  1. We have sailed both lines, but like CCL. Our 1st was on the Jewel and we got the balcony like on CCL. Problem! The bunk beds block the door to the balcony so when the kids were sleeping we would have to climb over him to get in/out. The next time we booked NCL Pearl we got OV, since balcony was useless, we booked straight thru NCL and were told there were 4 beds. Got there to find out that only 3 beds and they put a cot between me and my husband for our son. So not the way I wanted to spend my week.......

The kids also do not like NCL camp because with CCL you look at the schedule go to the activities you want and leave for the ones you don't. NCL will make them stay for 2 hours no matter what.

We liked the buffet on NCL better, much better set up but the food was basically the same all week where CCL changes the selections daily and by meal.

  2. Great video and nice to see the Man Utd kits.................i'll be at the ground next week for the Watford game !!!

My son would love to be there!!!!! we did get to see them play in Miami a year ago.

I just noticed you signature.....one of my husband's favorites, he actually references it in the Breeze video....https://youtu.be/ItxVGfNHFvQ

Don't worry about the dress for the kids, dress shorts, polo shirts or khaki's are fine even on elegant night.

The only problem we have with the cabin is the shower and toilet since there is only 1. But i come back from the pool a little earlier than the boys to shower and dress for dinner. Then I go get a drink while they are getting ready.

Another thing we did when they were little was take them to the show and got a couch. They would fall asleep and we got to enjoy the show.

  3. Hi all,

I'm trying to decide on if i should bring my kids on a cruise before we hit Orlando for 2 weeks.

At the time of traveling they will be almost 3, almost 6 and 7. We would be looking at 4 nights on Victory hitting Key West and Cozumel.

It would be one stateroom for the 5 of us, which would be tight but its only for 4 nights. I just wonder would there be enough to keep them entertained at sea.

Also in the evening after dinner what would the options be for things to do ?? Would it be kids club for them while we grab a glass of wine or are they things the whole family can do ???

Any advice would be great, we're traveling from Ireland so its either 4 nights in the Keys or 4 nights on a cruise.

My kids love cruising! They both started in diapers and are now teenagers. There is definitely enough to keep them entertained on the ship. Camp starts at age 2 so they can attend the activities they like and give you free time. I would recommend bringing walkie talkies so if they want to talk to you (or leave camp) they can get you. They do have some family activities like the 1st night is a family dance/meet and greet, and they have family ice cream eating contests and so on. They will give you a schedule the 1st day of all the activities available.

As for Cozumel if you are looking for a kid friendly beach, go to Paradise Beach http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com/ This is my kids favorite beach anywhere!!!!

This is a video of our kids when they were younger to get an idea of life on board and the 1st beach is Paradise Beach, Enjoy!!!

Cruise elegant nights are usually the second night of the cruise and the second to the last night of the cruise

  5. Is there a way to make a sticky thread or a new Sub-Forums 1 for Fun Times and 1 for menus by ship? Every time we cruise I am always looking to try and figure out which nights are elegant & which nights I don't like the menu to go to specialty restaurants and I always have to search and it's very difficult to find half the time. This would make it so much easier for everyone!
  6.

    1. Does it cost money to do your own laundry? If so is it quarters or do you use your s&s card for that?

    2. Did I read correctly that the kids programs are available all day for free but if you want to utilize the babysitting services (night owl) after 10pm you pay 6.75 per hour plus 15% gratuity per child?

Camp is free extra for after hours but on Sea days camp closes for lunch so you will have to pick them up for a couple of hours. There are also some nights your child can have dinner with camp (no cost) so you can have a date night

    3. Is there a maximum amount of hours that they can be there during the day? Like for example if my 10 year old wants to participate in all of the activities would she be allowed to?

Carnival is not like NCL, kids can come and go as they want no set time limit that they have to stay

    4. Now I have a concern about the nightly dinner. We have a two and a half year old and sometimes he gets loud. What if we are sat at a table with people that don't want to deal with that. Are they stuck with us through the whole cruise every night or would they be allowed to switch?

the only times we have been sat with strangers, they are usually like us......when you go as a family with young children they seat you with a family with young children. Lately we have not been seated with other families just had a small table to ourselves

    5. Those of you with toddlers have you found that it's better to go to the earlier dinner with your children or the later one? And I'm talking from the perspective of other people. I just don't want to ruin anybody's time if my son decided to throw a fit or even if he's excited and screams really loud from excitement.

We found when the kids were young to go to the early dinner because that was usually when they were hungry and then go to the early show with them so they could fall asleep on the couch while we watched the show

    6. Can children wear the Dramamine patch behind their ear or is that for adults only?

I will say bring walkie talkies for your child while in the camp. so if your child wants to be picked up they have a way of contacting you

Bring a medicine bag with all the basics including a thermometer, they will charge to take a temp in the clinic.

  7. We will be on the Breeze in a few months and I had to watch the video...not knowing it was going to be a funny video and what it was going to be like. Normally I would have clicked off of it...but couldn't bring myself to do it because I was laughing so hard and couldn't wait to see what was next. :p Awesome!

I told my DH your comment and he was happy to hear that! Any favorite parts of the video?

  8. We just did our 3rd trip on the Breeze. Before booking we asked our teenage boys did they care what Islands or which ship and they both wanted the Breeze again!!! If you want a better idea of what life is like on board check out my DH crazy videos of our trips

    Breeze New Years Eve sailing

Just a warning this is my DH most warped family cruise vacation video yet.... 16 min. you will never get back....so enjoy:)

  9. Enjoyed watching this so much! We were on the Breeze the week before you and had a blast and beautiful weather. Have already planned a cruise on the Magic for this itinerary for next year and can't wait especially for Aruba and Curacao. It was really great traveling during the Christmas season with all the decorations and activities. Glad you had a great time as well! Happy New year!

Thanks! Do you know why debarkation from your sailing was so slow? We got to the ship at around 11:30 and people were still coming off and we couldn't get on until after 12:30 as platinum.

  10. I love the video! Also, I am the worst tech moron on these boards. Seriously I am lucky I can check my voice mail. What program did your husband use to let him edit that video- because it is incredible. I am actually going back to watch it again right now.

Glad you liked it. He uses a GoPro hero 3+ camera in 1080 wide mode and a program called Cyberlink PowerDirector 14 which is between $50-100 depending on specials
