  1. I have just got back from the first Sunday Service on Queen Anne, which was very well attended, as you might expect. It was also unexpectedly hilarious. Inevitably, on a brand new ship, with all the latest technology, the sound system failed half way through, so the Captain was inaudible to most. They brought an alternative, but, while they were trying to fix things, they managed to plunge us, though not the stage, into darkness. It all took about ten minutes. All good fun.
  2. I think Cunard passengers are usually pretty polite and understand that people in wheelchairs are dependant on the lifts. However, they are not the only ones, many seemingly able bodied passengers are also pretty decrepit and couldn’t cope with several flights of stairs either. But so far that aspect has been fairly peaceable I would think.
  3. Last night was black and white formal night, and everyone I encountered seemed entirely appropriately dressed, nearly all in accordance with the theme. I felt rather a renegade for wearing red shoes.
  4. It won’t be from personal experience, because I would not wish to spend a moment in the place, which I have really taken against, but I will ask around.
  5. By the way is anyone else on board having problems with emails? The internet is working brilliantly.
  6. Only two canapés. Not long ago on QE we used to get six. But I adore the black and white marble bathroom, which, glory of glories, has a lovely bright light over the bath (unlike in the Vistas), which makes reading a delight. I tried the sunny side of the prom deck, and it was better than I expected for walking and passing. But there would be no possibility of lounging.
  7. Not my Latin class, matey. 😀
  8. I shall begin a campaign of intimidation to terrorise Victoria from her table. Or perhaps not, as she seemed pretty nice. 😀
  9. We arrived by taxi at our designated time of 12.30 to find a chaotic scene of lots of people milling about outside. However we were flapped through to check in very quickly because of Grills priority, and they had already started boarding so there weren’t a lot of people sitting round waiting. However, I was somewhat peeved to notice the person in front of us in the check in queue had an arrival time of 2.30. After that things got worse, with a long queue for security, which did move quickly, until it stopped altogether for about ten minutes, and then, something I’ve never known before, a long queue on the air bridge to get on board. I kept thinking of St. Nazaire.
  10. The arrangement would be just as bad in a seaside hotel.
  11. There are actually two slightly different types of chair. The ones you and we have, with more of an arm are much more comfortable than the others, which I had changed. I think the restaurant as a whole is lovely, just not our position. Things have improved as my husband has agreed to swap round every meal, so every other meal we get a nice view. But I still think whoever organised the arrangement was out of their mind.
  12. Coming close to being crushed, particularly if having to manoeuvre round other users. I am sure it will be easily remedied, but the sooner the better.
  13. I agree the lifts are a hazard. They have the same capacity as the Vista lifts, I think. That is a highly fictitious 18. But the doors are hyperactive, and given the general decrepitude of Cunard passengers, many will be squashed. I have had several fights with them already, for they are quite determined.
