  1. Will be spending the night in San Juan before our Adventure of the Seas cruise. Would like to maybe visit a casino that evening. Any suggestions?

Which part of San Juan? Isla Verde, Condado or Old San Juan?

  2. I am sure GSC is going to be destroyed also so that is probably another stop that NCL will not be able to make. If anyone is doing an Eastern Caribbean Itinerary in 2017 I wouldn't count on going to any of those islands. These hurricanes are going through the upper Caribbean like a buzz saw and now Jose is taking aim at Antigua and Barbuda again. God help those people as they have suffered enough.

  3. I have been going to Cancun and Riviera Maya every year since 1981 and these tourist areas have become dangerous if you are not careful. I personally have been approached numerous times to buy drugs, ladies of the evening and other ridiculous things. One woman asked my mother if she wanted to buy her child. I have been extorted by the police and will no longer set food in the tourist section of Cancun. My only visits now are stays in AI's in Riviera Maya where I get off the plane and a limo takes me to the resort and a week later I get back on the plane. I am now considering moving my timeshare weeks out of Mexico since the discovery of the use of tainted alcohol which resulted in the death of a young girl recently. The reason for the recent warning is because of the influx of gangs and the drug cartels into the tourist areas. There are much safer places to vacation IMHO.

  4. Heya.. First time cruiser here and have been reading all I can..

Ship boards at 4pm.. Do you really need to be at the front of the boarding line at 11am in order to "race" to headliners to get a pass? Like waiting 2 days in line for front row concert tickets?

Is my first 10 minutes on the ship going to really be like a race and stressful trying to run there and find headliners? Because this is what I am picturing..

How many passes are available on the Escape? Do the "vips" get first access to the passes?

The ship boards in this order Haven, Ambassador, Platinum plus, Platinum, CAS VIP's and then the rest by boarding numbers which are first come first serve so that is why many arrive early before the doors open at around 11-11:30pm. It is reported that people have had to make mad dashes to get one of the 100 passes available. With all those folks going ahead of those that get boarding pass #1 it may be possible that they can be sold out if you are not one of the first to board.

  5. How difficult is it to get drinks while in the Pearl Haven?

I was just on the Jade which is similar to Pearl and there is a courtyard attendant that will get you drinks from the bar downstairs. He was so attentive and drenched in sweat from running around getting all of the people in the courtyard their drinks. We tipped him very very well for all of his efforts. I have heard that some courtyard attendants won't do that.

  6. Wife and I are staying in an owners suite on the Dawn in march 2019 and i keep reading about the daily treets ranging from gummies to m&m's to pb&j sandwiches. What is everyone's favorites "treat" and what is acceptable to ask for (cashews, sushi, etc)? Never been in a suite before so not real sure what is ok to ask for and what is not.

    Thanks.

Smoked salmon, sushi, little turkey sandwiches, choc chip cookies, the list goes on and on. If there is something you really like the butler will try to get it for you within reason. This year we are celebrating something special on our upcoming Escape cruise. NCL are arranging for two servings of Sevruga caviar with sides and champagne for our sailaway. Pre-concierge host set it all up and it was very reasonably priced. When in a suite ask for anything and they will often make it happen.

  7. Can you snap some pics to show us? We are on next month and I am curious as to what is on it.

    Thanks.

Will try my best but not really a photo guy. However, my wife takes a picture of everything we eat and posts it on yelp so i am sure we will have some pics. Haven't eaten a meal in 3 years without a wait I need a picture first:):):):)

  8. To be honest to you: after this cruise I've heard some major concerns about Omar. I really can't tell you the details and why, but some very good friends of mine stayed in Haven didn't gave the best reputation of him [emoji43]

I stayed in the DOS in April on the Jade and Omar was perfect. Always there, and when something wasn't right I called him and he always picked up. Whatever I needed appeared within 15 minutes.

  9. Exactly. This is the first time in eons the that I do not have a NCL cruise booked. Examining other options.

Same here as I am Platinum Plus and only sailed the Haven for the past seven years. I can got to Hawaii for two weeks for the same price of a 2 bdrm villa. Bon Voyage NCL.

  10. Has anyone experienced this type of excursion? We have never been to Antigua and trying to figure out what to do...:)

This would be more suited for Lobster Alive in Barbados. Not so much for Antigua. If .you want a first class dining experience in Antigua go to Jacqui O's. It is right on the beach and they have beds and loungers. Not sure about the quality of snorkeling there as it is a sandy bottom.
