  1. Everyone got on board. We boarded at Kongens Nytorv and it was already full of cruisers and luggage. I'm not sure, but I think I overheard people saying it was the wrong 26 but so many people got on he changed it to UNICEF before we boarded. At each stop more cruisers and some locals packed tighter on the bus. At the end a few people who boarded at the back/middle tried to pay and the driver wouldn't accept their money. I'm wondering if all 2000 passengers will storm the bus when we debark on Friday. Let me know if you'd like more information.

How much was the bus per person?

  2. Why not take a train from Østerport to Nørreport, its much easier.

    I'm confused.

I thought you said the Østerport metro wasn't available until 2018?

I was planning to take bus #26 from Langelinie Pier (Brilliance of the Seas) to the Osterport station and then taking the metro to Norreport station.

Am I mixing up train vs. metro??

  3. There is no problem in taking the bus from Langelinie pier, the problems has been from Oceankaj.

And there is no metro from Østerport (that is until 2018 when the circle line opens) but botrh Øresund trains, Commuter trains and S-trains stops at Nørreport.

    Good thing I asked!

OK, best way seems to be to walk/taxi to Nyhavn and take the metro from Kongens Nytorv to Nørreport as you earlier advised. I found a website that included Østerport.

  4. I'm planning my bus #26 from Langelinie Pier (Brilliance of the Seas) to the Osterport station and then taking the metro to Norreport station.

There will be 11 of us and I want us all to have correct DKK coins for our journey so we're not scrambling. I want (hope!) a seamless journey. :p

How much per person for the Bus? I know the metro is 24 DKK for a 2 zone ticket, which we'll buy with coins at the station. Can you buy the return metro ticket when going or should we wait and buy the return at Norreport once we return? We're meeting a food tour at Torvehallerne.

    Thanks!!

  5. Here are some photos of 7688 for comparison. If you don't mind the smaller cabin, it is a nice balcony. I included a photo of the pullman bed opened up...

I am thinking of switching to this cabin, but it seems like there's a lot of obstruction in the way of the sea views. When you are sitting in the lounge chair, can you see the water/wake? Does this balcony get any sun?

    Thanks so much!

  6. We used Totally Driven just this morning. I booked them online several months ago. The driver was there when we arrived at Heathrow and he drove us to a hotel in London. I was very happy and would highly recommend them. The car was well kept and clean. The driver was personable, polite, and helpful with our luggage. He was a safe driver also. I would use them again.

Glad to read this review. Thinking of booking with them for our group in July. We have 11 adults with a lot of luggage!

  7. Camilla,

I hope you are still watching this thread, it has provided wonderful information. I sent you an email hoping you still had your brochure available to share with me.

This town looks like the perfect day for me; walking, shopping, and eating!

Ruth, I'm looking for your Visby photos on your website you provided. Can you tell me which album? Thanks!

  8. Yes there are many taxis but there is nothing no navigate.

Until 2018 there is only one platform at Kongens Nytorv metro station.

Just buy a single ticket in the ticket machine (2 zone ticket, 24 DKK) and atthe platform just choose either M1 or M2 towards Vanløse.

The next stop on the line is Nørreport, just use the opposite exit than the ones for the S-train and Long distance platforms and you will be at Israels Plads and Torvehallerne.

A taxi for this trip will probably be 80-100 DKK.

That sounds easy...let's hope I can do it!

  9. The metro stop at Kongens Nytorv (next to Nyhavn) is just one stop away from Nørreport station.

Just take the metro towards Vanløse.

If you follow the harbour from Langelinie you will end up at Nyhavn, its an easy 30 minute walk.

Are taxis readily available in Nyhavn? I'm thinking this may be easier than trying to navigate the metro.

  10. Danish Viking,

I will be in Copenhagen in July and decided to take a Food Tour. The meeting point as stated on their website is Torvehallerne, Outside Main Entrance Hall 2, Frederiksborggade 21, 1 minute's walk from Nørreport Station/Metro.

I believe the Brilliance of the Seas will be docked at C190 Langelinie based on their same stop in July 2013.

We arrive at 7:00 AM and do not need to meet our tour group until 10:00 AM. Is walking a possibility? If it's too far, I thought about walking to the Nyhavn area and taking a taxi from there? I'm just not sure I want to attempt and navigate a metro.

Thank you for all your Copenhagen assistance!

  11. I assume you really mean Immigration, since Customs is usually a matter of just handing over a form you filled out on board the flight and had initialed by Immigration.

Yes, Immigration! I new Customs didn't sound right to me....

I am a US citizen and I will go ahead and book the flight with the longer layover. At the end of a long cruise I just want to get home and not be looking at my watch stressed out!

    Thanks for the inputs!

  12. Good Afternoon!

Since I got to the island fairly early I opted to walk and check things out. Made my way to the West End, its so beautiful there. Tomorrow once its my sea day I'll upload more pictures from Coco Cay. After my walk I got a cooler of beer! Yum, I don't plan to drink it all on the island.

YAY! I wondered if they were still offering the cooler beer special. Is it buy 6 get 7??

  13. The only thing I have to add is if you wear contacts, DO NOT get the water in your eyes. Your eyes will burn and your vision will be very blurry.

When I was there last year, we rubbed the fabulous mud all over our faces and then, washed it off. Good thing my contacts held up after rinsing them with tap water. I'd go again in a heartbeat but skip the face mud.;)

  14. Thinking about how to get from CDG airport to the hotel, and with your rave reviews am seriously considering the Gramont Opera Hotel. We will be a group of 6 adults, with me leading the pack! It will be worth spending the extra $$$ for convenience and ease of getting around the city, especially having the hotel staff so helpful with the metro.

Is there a shuttle/van that can accommodate a group of 6 with lots of luggage? My group will not handle hauling luggage on/off the train.

  15. Try to save half a day for Versailles.

I did like this idea in your review. I didn't know it was so close to Paris, and honestly I know nothing about Versailles. I keep reading about the gardens but is there anything else or is that enough?
