  1. Fuel Surcharge ($15 daily) and Gratuities ($18 daily) are charged after boarding. . You'll have to call MAS Customer Service for answers about B2B procedures.
  2. According to cruisetimetables.com: Progreso 0800-1600 Cozumel 0900-1700. Key West 1200 -1800. Cruisemapper has the dates posted, but not the hours. For our July 16th sailing, it appears that Islander is the only ship calling in Progresoo and there will be only two ships in Cozumel. πŸ˜ƒ
  3. What 'deceptive' extra charges? Gratuities and fuel surcharges are no different than any other cruise line and are addressed on the MAS webpage. . People expect the Westin accommodations and Sardi's dining for Best Western and Outback prices.
  4. That is correct. That lot is for the Peanut Island Ferry and passengers. Not MAS passengers trying to save a few bucks. Also, there is no security. . Look into a stay and park plan at a local hotel. Or park at a local grocery store/shopping center and hope for the best.
  5. There isn't one. Any booking modifications, add-ons, etc. past your initial booking are handled through customer service. Which, I suspect is a third-party provider. Be patient when calling. .
  6. What was the rental price for SCUBA gear? . Would I be correct to assume $40 is for a one-tank/single dive?
  7. Yep. I suspect the PTB at MAS outsource much of their advertising and customer service and NO ONE is bothering to pay attention to the published results. Your notation about (non-existent) $149 Islander fares and the Blender Cup image in the beverage package being examples. .. Hopefully they GYST soon!
  8. You may want to try a mock booking online before throwing MAS under the bus. Base fares are cheap. Taxes and port fees, charged PP are the same no matter what. . For some mysterious reason the fare is usually the same no matter which promotion is running. The exception to this was using GovX for the 'Heroes' promo which actually was significantly more expensive.
  9. Drink menus from May 2023 are pinned at the top of the thread.
  10. It appears that since Carnival registers and software are already onboard and programmed, MAS is simply recycling that program. Limited choices, no coffee drinks, 15 max per day, time restrictions, etc.
  11. Nor are BC refills. Note the center image in the OP. 🍸 🀣
  12. Yeah, I just found that on the MAS website. Ignore my guesses on the previous post. πŸ™ƒ . I like my boat drinks. Mrs Pr8hd might have 2 per day. Not worth it for us, especially when gratuities are NOT included. . Is the Blender cup included? 🀣 I'm going to guess that they are using Carnival's existing onboard software. .
  13. This showed up in my email a short time ago. MAS Islander beverage package (All inclusive) has been published: $59 per day pp, for any/everything. Presumably gratuities are included.. NOTE: This is branded as the "Ultimate Package" - Other plans may or may not be forthcoming. . I like the wristbands used on MAS Paradise. That said, with two sea days on every sailing, this is not the worst deal afloat. Nothing was mentioned about requiring everyone in a cabin to have the package, 15 minute time restrictions and the like.
  14. You'll be rolling the dice on this dependent upon your expectations. Mrs. Pr8hd and I enjoyed the service and food on MAS Paradise. It's Best Western and Outback, not the Westin and Sardi's as some expect it to be. MAS Paradise is crewed by the same people who were there when it was operated by the previous owners. With an all new crew, MAS Islander is an unknown quantity until June.
  15. No mistake at all. πŸ™‚ I was hoping they had posted packages and excursions for Islander. Doing a mock booking just to get to the add-ons page is a pain. Fins Up! 🦜
  16. I booked a few days after the ship was announced. No drink packages, excepting sodas were offered or listed at that time. The last MAS facebook post I saw indicated they company was still working in developing drink/packages excursions for Islander. . Were packages offered during your reservation process?
  17. MAS telephone customer service rivals MSC's online presence. 😁 I suspect much of their tech involves cans and string. File with your CC - that will get MAS's attention and hopefully prompt a refund.
  18. MAS Islander has not released drink package information yet. Or did I miss it? Hopefully, it will be the same plan as MAS Paradise. Which, I think is the best drink plan of any cruise line. If it is the same, you pre-pay for 10 that are loaded on a souvenir RFID wristband (including the 18% gratuity) and you can buy more bands if you want. Bonus with that - the bands can be saved and used on a future cruise. . We are boarding Islander July 16. Looking forward to it!
  19. Disney, Carnival and RCL and soon MAS visit Progreso (Yucatan). According to the port schedule it looks like Progreso has only one ship call per day. Cozumel may have three or four ships each day. I think MAS is trying to fill a niche for shorter (4-5 night) cruises visiting KW and Mexico. MAS seems to be the only line with a KW and Mexico itinerary from Tampa. Tampa is a bonus with a shorter drive and better parking. πŸ™‚ It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out long term. Side note: Key West is doing everything it can to limit the size and number of ships docking. Apparently the Governor disagrees with that idea. I believe (hope) Spirit class ships are small enough to visit if Key West gets what it wants.
  20. $233.00 on Progreso & Cozumel sailings. $275 for Key West/Mexico. Gratuties $18 PP per night. Fuel surcharge $15 PP per night.
  21. Why would you call? If the reservation system accepted your cabin selection without a change in fare (Cabin category), there is NO reason to do anything but enjoy the cruise. Often, cabins of the same type/location may have different occupancy (2-3-4) based on furnishings, design and so on. If you have time, refer to the 'cabin selection' topics here and elsewhere.
  22. There are three drink plan tiers on MAS Paradise . Blender Cup which comes with 6 drinks and a 22 oz Blender Cup for your frozen concoction of choice. $119.00 Boat Drinks for basic drinks and some specialty cocktails, $99 No Doubts for all prenium drinks/brands, $119 I beleive additional wristbands may be purchased on MAS Paradise if you run dry. No idea what mark-up there may be. Great idea to offer a larger package for longer cruises as you suggest. 🍺🍸🍹 I like the MAS program for it's simplicity - it's ten drinks - period. No fussing with 15 minute intervals, No requirement to purchase one for each person in the cabin. You can buy somebody else a drink with your wristband, none of the "No Sharing" etc. If you wish to upgrade to a top-shelf drink, only the difference is charged - unlike some other lines. Gratuities included and, best of all: If you have drinks remaining on the wristband, they can be saved for the next cruise or given to someone else. Try that on any other cruise! 😁
  23. The MAS website is bit by byte adding more information and concept art about MAS Islander. I am looking forward to July! Just hope they use the same model drink plan as MAS Paradise.
