The deals are insane. I found 3 or 4 night cruises aboard the Seaside starting at $59 TOTAL for an inside cabin in 2021. Don’t know if it will happen, but I couldn’t pass it up. Booked a back to back. Grand total for 7 nights in a balcony stateroom is $165 plus $98 tax. Doesn’t get much cheaper.

    This deal didn't last long....bummer!

I think it's more about preserving bookings.  I think people are dropping just prior to final payment without seeing it likely that they will get to cruise. We did that for our (former) November 9 cruise.  Now we are booked for February 28, and I would have dropped again if cruising has not restarted by my October due date.  Now that it is end of December for final payment, they keep my booking a bit longer... if we have a clear return to cruise plan in process I will make final payment. If not, I cancel again.

There are a lot of us unwilling to hand over $2000, $3000, $4000 or more only to play the FCC/refund game.

My cruise is February 20th and the NCL site has my final payment date as Nov 22nd.  Did your date change on the website?

  3. I booked and paid a $900 deposit for a cruise sailing out of Barcelona this September.  We decided to cancel and I called and was told the full refund will be allowed with their new cancellation policy.

Has anyone cancelled when just the deposit was paid? How long did it take to be received?  I searched on the boards, but couldn't find anything pertaining to a deposit only refund.

    Thanks!

  4. I was just checking the MSC website and our 4/10/2020 7 night cruise departing from Hamburg is no longer displaying as an option.  There is a cruise departing from Rotterdam on 10/2/2020 that is docked in Hamburg on 10/4, and arrives back in Rotterdam on 10/9/2020.

    Anyone have any thoughts/details?

I'm hoping as I sail on Breakaway April 18th.  Got a great price and lots of OBC to boot.  If I cancel I lose the low price and all the OBC.  Chances are same cruise will cost plenty more down the road if NCL is still in business and not Bankrupt.

If they do end up canceling my cruise, I'm hoping they will still offer the 150% FCC as I'd opt for that versus straight refund. Yes, I am being a gambler at this point. Also looking to pick up 100 shares on NCL below $10/share.

We can be hopeful and wishful at the same time... 🙂

I'm on this same cruise...well, would have been. I'm holding out for a couple weeks hoping NCL will cancel. I already have a 2021 booked so I'd rather have the full refund.

@3dogmom - This post is a bit late so not sure OP is still searching.  However, Overlord Tours do offer tours to MSM

    and here is the info:

    https://www.overlordtour.com/product/mont-saint-michel-tour/

It says it's a guided tour and includes entrance to abbey.  I would love to visit MSM but my knees wouldn't handle all the stairs.

It's a beautiful setting for sure but a long day of driving.

We booked a tour through Overlord to Bayeux and Honfleur.  Watching some YouTube videos of MSM, there's no way all of us are making the climb to make the visit worthwhile.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

  7. I'm looking at a flight on Lufthansa from Tampa to Hamburg. The layover is one hour in Frankfurt. Is this enough time? Would we have to clear customs in Frankfurt before arriving in Hamburg?

    Thanks for any information!

    Hello

Not trying to put you off, but do you realise that according to Via Michelin (who is the only reliable distance calculator - forget Google maps)  between Le Havre and Mont St Michel it's over 3 hours by road each way. That's without any stops for coffee, photos, comfort breaks. Or allowing for any traffic holdups. Just trying to give a realistic picture - up to you if you decide 6+ hours in a car is worth it to join the throngs on MSM!!

I do realize the trip each way is close to 3 hours, however it's on our list of places to must see!

  9. I have been to Normandy from Le Havre, so I would like to tour Mont Saint Michel when we arrive in Le Havre in October.  We are in port from 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Has anyone taken a private tour? I'm looking at Overlord Tours since I used them touring Normandy.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

your status is valid for three years from your status match, if you matched 10/18 then you should stay black until 10/21.

There should be no issue with a 2020 cruise, call MSC or if you use an agent get them to call on your behalf.

Have you logged into your MSC account and checked your Voyagers Club status, it should show your level and the expiry date.

Each time you cruise the three year clock resets

I applied back in 2016, so out of luck.

  11. I found out about status match prior to 10/2018 on CruiseCritic and immediately applied and was matched to Black based on my RCCL Diamond status. I didn't know the rule that you must sail in a certain time-frame to keep status.

Fast forward to this year when we're booking a 2020 MSC cruise. I am now bumped down to Classic and my husband is now Gold based on our current Diamond Plus status on RCCL. So annoying!!  I don't get the one-and-done rule of applying. Why?!

  12. I want to take a taxi to L'USINE – Labrasserie, a brewery in Chicoutimi that based on my research is about 20 minutes from the port. Are there taxis available? Do you know if they take CAD and credit cards?

If anyone has any other local breweries as options, please let me know!
