  1. We’re doing back to back cruises on Celebrity Beyond in June/July 2023. Same cabin both cruises. So excited as will be onboard for 21 nights. A 40th wedding anniversary and 2 big birthday celebrations!

Have cruised with Celebrity many times (Elite Plus), but have never done a back to back before.

How does it work on changeover day? Breakfast?  Anywhere open for us? New cards etc? Any advice gratefully received, thanks.

Well..... it was bound to happen on a cruise at some stage. We have no regrets about abandoning ship! It was awful weather,

However, we have just upgraded to a suite on our Britannia cruise in April!

Would love to see you both on the seas again. I fully admit I wasn’t at my best on this one, but it was the cruise from hell!

  3. My husband and I were on this sailing and flew home from Tromso, along with others. It was our 46th cruise so we’re not new to it at all. It wasn’t a nice experience. It was rough to very rough from the start. No let up at all and difficult to sleep with the constant pitching, rolling and noise. We are glad to be home. Have heard from a friend on board that they now have to miss Stavanger as it’s so bad! Three ports on a 12 night cruise isn’t for us at all!

No issues with the ship itself and the crew are great but far too rough weather to sail so far North.

Many people we spoke to were very frightened and wished they could get off, but not everyone could afford the last minute expensive flights from Norway and had to stay. We got home after flying to Oslo then London then Belfast and I’m glad we did.

I had ordered Polenta Fries thinking they were some type of potatoe. Wrong!

    Sidenote: UPDATE!

If anybody remembers my comment about the men's washroom in the Ensemble Lounge from my 2014 Equinox Trip Report? Well! That potential danger of showing one's package still exists if standing at the first urinal and the door opens. Did not happen to me.. Just saying.

  5. I am in Ireland and have heard nothing and going on a Celebrity cruise including Cozumel and Costa Maya in 2 weeks. What is the issue?

  6. Have sailed Celebrity many times, but in Europe/Mediterranean/Baltic/Adriatic. First time this Easter doing two 7 night back to back cruises out of Miami.

How do Celebrity handle changeover day? We have same stateroom both cruises. Do we have to disembark? Do we need to settle our account and start again? Can we keep any unused OBC for the second leg? Do we need a new key card?

Any advice on this topic will be greatly appreciated.

  7. We have not sailed with Azamara due to concerns about the relatively small cabins and bathrooms. For the cruises we have looked at, the prices have been too high to entice us.

Loyal Celebrity cruiser who tried Azamara last year. Never again. Balcony cabin and bathroom tiny. Very small ship with not a lot happening after dinner. Not impressed at all. Back to Celebrity with Equinox and Reflection booked for 2018.

  8. We are just off Eclipse and also had an amazing time and booked onboard for Reflection next year. Unbelievably, we got a call from kennels whilst in Stockholm to say our 14 year old border collie, Abbey, was seriously ill with liver failure and she also died. It was horrible and we were devastated but we too carried on. We were a group of 24 and they helped us through. We have just rescued a 8 month old border collie from the shelter!

  9. Yes, that has been my experience on many Celebrity cruises. Saw one woman being refused as she was extremely drunk - had fallen asleep on the Ice at the Martini Bar!! Had to get medics to assist her. We have never had a problem ordering within the dollar limit.
