Many, many thanks from IOWA (born and raised). :D:cool:
Kev
Thanks. Hey, we actually did spend 3 days in Iowa by choice last summer while on a driving trip. Had fun on Rathbun lake. My DH's trip highlight had to be getting his John Deere hat at the John Deere factory experience in moline IL.

*LOL* I should do something like that with my GoPro, make like I am a first timer and strap the GoPro Hero 4 on my head and go....*LOL*.....
New GoPro owners-be warned now, it is an freaking awesome camera, but the accessories and mounts cost adds up.....added up what I have sunk into my Hero 3 and Hero 4 and I got around $1500 in accessories, mounts, and the cases I keep them in when I travel...
Breeze--one day, one day......
My DH has absolutely no fancy mounts or extra gopro accessories. He is cheeep! The whole video was shot with him holding the camera in his fingers and praying that he didn't drop it.
Thanks

Thanks for sharing. Going on first cruise Saturday!! So excited, I'm gonna stay away from the ice cream machine tho. Too funny!!!
Enjoy your first cruise! Study the dream sequence ice cream cone and you will be a expert!!

Did not get to watch with sounds but loved it.. Can you tell me where you went rafting and with who? Looks like a lot of fun!
Hope you get to re watch with sound! Anyway we went on the river tubing safari tour through carnival but it was operated by chukka and on the white river in Ochoa rios. Was fun except on the way back to port our van bumped the side of hill and momentarily lost control. We thought we were going to fall off the hill.

Love love love this video! That wasn't ice cream coming out of that machine, it was awesome sauce. :)
Extra credit for not using "Best day of my life" or "Happiness" songs that seem to be in every cruise video posted on Youtube.
I am also on the fence about buying the GoPro Hero4 Silver that just came out. I am guessing this is the model he bought?
Why 48fps vs. 30 or 60 fps?
DH said its a gopro 3+black. Recorded at 48fps because in between 30 and 60 sounded good 😃. Converted to 24fps in the video editing program for cinema effect

Excellent video, thanks for sharing !!! The cove balcony looked great :).
Thanks. Glad you liked the video! Cove balcony really makes you connected to the sea and a great place to relax out of the sun too.

Did that ''tour guide'' at the very beginning of the video actually call it .......''5 guys'' burgers? Oh yes she did . I replayed it 3 times. I bet Guy Fieri and Carnival would love to know that!!! The video was great. That took a lot of time to edit.
Sent from my ME301T using Forums mobile app
Five guys and taco stand for blue cantina too! Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing!! Cant wait for our turn on the Breeze!! My dd bought her bf a gopro hopefully he learns how to use it before the cruise :p
FYI, my DH used 1080P Wide mode 48fps for all the videos. He didn't use any attachments or anything, just carried it around EVERYWHERE (sometimes in the waterproof case).

Thanks GaPearl! He loved the ice cream and especially the one he made in the dream sequence. I watched him eat the whole thing too!!

Here's a wacky video review that my DH did on this sailing. We also had a "lost reservation" for the steakhouse as well. I thought we did something wrong but guess not. We got in when called in that morning.

Just back from the New Years Carnival Breeze. My DH is up to his usual non-traditional (but yet entertaining and informative) cruise videos again!
This year he takes us on the Carnival Breeze to revisit cruising as a "cruise virgin" who gets to experience all the cruising fun over for the first time.
Here is the link... By the way, he bought a GoPro for this year's trip so there's some extra up close fun to this year's trip!
Enjoy and comments welcome!

out of all the sailings we have been on camp (at least the free part not late night) has never been open on the 1st night. What camp does the 1st night is the family dance party in the disco. It's a great way for the kids to meet other kids and the counselors without just being dropped off.

Take a look for yourself at the different ships from kids views just know some were a few years ago and may have been updated or shows changed.

I do have to warn you, these are not your typical family movies but they will make you laugh and they show you how kids enjoy a ship

Any with the waterworks, but the Dream so far is the best for the kids.
Up top with miniature golf, they also have the ropes course plus a game area. Pool table, fooseball, giant chess & checkers and the hot dog cart. If it rains they have the 5D movie theatre (extra change but not much). The camp area is great also and they have the dr seuss things.
My boys are now 15 & 13 and still love the breeze!!!!

Yes on regular nights jeans are permitted. Your outfits are perfect my sons wear their school uniforms polo shirts and shorts for dinner every night but formal nights
-
We were under the galley chopping area. But it never affected our sleep they didn't start till late morning. Never heard anything late at night. Sorry don't remember our cabin #
-
I think they also did stuff up on the sports deck and scavenger hunts
-
The 1st night camp has a family dance party, take them to this! This way you are still with them but they can see and meet the counselors and other kids.
Once you get the camp schedule let them decide what activities they like.
Another great thing we did when my kids were that young was bring walkie talkies. This way if they want to leave camp early or just get ahold of you while separated they can.
-
I don't know if you have kids or like adventure yourself but the ropes course if free and so is the hot dog cart in that area around the foosball tables. Ice cream machines are free and open 24 hours a day.
The 4D movies does have a fee but for kids the package is great especially if you have rainy days and it's kinda cool.

My sons (16 & 13) have both been sailing since they were 6 months old. We usually do holiday sailings. We have had over 2,000 kids on board. When this happens they move different age groups to different locations. Like other posters have said the disco, conference rooms, library. They still have tables blocking the entrance with someone checking in/out kids. We have found that my kids have had more fun in the other locations because they do other special things like bring the dancers in to work with them.
No cruise is perfect it's what you make of it. out of all the cruises we have been on there has only been 1 on CCL were my kids didn't like the camp. If you want to be sure your child can get ahold of you bring walkie talkies they work great when they want to be picked up early or just to check in.
Go and have fun!!!:)

Thank you so much for the photo link....I stumbled across this thread and I am so glad I did I presumed our cabin on Pearl and Jade would have 2 pull down beds and they do not (I phoned to confirm).
I now can mentally adjust and not be shocked. We are a family of 4, husband 6'4 and my daughters and I are all 5'8 ish but I think that the reverse U will be just fine. We choose to all stay in one room so that we can afford more vacations.
Just one more question for anyone will this reverse U work in Pearl/Jade inside cabins?
That's why we go 4 in a cabin as well! Unless doing 2 cabins of 2 works out cheaper as it sometimes does.

We have cruised over 30 times and have very little expectation or need for cabin space. We are out cruising and enjoying. Yes we have the beds put away during the day. However, never have we been on a cruise where a "hospital stretcher" is placed between two other beds with no warning from the website we booked on. A reasonable assumption we made was that they would warn us about this "non-standard" bedding arrangement.
Maybe we have been spoiled cruising on Carnival (never thought I would say that about carnival :-) ), Princess, RCCL, Disney, etc. where you are clearly told what the cabin sleeping arrangement will be so you can make an educated choice about cabin type.
The rest of the cruise was fine.
-
We learned the hard way on our recent Norwegian Pearl cruise the reason why NCL.com is so vague about bedding configuration in their cabins. If they were clear, nobody would likely book 4 people in a cabin on their ships!
Video showing the terrible website and even more terrible sleeping configuration:
Be warned if you plan to cruise on NCL with 4 people in a stateroom!

My DH uses a tool called cyberlink power director 13. Very easy to load in music and other editing.
