  1. On our last two cruises Nov 2015 and Jan 2016..............stock credit was in personalizer in about 2-3 hours

our next cruise in 2 weeks it took almost 3 days to appear.....I called because it took longer than the last 2 times and they told me they were just working on the faxes for the day before I sent mine

  2. You don't have to FAX it, only if you wish to. Carnival says you can provide the information by fax or by mail. I have always sent via snail mail and received credit within a few days. In fact, I received a phone call saying that for some of my future cruises, I needed to wait until the board approved the credit for the upcoming year. Great customer service! I have never waited until final payment, just had put the deposit down.

To find out if I have received credit, I ask my TA.

I did not see anywhere that the proof had to be valid for three months. On the CCL website it says: The proof includes photocopy of shareholder proxy card, shares certificate, a dividend tax voucher or a current brokerage or nominee statement with your brokerage account number blacked out).

  3. Thank you all! We knew it was going to be tight, but the savings was just so much that we felt it was worth it. We are on the Royal, on Lido deck. The thought was that we would be so close to good public areas that we would spend more time there than in the cabin.

    I love the suggestions. Thanks!

You will be so close to open space on the Lido deck.

Mini suites have the extra space of the tub and more storage space under the sink. Bring clothes pins to hang wet suits from clothes line in tub.

We get plastic glasses from the pool area bar to store toothbrushes and paste and combs and brushes.

Get some command hooks and hang on inside of bathroom door and use to hang shoe storage rack with clear pockets and that should help with toiletries.

Also bring extra magnet holders that clip and use to hang up visors / sun hats on the cabin walls .

If we are doing and excursion put everything in beach bag ( or bag you might use) and hang it from the shelf near door with the kind of hook that is used to hang towels off golf bag. We do this the night before.

bring small flash lights to use in cabin at night, if you need to look for something while others are sleeping

have a great time..........we did this many moons ago with our two children........only with bunk beds..........wonderful experience.....timing is the key

  4. Might be a crazy question but I see a lot of people requesting a top sheet for bed and not sure why?

always ask for a top sheet.....as that is what we are used to at home

  5. Stepped off the Regal yesterday and have been feeling very sad ever since. This was our first cruise and I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. I can happily say I have the cruising bug.

Wondering where to go next but worried that the other ships won't live up to the Regal. Did anyone else get an attachment to their first ship, is it normal?

Our first cruise was on carnival...real bunk beds ....not side by side .....that was for our 20th anniversary.......thankfully only a 4 day cruise with a tiny port hole ...but

we soon found Princess and love the Regal , getting ready to sail her in a few weeks and again on Princess in November for our 48th anniversary

  6. I'm asking on behalf of our teenage daughter, what are the chances that there will be other teenagers on the Hawaii-bound Ruby Princess at the end of March? I tried to help her realize that her school isn't the only one with a spring break, and we couldn't be the only parents taking a teenager with them on a cruise, but she doesn't believe me and thinks she'll be alone among "old" people or at the youngest, no one near her age. She's used to sailing on Disney ships on which she's made tons of friends in the kids' programs and which has hundreds of kids on them all year round.

Please reply if you have experience with a March cruise to Hawaii with teenagers in the past or will be taking your teenagers with you this March. Just knowing that other parents have done this will help her feel more enthusiastic about her prospects for companionship during our cruise. Not that she doesn't like hanging out with her parents....

Have you thought about joining the roll call for this cruise? It may have a wealth of information that might be of help.

  7. I see that Princess offers several snorkeling excursions in GT. Does anyone have experience with these compared to booking your own through a tour group (looking at Blue Water Divers.)

I have done what I call the no frills one.........no catamaran or rum punch.........just pure snorkeling at 2 different sites...........have done this twice.....

not sure how it is listed, about 40 or so persons ride on a large water vessel with fully covered roof and seats across from each other and 2 rows on each side

this tour runs about $50 and have not done a private tour

  8. Is there a discount to buying the soda & more onboard the first day? I was not sure if it was less than the $8.05 per day if you order it before the cruise and it's waiting in your room. Thanks in advance -

If you have a lot of onboard credit...........it would be good to wait as no discount

  9. I have a cruised booked (using a TA) for Jan. 2017 and I am booked with the Casino rate.

If I happen to see some additional "percs" being offered, can I cancel then rebook (keeping my original cabin) and still keep the casino rate ?

Has anyone been able to do this ??

    Thanks for any help.

Most of the time for us the casino rate is better price.....that being said you would have to determine if the perks are worth the rebook and if you cancel and rebook your cabin goes back into inventory and you might loose it...........

some perks ( for us) in the past have been combinable with casino rate ( like free gratuities) but the sip and sale was not for one cruise we had booked

rules in 2017 could be different

  10. I'm following this thread as well because am also debating getting the package for our Med cruise. However, I'm mainly a wine drinker, and I believe you can only get wine by the glass, so my question is; is the wine sold by the glass of a good quality, or is it like in some all inclusive hotels - cheap rubbish?

they have very nice wines $10 and under at the vines bar....and you may bring glass to dining room, they also have by the glass in MDR.

we found most of the wines were of good quality

  11. I just read a post that mentioned if both pax are platinum, both get the complimentary internet minutes. DH and I are both platinum but we share one e-mail address. Can we still each get the 500 mins on our upcoming 27 day cruise? Thanks.

you should each receive the 500 minutes , you will sign in with your birthday , state room and then add your password just you the cruise....

  12. So we took our exchange daughter to the Chef's Table. She really enjoyed it. The staff was great and found her a white wine with 1% alcohol in it (which we could not find any other place on the ship). The food was great and despite being the youngest by far she was amazing. I think if we had not told the others at the table that she was 15 they would have thought she was older. We were so happy she got to experience the Chef's Table. So if you have a teen who is mature and enjoys food, the Chef's Table works. We all had a great time.

    So glad you did this...............

we have hosted students from Up with People ( Germany, Belgium and Montana ) twice and a French exchange student for the summer. Our own two children were teenager and pre teen. We had the most enjoyable experiences with each hosting and all the students were so respectful and it was a pleasure to be around them. I bet we would have enjoyed this dinner with her.

  13. On some cruise lines, both adults in a stateroom have to purchase the beverage package. Is this not the case with Princess? How do they keep couples from just "sharing" a few drinks? Is that regulated or frowned upon?

    Thanks.

Princess does not require both adults in same room to purchase package. The package when purchased on ship clearly states no sharing and that package is per person.

Bottles of wine purchased at 40 % off may be shared.

If I want a drink it goes on my card.

Do people share ?? You cannot get two drinks at the same time from the same bar.

Hard to share when you both sit at same bar most of the time and the bartenders get to know you and your preferred drink.

  14. Have sailed the Regal Jan 2016 (7 day) and the royal November 2015 (10 days)

Had Marina deck forward facing balcony both times. Loved the rooms.

Spent many hours in Vines and in Atrium.

Some differences Royal ... Vines was excellent and entertainment in atrium was available every night with mostly dancing and other acts ...tapas and sushi disappointed ..........staff was wonderful....dining in MDR was awesome......rarely used buffet

On Regal in Jan whole different type of entertainment in atrium......several nights Jazz that was most enjoyable...........not a lot of dancing available.........the Vines bar was amazing with tapas hot plate different every night..........excellent staff and most enjoyable MDR experience..........

Now torn between minor differences in both ships...........will be doing TA on Royal soon and will be able to judge better..........

which ship will pull at our hearts??

  15. What about a b2b? Can you bring two each at original boarding? Bring on a second one each on turnaround day?

    Paul...here is a story

we did a B2B Feb 2015 and brought 4 bottles on board and were sent to the table ..........we showed proof that we were doing B2B and they wanted to charge us for second two bottles ......so took back to car and on turn round day brought wine back in from car

  16. I've never noticed them writing down anything when we checked in with our 2 bottles. Maybe I didn't take notice.

On our recent cruise on the Regal Jan 17, 2016 we brought two bottles and were sent to a table where they recorded our names and room number ...... our friend traveling with us also had one bottle and was not sent to the table.....go figure

  17. Is there a drink maximum? I know some ships do usually 15 not that I have ever reached it but just wondering

    No drink max so far...........

DH gets package.........we bring 2 bottles of wine on cruise and take to Vines for me to drink ( with corkage fee) usually 2 bottles lasts about 5-6 nights , then we buy bottle at 40% for me.

Have elite bar set up that we swap out for what I drink and DH goes to bar for his drink and brings back to room for happy hour. This works great on our 10 day cruise.

  18. I need some clarification regarding bringing bottles of wine onboard in addition to the 1 bottle per passenger allowed. If I want to bring 4 or 5 additional bottles onboard do I just have to pay the $15.00 per bottle corkage fee or is there also 15% gratuity added to it?

In addition, if I pay the corkage fee can I bring those bottles to dinner in the main dining room, and how do the waiters know that I have paid the corkage fee for the bottle?

only $15 corkage fee for bottles brought to dining room no extra gratuity added. You are allowed one bottle per person without corkage fee unless you choose to bring those bottles to the dining room and then you will incur a corkage fee.

As you board the ship there is a table after going through scanner that you will be sent to. Extra bottles will be stamped for corkage fee and you name will be added to a list.

You can also bring these bottles to vines bar to drink there.
