  1. I would not pay that sort of money for P&O. If the cost is an issue I'd go a lower balcony and package on Princess. Last time I was on P&O people with the package had difficulty getting drink orders in the dining room. I don't like their restrictions with food times either. I want to eat when I want, and I like good food. I equate P&O food to pub food. I hear they have upped their game a bit this year. I doubt I'll go and find out.
  2. I just got off and didn't see it listed on the day. But worth the ask.
  3. I agree with this. I think Carnival are great for the pricepoint. I've done a few Carnival but not in Australia. Food and service is good. I won't go P&O either.
  4. Yes you do. I'm on the Gold Coast but flying to Melbourne for this one. We are doing 2 more before that, out of Sydney and Brisbane. Coral Princess had some cheap deals last month for Nov, Dec and Jan.
  5. $4,000 is a whole new cruise to me. I will pay a bit more for a balcony but not double. I don't think it's double the enjoyment. We just got a 13 night on Princess to NZ in Dec 2022 in an obstructed oceanview for $1,100 each. $2,200 TOTAL.
  6. We did a few cruises on HAL in 2018-19. Beginning of the year was 2 for 1. A few months later it was Buy 1 get the second for $1. That was in Europe and Canada. We travelled full time for 4 years 2016-2019 so price was important to us. We'd go overseas for 3 months at a time and do a few cruises as well as land based. We found some great deals on HAL so did quite a few with them. In the end we got sick of the problems. We spent more time at the desk on one cruise than the total of all our previous cruises. I do love their free computer classes and guest lecturers. We always liked Princess and when we went on one again after a few years away we thought- Yep this is for us. I liker the food vand service. I like International Cafe. We did a few Carnival and found for the money, they are great value. I like the comedy Club. They are the funship. We had fun. We do like Celebrity but normally above our budget. Norwegian are great to for the pricepoint. I think Norwegian have the best entertainment. RCL are great for families. Our daughter and grandkids loves them. I won't go on P&O or MSC again. Life's too short!
  7. What transfers are you talking about? We booked directly with Kuranda Rail. Included was transfer from close to the ship. They drove us to the cable car and we got the cable car up to Kuranda. The train tickets are included and got the train back at the allocated time. You walk from the train station back to the ship (short walk). The only risk is if you don't get to the train station in time but it's exactly the same risk if you book a ship tour. Coral Princess don't leave until 8pm.
  8. Don't be scared of booking tours yourself. Some are exactly the same as the ship tours but half the price. People on our cruise said we were crazy booking the train trip in NZ. What if you are late? etc etc. Well yes the train broke down. BUT everyone was on the same train, whether they booked through Princess or not. Do your research. I can understand people being sceptical with bus trips etc hours from the ship. In NZ there are many options that you can book ahead and others you can just book when you walk off the ship. We did a lovely sailboat trip that was cheaper and heaps better than the cramped boat that the cruiseline was offering.
  9. haha!! Make a claim and find out. They ask for flight tickets for a start. Did you fly home for a night? I always used yearly insurance because I travelled a lot.. Made sure I was home before the 90 days. Even if it was only for a few days before taking off again. That was with 1 Cover. Not sure if any do that long now.
  10. Thanks for posting. It was great meeting everyone. I love that we all knew you Sparky from you Avatar. LOL. We really enjoyed being back onboard. looking forward to the next one.
  11. Got off the ship Sunday. Had the sniffles Sunday afternoon. Cough, headache and tired yesterday. Just tested positive to Covid. Bummer. Just an occasional cough today. No headache.
  12. He spent a lot if time asking people ages. At the second show there was a 9 year old and a 12 year old. Maybe that limited his repertoire? We stood up the back for 2 minutes of the third show. That was enough.
  13. You beat me to post do I'll just add a few thoughts. The ship didn't feel crowded to us except in the theatre and in the shops the last day. We had few issues with the coffee card. Thry kept charging us and the server in Internationsl Cafe said don't worry just go down and take it off. When I ordered myself it was correct. Bar service was sometimes slow. I found ordering yourself on the mediation was quicker usually. The food was great except the vege burger. Horrible. Over an inch thick patty made with quinoa and no flavour. I couldn't eat it. Staff were friendly as usual but were sometimes a little flustered with the ordering. It's just practice. I would suggest checking your account on the app everyday. A few people had thongs added that they didn't have. Once I ordered and they started puting the order through and I happened to see the screen. I said that's not me. They usually say your name. And again when they deliver. Listen to avoid mistaken orders. Agree the comedian was horrible. After 15 minutes Couple of people laughed. He said- thanks for laughing. Shows were great. I bought a clip for the medallion (the $20 one). It broke. I was worried about it breaking again even though they said there have been no issues. I was worried about losing it when clipped on my shorts so I got the watch instead. Happy with that. Loved being back on board. Met some lovely people and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. We walked straight off at 8.40 as we had our own bags. You had to fill out a customs form due to the duty free. Started looking for another one already. Any questions please ask.
