  1. We will also be on this cruise. Palma is going to be a highlite of this cruise. I have

never been there but the pictures I have seen really impress me.

    Greg

Thanks we are still deciding if we are going on this cruise..........will know for sure at final payment in a few weeks.......but still doing some homework on ports..........

have cruise booked in November and weighing options.........and will be in similar cabin on Regal in a few weeks

    this Island does look amazing

  2. My TA just called to let us know we got an upsell offer from a mini-suite to a penthouse for $399 per person. I jumped on it and selected the aft location. I've been watching cruise fares for our itinerary and they've gone way up, and what we originally paid for our mini was several hundred less than balconies and even insides were going for at one time. So we're basically getting a full suite for not much more than the current balcony price. So excited!! We've never had a full suite before so I'm looking forward to enjoying the experience.

I don't really have a question here....just wanted to share my excitement with people who know what I'm talking about, LOL. Sometimes I say things about cruising to my co-workers, but they just don't get it:)

Any great hints or tips from those with suite experience? I think the 2 things I'm most looking forward to are Sabatini's breakfast and the extended room service menu.

I feel your joy and would do the same thing in a heartbeat!

We booked M102 ( forward facing balcony with large obstructed view) on a cruise this past November for 10 days.......very happy with cabin and received an incredible casino rate with free gratuities..... month before cruise received up sale offer to Mini suite.............turned it down due to price and only perk would have been tub and bigger sofa , but much smaller balcony..........watched cruise pricing and 10 days before cruise M108/ M107 opened up..........called Princess and received up sale to M108......to me it was an amazing up sale and the room was incredible with bigger than life balcony.......we ended up paying less than regular balcony price to get this awesome room....

Life is short ......eat dessert first

    Enjoy with all the perks

  3. We will be driving down for the first time. We have always flown. How do we find out which terminal the Emerald will be leaving from on Nov 7th? And where do we park for long term? Do we need to make a prior reservation?

    THank you for helping!

You do not need to reserve if you park at the pier. Just follow the signs for ship and drop off. You will receive ticket when you enter garage area. After dropping off luggage you can park the car and there are elevators to bring you down to ground level and short walk to cruise check in.

You pay when you return and leave the parking area. At the end of the cruise we usually have a porter bring all our luggage to the car and Tip handsomely and it makes our life easy. Then drive home.

If you want to drop off you luggage early and go out of area for several hours they will give you a sign to stick in window and then you will get a ticket when you actually park.

Hope this helps...........we have used the pier parking many times and try to park close to elevators. The pier garage parking is all under cover.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  4. hope someone can help me here, looking at beverage packages, does both people in cabin have to purchase it or just one, I do not drink much buy my husband would like it, could not find the answer on the princess website![/quote

No only one person , not both

  5. We booked as soon as it came out, but did not get the insurance until recently...never had problems before...never thought we would get cancer. Thank you for the kind words. I hope you are doing well and cancer free. It is a long road...we don't say a journey, that is too nice. This is the end of this chapter of our life and we are ready for the next. Recovery after 10/22. It will be a long road due to head and neck. Hubby never smoked, drank or HPV, doctors say he is one of the 15% who get it who shouldn't. cancer is a terrible disease. I will not capitalize the word...I hope you have seen, as we have, the good in the world, the good people. cancer is the black dot on a white page, with white being all the good. I wish you the very best and hope and faith for the future.

Thank you also for your kind words and positive spirit. It will get you trough the tough days ahead.

On a side note I am a recently retired Oncology nurse........I have seen your pain and traveled this road with many of my patients.

There is a rainbow on the other side of the pain, sometimes we have to create it our self! Many the future bring you many rainbows.

  6. We are booked on a 35 day cruise, booked of 5 different cruises. Our travel agent told us that we are charged Princess cruise fair and not what it actually is from the travel agent. This doesn't seem right to me. Can someone help me out here. I would think if we paid let say $3,000 for a cruise fair, the insurance should be on the $3,000.

    Thanks for your help.

When did you book the cruise? prior to the diagnosis and treatment or recently? If you booked it recently the pre existing would come into play. But if you booked before diagnosis and treatment t is not pre existing as you signed up for insurance with booking.

Hope his recovery is improving daily

We went on a cruise as soon as I finished radiation treatment for Breast cancer , trip was just what the patient and care giver (husband) needed. Everything went smoothly.

Hope that will be the case for both of you as well.

continued wishes for a blessed recovery.........

  7. New to princess so please have patience :-) When I booked my cruise today the lady said you are eligible for an upgrade if one comes along thats what is checked off in your booking because I put a room on hold. I never noticed that. I told her no thanks because we booked a forward facing obstructed deluxe balcony right at the front of the ship on the Royal, its a bigger balcony. Did I make a mistake and reply no, I was thinking any other ODB will be worse probably life boats in front so I declined, now Im thinking what if they upgraded me to a mini suite if it doesn't sell out! Did I make a mistake by telling her no? Has anyone ever been upgraded to a better category?

Sailing on a cruise in November and we also have same type cabin on front of ship. We were offered upgrade to Mini for extra $$ and turned it down as balcony that we currently have , I think will be awesome. We will still have more balcony space and have a small love seat instead of chair. Will not miss the bathtub and the extra cabin space as we have more space than a regular balcony.

Also the cabins they were offering were not in area we desired to be in.

    Hope this helps.

Sometimes we second guess ourselves and we have the best room for us already booked.

  8. I've never had the AIBP but have it through the Sip and Sail promotion on three sailings next year. I am relieved we have it now that we will not be able to bring our own soda and water onboard anymore (side note: still don't understand why I can't bring cans' date=' but oh well). I just wish I had it on my January sailing.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered already but are you allowed to take the drinks from the bar? I'm not asking because I want to "share" the package with anyone -- I just like to sometimes have wine or a drink in my cabin and it is my understanding that I cannot use room service with the AIBP for a drink to be included. I just don't want anyone assuming I am not drinking it if I want an unopened split of Korbel for tomorrow's breakfast on my balcony or a drink back in the cabin.[/quote']

No problem on the beer or Korbel. Just ask them not to open them(make sure you have a bottle opener as not only the beer but the Split Korbel needs one). We have brought drinks/ beer/ wine / korbel back to our room also to drink on the balcony or getting ready for dinner and was not a problem.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  9. Our 20 day cruise last year on the Island Princess was a disaster!

The small pool of water in the Horizon buffet was enough to bring me down to the floor. No broken bones just a very sore hip. The mold and mildew in our mini-suite never got cleaned even after telling the hotel manager. The toenail fungus on four toes on both feet from the pedicure tub in the spa that eventually caused an infection in the bone of the big toe. At one point the podiatrist wanted to amputate the toe but they treated it with six weeks of bacteria specific antibiotics.

Our 15 day cruise to Hawaii from SF next month will be our 22nd cruise on Princess.

Here's hoping this years cruise is better.

almost 22 cruises on Princess and only 22 posts all in the last several weeks................so I guess no pedicures on the new cruise

  10. Hi all, I think I may be losing my mind and I hope you can help. I reserved/booked Princess EZ Air for our upcoming Mediterranean Cruise - we booked the flexible option. DH and I are thinking of now flying in another day before the cruise and checking airfare to see if it makes a cost difference, however I cannot find on our Cruise Personalizer where it shows how much the air was when we made the booking. I am sure it is there somewhere, but I cannot find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!!

Go to payments and credits and open it up and it will give you a breakdown, for a more detailed cost breakdown click on (view guest level invoice details)

We went with EZ air as trying to book on our own was almost quadruple the price and we are staying several days post TA and made our own hotel reservations and still have EZ air to fly home.

  11. I think the Caribbean Princess uses your room key to swipe to pay for laundry and then you get coins to put in machines and laundry soap and softener are extra.....same swipe card for coins again. ( I bring my own laundry soap and dryer sheets as fragrance free needed here)

Sure some one will jump in here if that is incorrect

  12. Cindy.............

there are only several wines at Vines that are over $10, You can stop there for wine and Tapas or sushi before dinner. We worked our way through most of the red wines in Vines. If you find one you like you may take it to the dining room in your glass.

As far as being in a suite you will have first choice for dining reservations in the main dining room even for anytime dining. You do not have to call the dine line daily. Talk to the maitre'd ( or head waiter) the first night and he will arrange this for you. If you find a special table you like you may also request this , Suites has its privileges.

    Enjoy and happy 50th BD.

  13. Do you receive onboard credit due to CCL ownership if you have received the reduced casino rate?

You will receive both. Reduced casino rate and OBC for CCL ownership of 100 shares.

All you have to do is submit proof of ownership after final payment.

On our November 10th cruise we have Military, stock and FCC as OBC as well as casino discount and free gratuities............they are almost paying us to cruise

  14. Having done Celebrity with their Premium plan, My husband is a little concerned about ordering a "mixed" cocktail with premium brand alcohol, such as a "Rusty Nail" made with JWB or a Cosmo made with Grey Goose and Cointreau.

Celebrity just mixed what you wanted and a Very decent pour.

    have a great cruise

We sat at the bar and watched them poor and after a few days they knew our drink, only once did we need to remind them to use the call brand

  15. Hi everyone new member here, wife and I are taking our 1st cruise in 2 days. Doing the quick trip to Mexico and back to make sure it's something we will enjoy.

Saw this thread so figured it would be the right place to ask about irons. Wife has a small steam iron she wants to bring with us for touching up. Would there be any problems packing this in our luggage? Thx

luggage is scanned and this will cause it to be held and not delivered to your room and will be taken. It is easy to walk to Laundromat and use their irons
