.
