  1. I completely feel you! I'm literally at a Disney park every other weekend so I wouldn't do it either, however I didn't know your circumstances but now I agree that it could very well just be a great ship day :)

We are thinking of the manatee bay boat tour if the weather looks promising. My son (8) told me tonight that the excursions sound nice but he'd really just like to stay on the ship! Surprise!

  2. How about a day at Disney World when you're in Port Canaveral? As an Annual passholder, I can personally say that Disney is beautiful in a Florida winter!

We have been AP holders for most of my kids' lives! (My 10 YO old has been to WDW 24 times and DLR 6...and we live in PA) and I agree it's a great time to go there, but I couldn't justify spending for one day almost what it would cost one of us for a year:eek: and for only half a day! (Our passes expired in early august:-( ) This is a rare non-Disney trip for us. I had thought about trying the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at IOA, but I just can't justify the cost for a half day. I KNOW we will be back to Orlando, so no hurry. I'm going to let the kids kind of take the lead on what they'd prefer to do. Thanks for the suggestion though. It's a great idea for someone who wants to get a taste for one of the parks. We are just spoiled :-)

  3. My next cruise is Port Canaveral, Nassau! and Freeport. If I weren't traveling with the kids, I would probably stay on the ship the whole time. As it is the kids love the beach. So we will likely get off at at least two. We are cruising in. February, so I am not booking anything in advance because the weather could really be anything at that time. I goes against my plan-everything-months-in-advance personality, but it don't want to get stuck with a cold or rainy port day and expensive excursions!

  4. I never much cared for him myself and I really don't like mascots from any company or organization' date=' but that is just me. However, you have to admit, Freddy is a lot better than the mascot he replaced. John Heald said he was nicknamed "the noid"

    Now THAT's scary!!

  5. Did you see whales or dolphins from the ship? Wondering if they are in the area that time of year?

    Stacey

I'm late with follow-up, but my daughter did see dolphins. I was in the loo and missed them :-/ We also saw a whale spouting, but it was quite far in the distance so we didn't see the actual whale.

  6. Thanks for the info! I do hope there is a ship coming to Baltimore. I love being able to drive to the port. Now I'm scared our cruise will be cancelled.

On another note, where do you live in PA? I'm in the Lancaster area.

    Sorry I missed this...

I don't think you need to worry about cancellation. There were some changes to regulations that caused Carnival to pull out of Baltimore. Carnival has worked the issue out, but just too late to keep the Pride, at least for now!

I live in Hanover, so not too far from Lancaster!

  7. Hello All - Guess I'm not up on things. I wasn't aware the Pride was moving! We are booking the Nov 23 2014 cruise. I guess that will be her last round-trip to Baltimore? Is a different ship coming to Baltimore?

Not as of yet, but fingers crossed! It was an issue of fuel and environmental issues. Carnival has worked out an arrangement that would allow it to happen, but too ate to keep the Pride on Baltimore. There are size issues because of the bridges, so they do need to stick with smaller ships. Hopefully, when they do the next schedule, the Pride will return to Baltimore!

  8. You should be able to watch a hockey game, if only because it is the best sport in the world! However, I doubt you will be able to as the majority seems to want to watch those poor excuses for sports - baseball and football. :D Go HABS!

I grew up in the states, but my parents were born and raised in Montreal, so I inherited the hockey gene. But when I grew up in souther PA, NO ONE watched hockey. Now, there are a lot of NHL fans around, so things are improving in the US.

  9. I will be on the Pride next week and was wondering if anyone knows if they will be showing any of the pre season NHL games in the sports bar.

I know right now it's Football season, but there is always hope :p

    TIA

    Nancy

No idea, but I have to throw in a GO HABS! To counter some of the other posts:D

We will be on the Pride during the Olympics and John Heald did say they'd be showing the games in the sports bar...

  10. I certainly do understand the 'school,' thing. Homeschool for the week. LOL

After our cruise on the Breeze in March, my husband said he didn't want to go on any more cruises. I was crushed. But lo and behold, I was sitting here looking at a Pride review on a Sunday evening last month, and he said, "Where are you now?" I said, Pride and we need to cruise it because we don't have to fly first and start out tired. (He just turned 75, and I am 71 so we do get tired after the hassles of flying,) He said, "Well, if you agree to go to Puerto Rico, I'll go on another cruise." BAM, I contacted our travel agent and within an hour, she found this for us. Booked it that night before he could change his mind. LOL Catch your hubby during a football game. He won't be paying attention to what he agrees to.

Substitute "hockey" for "football" and you may be onto something!!

  11. Laser tag was at 11pm & hopefully that's not to late for your son, because he would love it!!! Thanks for reading.

In real life, it would be, but I'd make an exception on a cruise. The bigger question is if his old mom can stay up that late!! We will have the same cruise director as you did, so hopefully it will be an option!
